Guest Polish_Rifle Posted June 20, 2003 Report Posted June 20, 2003 I don’t think it’s that bad. Let’s just hope they make the belt credible on tv.
Guest Youth N Asia Posted June 20, 2003 Report Posted June 20, 2003 I haven't liked a new belt lately. I don't like the WWE title. I liked the big round belt they had after Wrestlemania 14. I hate the RAW tag titles. The belts before that had pretty much gone unchanged for 20 years, I liked those. Don't like the cruiser belt as much as the WCW cruiser belt. The IC belt looks the same, but just a little bigger. Looks cartoonish on Christian. And the womans title...wait...I don't care.
The Dames Posted June 20, 2003 Report Posted June 20, 2003 I miss this belt: Yes, that was a cheap excuse to post a picture. I really don't like the new design though. Dames
Guest Youth N Asia Posted June 20, 2003 Report Posted June 20, 2003 I have that belt...but no scanner
Guest mach7 Posted June 20, 2003 Report Posted June 20, 2003 Eddy is American, born in El Paso IIRC. Well, last I checked he was born in Juarez, Mexico. He only lives in El Paso... http://www.canoe.ca/WrestlingStarBios/guer...rero_eddie.html
Guest netslob Posted June 20, 2003 Report Posted June 20, 2003 yeah this belt looks too much like the old Lightheavyweight belt, with the triangular bottom to it. never cared for that design. i woulda stuck with the old design, or a variation of it. but it'll do.

He only lives in El Paso... http://www.canoe.ca/WrestlingStarBios/guer...rero_eddie.html does it matter WWE LOGIC Eddy is from Mexico. same with Rey...They'll ignore the 619 San Diego thing for the sake of the angle... I mean Funaki is Texan but they wont tell ya that...

Guest The Hollywood Fashion Plate Posted June 20, 2003 Report Posted June 20, 2003 I like how the side plates feature someone (Washington?) and the Statue of Liberty....it's a nice touch I think. Also, I like how the corners of all the plates have stars on them.
Just John Posted June 20, 2003 Report Posted June 20, 2003 Good Idea: Bringing back the U.S. title Bad Idea: Letting Bradshaw design the belt.
Guest JMTapes Posted June 20, 2003 Report Posted June 20, 2003 Who fuckin cares what it looks like. When this thing is all said and done, the belt will be worth about as much as a dead dog's dick.
Guest Showstoppa Icon Posted June 20, 2003 Report Posted June 20, 2003 i agree w/ YNA's view that basically all the new belt designs are shit. But i do like the new SD tag title design. Even though its basically the old wwf tag titles in blue
Guest The Tino Standard Posted June 21, 2003 Report Posted June 21, 2003 Someone needs to explain the Raw tag titles to me. They are referred to as the "World Tag Team" titles. Fine. The top belt is the World belt, so make the tag belts the World Tag belts. Good deal. But....... If you are going to design new belts, why have the new ones say "WWE Tag Team Champions"? The WWE Tag Team Champions are on Smackdown. And by the way, the old tag team belts had the WWE logo, but they also had "WORLD" in big letters. And speaking of those old belts, why are they still shown in the championship match graphic? Didn't the new Raw belts come around back at Survivor Series?
Guest Showstoppa Icon Posted June 21, 2003 Report Posted June 21, 2003 And speaking of those old belts, why are they still shown in the championship match graphic? Didn't the new Raw belts come around back at Survivor Series? they still showed the graphic of the WCW CW title for the WWE CW title for months. WWE boggles me constantly.
Guest papacita Posted June 21, 2003 Report Posted June 21, 2003 I like the belt. Not as good as the original and I'm worried that someone might get impaled on that edge, but it's not that bad.
Guest croweater Posted June 21, 2003 Report Posted June 21, 2003 The belt is ugly, but then again so's benoit, so it'll be a match made in heaven. I hate the idea of a US title. Being non- US it instantly devalues it in my eyes. If anything it would suit the NWA as they are NATIONAL not WORLD. A tv title would be a much better idea, or even a international title or a patriotic title or something as opposed to a US title, because all it leads to is all the US vs THE WORLD crap that we get fed so much and I personally hate (discluding the heart foundation which I am and forever will be a mark for).
Guest Youth N Asia Posted June 21, 2003 Report Posted June 21, 2003 I liked it when the IC and US titles meant that they were the #1 contenders for the world title. Wish they would bring that back.
Guest OnlyMe Posted June 21, 2003 Report Posted June 21, 2003 I liked it when the IC and US titles meant that they were the #1 contenders for the world title. Wish they would bring that back. They should have a #1 contender's belt or something - something tangible, anyway - so that there's a reason for people to get a title shot.
Guest Choken One Posted June 21, 2003 Report Posted June 21, 2003 U mean Attacking the champion doesn't work? Ballcocks I say.
Guest Youth N Asia Posted June 21, 2003 Report Posted June 21, 2003 U mean Attacking the champion doesn't work? Ballcocks I say. Yeah, I know sitting on the shelf for a year and doing a run-in to be number one contender MAKES sense and all...but for some reason I like my way better.
Guest The Hollywood Fashion Plate Posted June 21, 2003 Report Posted June 21, 2003 I don't have a problem with the current WWE logic in that regard: I mean, Nash IS a former multi-time world champion, so he gets a higher priority for getting title shots than say Donovan Cade. In the marks' eyes, ex-champions can ALWAYS get a title shot when they want to (unless they just had one and lost like the PPV before). Look at Backlash '02: nobody except the smarks really complained when Hogan was given the title shot. Why? Because the marks reasoned that Hulk friggin' Hogan can get a title shot wenver he wants because of his past accomplishments. If the guy really doesn't deserve the shot, they think, then he'll get his ass handed to him. Oh, and I love the World Tag Team Title belts because the main plate has this really cool Atlas figure on both sides of the globe in the center holding it up, but you usually can't see that on camera.
TheFranchise Posted June 21, 2003 Report Posted June 21, 2003 U mean Attacking the champion doesn't work? Ballcocks I say. Yeah, I know sitting on the shelf for a year and doing a run-in to be number one contender MAKES sense and all...but for some reason I like my way better. Walk-In
Guest OnlyMe Posted June 21, 2003 Report Posted June 21, 2003 Look at Backlash '02: nobody except the smarks really complained when Hogan was given the title shot. Why? Because the marks reasoned that Hulk friggin' Hogan can get a title shot wenver he wants because of his past accomplishments. Yeah, but leading up to Backlash '02, Hogan was WAY over. Nash... isn't.
Lil' Bitch Posted June 21, 2003 Report Posted June 21, 2003 I agree, they should have used the WCW belt instead.
Garth Posted June 21, 2003 Report Posted June 21, 2003 I actually kinda like the new US title, its pretty much agreed its not as cool as the old US title. At least its very different looking its not like any other belt around at the moment which is a good thing.
Guest the 1inch punch Posted June 21, 2003 Report Posted June 21, 2003 Im the only person who likes the Undisputed Title belt?
TheFranchise Posted June 21, 2003 Report Posted June 21, 2003 Yeah, but leading up to Backlash '02, Hogan was WAY over That STILL amazes me how over that man was.
Guest Choken One Posted June 22, 2003 Report Posted June 22, 2003 why? The guy was not only gone from Wrestling for 2 years but gone from WWE for almost 10 years... Why wouldnt the guy be that over...
