Guest saturnmark4life Posted July 15, 2003 Report Posted July 15, 2003 The White Stripes bore the shit out of me, one of the worst live shows I've ever seen. And from what I've seen of their other performances, they are a good live band, but when I saw em they decided to suck. I'm bitter. The Hives are a harmless comedy band with a fine live show, and the strokes made a good album that was subsequently destroyed by hype, and their live show is nothing special.
Guest Kibagami Posted July 15, 2003 Report Posted July 15, 2003 Trapt's really, really bad. That "Headstrong" crap is even worse. Death upon their pets. K.
Guest Choken One Posted July 15, 2003 Report Posted July 15, 2003 I like to change my vote to That damn Linkin Park song where Justin Timberlake does "I WILL NOT BE IGNORED!"
Guest Dangerous A Posted July 15, 2003 Report Posted July 15, 2003 I liked Linkin Park's second album, somewhat. The song Choken is talking about is annoying and I usually skip it. However, Justin Timberfake is not on the song and should never be allowed around LP, period. As someone mentioned earlier, I don't know if Avril Lavigne Sk8ter boy was released last year or this year, but that song eats dog shit. Avril is listenable when I'm in a Top 40 mood, but that song is unbearable. I'd rather listen to animals dying slowly.
Guest Choken One Posted July 15, 2003 Report Posted July 15, 2003 I'll take Justin Timberlake (the real one not the Chester Kid) over LP.
Guest Dangerous A Posted July 16, 2003 Report Posted July 16, 2003 I'll take Justin Timberlake (the real one not the Chester Kid) over LP. How unfortunate.
Guest Choken One Posted July 16, 2003 Report Posted July 16, 2003 Good Beats goes over Bland Nu Metal with shitty rapping.
Guest Vyce Posted July 16, 2003 Report Posted July 16, 2003 Good Charlotte...New Found Glory...Simple Plan...Sum 41...Strokes...Vines...Hives...White Stripes...Coldplay...Saliva...Soul Empty Smile... Other Radio Friendly "rock" mtv bands... Coldplay is good, though, and White Stripes has their moments. And The Hives amuse me. the strokes made a good album that was subsequently destroyed by hype Boy were they. I didn't catch the "best band since the Stones" comment from anyone, but I did hear one critic gush that they were the best band to come out of New York since the Ramones. Upon reading this, I proceeded to rip up the magazine it was printed in. Into little bitty pieces. The staff at Barnes & Noble was not pleased.
Guest Choken One Posted July 16, 2003 Report Posted July 16, 2003 I am *THIS* close to kicking you off SOH TRIAD with that Coldplay is good shit...but you redeem yourself with your Mag ripping.
Guest Dangerous A Posted July 16, 2003 Report Posted July 16, 2003 Good Beats goes over Bland Nu Metal with shitty rapping. To each his own. Bland Nu Metal with shitty rapping > bitch ass motherfucker who beat boxes, has overrated beats, and thinks he's black
rising up out of the back seat-nuh Posted July 16, 2003 Report Posted July 16, 2003 Timberlake is the Mack Daddy. And more importantly, Timba and N.E.R.D. write his songs. I defy anyone to suck with that backing. Apart from Noreaga.
Guest Edwin MacPhisto Posted July 16, 2003 Report Posted July 16, 2003 Timberlake rules. All the singles are great, and though the rest of the album is kinda weak from the smatterings I've heard, I think there's potential there. I'd call it a guilty pleasure, except that I think it's actually pretty well-done and there's not much guilt to be had.

Guest Kibagami Posted July 16, 2003 Report Posted July 16, 2003 I just saw the new Good Charlotte video. Can I cast two votes? I need two votes. K.
Guest La Parka Es Mi Papa Posted July 16, 2003 Report Posted July 16, 2003 Agreed on Trapt. Headstrong is such a horrible song.
B. Brian Brunzell Posted July 16, 2003 Report Posted July 16, 2003 I just saw the new Good Charlotte video. Can I cast two votes? I need two votes. K. Isn't that just one of the worst songs you've ever heard, Kib? And the chorus may be, no, it *IS* the worst chorus of all-time.
Guest Kibagami Posted July 16, 2003 Report Posted July 16, 2003 It truly is. Normally I'd wish some sort of obviously comical death on a band for creating something this bad, but this board has a tendency to get its collective panties in a bunch over such harsh language, so I'll settle for "I hope these guys are embarassed on some sort of national level and eventually self-destruct because of it." K.
Guest Choken One Posted July 16, 2003 Report Posted July 16, 2003 Which video? they are all so so so so stupid.. Esp. the Boys AND girls video.
Guest mesepher Posted July 16, 2003 Report Posted July 16, 2003 it seems like music is the only profession where the worse you are at it, the more successful you are. Scary.

Guest Prototype450 Posted July 16, 2003 Report Posted July 16, 2003 I like Headstrong, gets me pumped for wrestling meets. Any song Ashanti has done this year is bad. ALL her song are her goin aww baby 500 times over! jesus bitch you can't sing! J'Lo can sing better than her and she sucks bad!
Guest Prototype450 Posted July 16, 2003 Report Posted July 16, 2003 I like to change my vote to That damn Linkin Park song where Justin Timberlake does "I WILL NOT BE IGNORED!" Choken ONe that song is called Faint. I think Linkin Park would be so much better if Fester er Chester wasn't screaming like a little girl on her period who's a severed head. Ok that was a little extreme but anyway......... Linkin Park's songs have great beats and Mike Shinoda has a good flow but chester should just be deleted or something. I hate that fucker. EDIT: I meant to say that the little girl FOUND a severed head. Thank God I caught that some of you might think i'd be a sick puppy.
Guest saturnmark4life Posted July 16, 2003 Report Posted July 16, 2003 Justin Timberlake is an unapologetic pop musician, and I challenge you to find another contemporary pop artist of his kind with any level of talent approaching his. Linkin Park are trying to be things they are not ie 'Good', and are also plagued by various illusions, such as 'There's a reason for us'. He wins every time.
Guest Flyboy Posted July 16, 2003 Report Posted July 16, 2003 (edited) Justin Timberlake ownz it. I have Justified. The first track ("Senorita") is blazin'... especially the end of it. Edited July 16, 2003 by Flyboy

Beyonce. A Justin/Beyonce duet would own so much...
Guest saturnmark4life Posted July 16, 2003 Report Posted July 16, 2003 Nah...I've never 'got' Beyonce. LFO~!
rising up out of the back seat-nuh Posted July 16, 2003 Report Posted July 16, 2003 Robbie Williams~!!!! [/sarcasm]
Guest Choken One Posted July 16, 2003 Report Posted July 16, 2003 Anyone hear that Nick Carter dude? Not bad although I don't think Rock is in his future but not bad all things considering he was a fucking a BSB.
Guest SweetNSexyDiva Posted July 17, 2003 Report Posted July 17, 2003 ANYTHING by Hillary Duff... How did this girl end up on the list of the hottest teen idols on VH1? Okay, I know some of you guys are drooling over this minor, but as far as talent goes..... minor is definitely the right word!
