If anyone can think of any other Storm singles matches in the WWE that have gotten more than 5 minutes...please let me know. Or else dude's 2 for 2!

I remember 2 good matches Lance & Regal had as tag team champions on Heat but nobody watches that show.

The only way Lance Storm would get a reaction now is if he did the from CALGARY ALBERTA CANADA gimmick to get nostagia ECW heat. He need to bring back the red & white pants!

IIRC weren't most of the Regal/Storm tag matches relegated to Regal using the brass knucks. With the finish being he uses them or they backfire. You could have dressed a chimp in maple leaf underwear, thrown it out there, and it would have filled Storm's role in those matches.

Oh boo fucking hoo Lance.

You got a big push last winter and it failed. He should be lucky to be employed

I have to agree with brother_barron here. Lance Storm is so INSANELY over-rated it is not funny. I mean, if he was on par with say, Chris Benoit, like some people make him out to be, then I would be all for his mistreatment. Fact of the matter is, Storm is a mediocre worker at best and doesn't deserve to take up the TV time of other deserving individuals.

Not that these individuals GET the TV time, but hey, I'm banking a quad gets torn this Sunday and someone will be forced to step up.

Ah fuck, who am I kidding?

Storm Sucks.

I actually think Storm is a better mic worker than he is a wrestler. I've never really liked his matches but I loved some of his promos in WCW. I remember marking out for his promo where he declared Team Canada's allegiance to Flair's faction and the crowd just booed the shit out of him.

Wait the Unamericans were not pushed. They got cheap wins and were made to look like fools. Hell there push ended with Christian and Storm both jobbing back to back to Randy f'n Orton. And the fucker screwed up his finishing move and shoulder in that match!

Lance has had a few good matches in WWE. But they come few and far between

as i said, the only time they really let him go was at summerslam. he performed quite handsomely, & they haven't given him the chance since.

Eh, the SummerSlam match was alright.

I think he isn't doing well because he has to work the WWE style. He has some of the worst punches there are, so there goes half of the moves.

The only match I've seen where he was given any time was against Edge, and it was very good. Thus, tagging with Christian and tagging with Regal are not pushes I can evaluate his sucking or lack of sucking with. I think he needs to tag with a spot-orientated wrestler so they can balance their tag matches between matwork and power moves etc.

As for Rico, this is just what he needs.

Storm is one of those guys that a company has to expand a great deal of effort in order to get over. In WCW it took him winning three titles in his first month or so in a company. ECW had him as part of a dominant tag team before he really got a reaction. SMW had music videos out the ass for the guy and Jericho. WWE just doesn't want to go to the same effort considering they have guys that can and do get over on their own under similar circumstances. Quite honestly, Storm has not made anything out of the little he's been given so I can see not being in a great hurry to give him a larger role.

Lance has every right to be pissed. They give the women and Rodney Mack get time, but there is not enough time for Lance Storm??? This proves that the WWE loves giving fans shit instead of WRESTLING. As for Rico, the Adrian Street style gimmick should hopefully be awesome.....

Mirko would destroy the whole roster!

..and on the other subject, Rico as a rehash of Exotic Adrian Street would be awesome. He [street] did that gimmick to a T back in the day. Better than Adrian Adonis, IMO, and I'd like to see how Rico'd pull it off. I think he has the mannerisms down pat already due to his run with B&C.

I'm not saying it was Lance's fault. But he got a push and failed to get over from that push.

Why should WWE give him ANOTHER one?

I'd say you just answered your own question- it wasn't his fault. First off I wouldn't call the Un-Americans a push, it was a ridiculous cheap heat gimmick. Team Canada in WCW was funny. The Hart Foundation was thought provoking and complex. The Un-Americans angle was cashing in on blind redneck patriotism, nothing more. Plus they couldn't even let Storm be leader like in WCW, he played 3rd banana to Test and Christian of all people.

Combine this with the fact they neutered all his catchphrases, gave him a fruity new outfit and no matches exceeding 3 minutes and you blame him for not being as over as he was in WCW and ECW? And he was very over at one time, despite what revisionist history will tell you.

