Guest John Dub Report post Posted May 24, 2003 I got it at my local Best Buy for a whopping 18 dollars, every dollar well spent, I might add. The menus are really cool (At least for the extras). I've only watched the AAA match's beggining (It has English Commentary, if I recall it was a joint PPV broadcast in the US so they had US commentators) and the first Dean match, watch was really amazing. Not mind-blowing, but I'm suprised I haven't heard about it more. I'm shaking in anticipation for this HH match, I've been waiting a long time to see it. Guest Lightning Flik Report post Posted May 24, 2003 (edited) BBV REPRESENT!(I'm an SL at my store) SL? Huh? I got the feeling that's no where NEAR St. Albert's Inglewood Blockbuster (Recently #1 in Canada for selling the most Harry Potter pre-orders, got to see X-Men 2 free because my store is the BEST). And to keep this on topic, damn does that DVD and all the eggs make for a nice prize. Can't wait to buy it. Edit: SL - oh shift leader. Great to hear. That's awesome. Guest Downhome Report post Posted May 24, 2003 I'm shaking in anticipation for this HH match, I've been waiting a long time to see it. It's the greatest "short" match of all time in my eyes. Well, maybe not, but at least the best short match in the past few years.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted May 24, 2003 15 minutes is Short? I thought Kid/Hart 4 minute **** match was the greatest short match of all time...
Guest Downhome Report post Posted May 24, 2003 15 minutes is Short? I thought Kid/Hart 4 minute **** match was the greatest short match of all time... It wasn't even 15 minutes long, it was around 13:30 or so, pushing 14:00. Oh, and yes, I consider that a short match, especially when considering it as "the greatest" match. Sure, a match of that length for a Cruiserweight match would be great in this day and age in WWE, but for it's time in WCW, it was shorter than most matches of it's sort. Bret/Kid rocks btw, it's fantastic for what it is.
Guest RavishingRickRudo Report post Posted May 24, 2003 I just had a joygasm. But damn them all to hell for not putting Rey vs. Dragon from WWIII 96 on it. I was just watching that an hour ago and it was amazing.

Are you sure Bret/Kid didn't have a really short one at one time on a RAW or something? I could have sworn they had a five minute or so match once and it was great. I think I even have it on my computer somwhere. Or maybe I'm just a lunitic and am confused like a crazy bastard, either way.

However...There are two versions of the Bret/Kid match floating around the Net... A whole fully cropped 30 minute Match with Kid and Bret... and the more common Cut version... The cut version runs about 8 minutes... I am still looking for Owen/Kid to DL...
Guest RavishingRickRudo Report post Posted May 24, 2003 I think on the HHH Game DVD there is commentary for the RR00 streetfight w. Foley. And on the Hardy Boyz DVD they do a lil commentary for the ladder match, but not all of it. IMO they should do a WM DVD, a Summerslam DVD (they are fools for not doing a SS box set, as SS generally is the best PPV), a Survivor Series DVD, and a Royal Rumble DVD, all with Audio commentary from the key participants... I love audio commentary in general, but in wrestling there is an added dynamic to it cause it's just not regularly heard of. "What was he thinking when he did that?" "How did that feel?" "What happened there?" , there are so many questions anyone interested in professional wrestling would love to know. Hell, I have the WM box set and I'd still pay for a DVD if it had Audio commentary (ok, I wouldn't pay for it, but I would encourage LOTC to buy it )
EL DANDY~! 0 Report post Posted May 24, 2003 I put down a deposit hoping for something good... This DVD should be worth $50...unbelievable. I'm absolutely in shock. Probably the best DVD buy I'll ever make.
Guest RavishingRickRudo Report post Posted May 24, 2003 Hopefully it's not the best... Cause that means they won't be doing a Chris Benoit DVD any time soon
Guest Choken One Report post Posted May 24, 2003 An Benoit DVD would interesting... How much Japan footage can they get?
Guest RavishingRickRudo Report post Posted May 24, 2003 They could get as much as they wanted. They would try to get none of it.
Guest Rob Edwards Report post Posted May 24, 2003 I'd still buy a Benoit DVD with just the WCW and WWE footage methinks, obviously the NJPW stuff was better but you could make a hell of a disc from his US endeavours
Guest RavishingRickRudo Report post Posted May 24, 2003 Oh yeah, I mean Benoits WWE stay alone is worth a DVD, but the most impressive thing, IMO, about Benoit is his large body-of-*quality*-work, and it would be the best thing to showcase if you want to get Benoit over with the majority of WWE fans. Guest Rob Edwards Report post Posted May 24, 2003 yeah I'd hope they'd go to town somewhat on the feauture and at least acquire some clips to make us aware of how great he was then Hell it's far from the best thing he did in Japan but I'm sure they could see sense in getting the Benoit/Jericho JC95 match on there

Guest bravesfan Report post Posted May 24, 2003 In terms of nostalgia...Hulk Still Rules is still the best purhcase you can make. In terms of match quality...well, 619 may just have it hands down. 3.Bash at the beach- vs. Psicosis [7/7/96] 5.Halloween Havoc-vs. Eddie Guerrero: Mask vs. Title [10/26/97] THESE two matches are my reasons for getting the DVD. Everything after that is just an added bonus.
Guest bravesfan Report post Posted May 24, 2003 It was confirmed by the WWE last month, that they were 6 easter eggs on the DVD itself. Now it's a matter of finding them (the poster who already has it.)

Guest John Dub Report post Posted May 24, 2003 It was confirmed by the WWE last month, that they were 6 easter eggs on the DVD itself. Now it's a matter of finding them (the poster who already has it.) I looked around on the DVD and found 7 of his promo videos before he came in, and one video of him talking about his song. I don't know if those are the eggs, because there's more than the confirmed, but it's not accessible from the menu. I'll check on the player that's not my computer so I can move the cursor to the Easter egg spots without clicking blindly. We'll see.

Yuna_Firerose 0 Report post Posted May 24, 2003 DAMMIT! My birthday is next month and I know I'll be getting some money from the g-parents and aunts/uncles [they always give out money instead of buying me anything, which is just fiiiine with me!]. Problem: I already got enough to buy! 2-Disc Red Dragon DVD, 2-Disc Fight Club DVD, SD4, Silence of the Lambs DVD fuckin' packed with extras....and now I have to think about getting the Rey and HBK dvds? That's it...my ass is gettin' a job this summer. 'Course I was plannin' on it anyway, but still... Which version of SOTL's are you getting? I found Red Dragon for $10 brand new, but it was just the one disc version. I bought it, and didn't know untill I got home that there was a TWO disc version. Blah, now I have to sale the one I bought, and buy the other one, heh. The Widescreen Special Edition version, which if you want to know more about, go here. Red Dragon only $10? Geez...where the hell did you find that? I guess it's a lucky thing that *most* didn't like it, that way the fans of it can get it cheap.
Guest John Dub Report post Posted May 24, 2003 I'm pretty sure the "Easter eggs" are just the promo vids. I could be wrong, but that's all I'm getting. I didn't press anything on the menu and after a while it showed me one. The feature kind of sucks. It's pretty short, Rey kayfabes a good part of it, and it doesn't bother going over a lot of his Mexican career and completely skips the last year or so of his WCW career. But, the extras more than make up for it. 18 bucks for those matches is not a bad deal in the least. They're all winners, and although I've only seen a few of them, the first Dean Malenko match is REALLY good, and I can't wait to watch the rest.