To this day I can't believe that at one point WWE had Storm, Justin Credible and Dawn Marie all under contract at the same time doing absolutely nothing and still wouldn't pull the trigger on an Impact Players reunion. (And yes, the Un-Americans counts as doing nothing as I've already explained.)

Christian leading would NOT be a bad thing. He was the most over of the three and the best mic worker as well. All in all, the leader was TEST, because Lance and Christian were stuck in the tag ranks while Test wrestled Undertaker. *Sigh*

Sorry, I don't think any of the 3 were over at the time. And I never have understood all the love Christian gets around here, but Storm is better on the mic. Yeah he's boring and bland- but that's the point. I've always said he's like a wrestling version of Principal Skinner. Would any Simpsons fan say Skinner isn't funny? As long as we agree the leader shouldn't have been Test. :bonk:

If they insisted on doing that stupid ass stable, it should've been:

Storm: the "charismatic" leader

Christian: the smart-ass little sidekick

Test: the pretty-boy enforcer

But since Vince loves the big guys... you know the rest.

Nah. Storm's good on the mic but Christian is better.

But, yeah, let's agree that Test should have NEVER been considered the leader.

I think that Storm is one of the few people in WWE who would truly benefit from leaving and joining NWA:TNA.

If he was on the indy circuit he would automatically be over due to his name value and be allowed to work on the mike an in the ring. Let hgim build his name back up, and then return to WWE in a few years if he thinks he'll be in a better position.

Storm, for all his qualities, is never going to get over without a decent push.

Vince: Lance, pushes like everything else in this business is cyclical. It’s like a rollercoaster, there’s ups and downs. You just happen to be on a steep drop for the next 2 years or so.

It's a shame because I enjoyed Storm in ECW and WCW. One of my favorite deliveries was his "If I could be serious for a minute..."

Storm as Hurricane's arch nemesis would rule.

Lance(in his serious voice):

"Hurricane! I know your TRUE identity"

"Are you prepared to die Mr. Helms...muahaha"

"You will never stop me HURRICANE!"

"You may have foiled my plans this time Hurricane! but it's not over!"

Well, this is one instance where we can say WCW utilized its talent better than WWE. In his first few weeks Lance held the US, Cruiserweight and Hardcore title, all the while "Canadianizing" them garnering him much heat. Lance Storm can get over given the right gimmick and match time

Actually, Storm WOULD make a cool supervillian, since he's already got the mannerisms down.

I could see this working. Although, it would get both people over, and thusly HHH would squash it before it starts. :(

But would you still call him "Lance Storm" and play up the weather phenomenon gimmick?

The best would be for JR to be the total straight man and say "Oh for christsakes we all know it's Lance Storm, and the Hurricane is Gregory Helms" and have King get on his nerves, and have Helms be totally oblivious.

You may not BE saying it, but it sure LOOKS like you're saying it. You contradict yourself there, too. Saying it's not Lance's fault - yet for some reason he doesn't deserve another chance. But, if it wasn't his fault, then why doesn't he deserve the chance?

What was the guy supposed to do? Perform a miracle and somehow force the fans to accept the gimmick and get him over? He worked with what he was given and it failed. Just because IT failed, doesn't mean he doesn't deserve ANOTHER chance.

I don't think it's fair (or accurate) to say that the Regal / Storm tag team ended because it failed to get over. If memory serves, both were still tag champs when Regal came down with monkeypox (or whatever illness he has) and that necessitated Morley to step in.

If that team wasn't over, it had more to do with the fact that they were feuding with the Dudleys, who are so goddamn stale that they couldn't draw flies if they were covered in shit.

In my opinion, Storm is much LESS overrated than is Christian.

And I'm with the majority here when I say that Rico with the Adrian Street gimmick sounds fantastic.

His first match in the WWF at InVasion in a tag with Mike Awesome against Edge and Christian was very good as well. Not great, but good.

I personally like Lance Storm as he has good ring work and it's hard to get over being Regal's sidekick or being paired with "despite my very good looks and voice, I can't get over" Morley.

As far as Rico, I haven't and probably won't ever give a shit about him. Despite all his fantastic ring work, he's shown nothing impressive to me.
