Guest wrestlingbs Report post Posted July 25, 2003 Seeing Sean O' Haire briefly on Smackdown tonight reminded me that it was only a month ago that this guy was starting to get a huge push with Roddy Rod Piper at his side. However, with Piper gone the WWE did in this situation what they normally do: ignore it. So SOH disappeared, and so did his push. It's kind of a shame, since Sean really seems to be getting into character and at the very least he'd be a good tag team partner. Who else has had their legs cut from under them because of a missing partner or manager? Some ideas... K Kwick (aka Ron "the Truth" Killings): The guy wasn't doing great with Road Dogg, but when RD got busted for mary jane he totally disappeared. Chuck Palumbo: Until he turned gay with Gunn, Palumbo drifted in limbo after SOH went to OVW.
Guest The Czech Republic Report post Posted July 25, 2003 Christian has done his share of comparative languishing.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted July 25, 2003 Yeah...X anit done shit but cut his locks and suck even more... But I don't think X/EDGE break up applies here because there are countless source material for the route.
Guest wrestlingbs Report post Posted July 25, 2003 I'm thinking more along th lines of people who lost a partner by force (left, fired, injured) rather than by creative decision. The WWE split up Edge and Christian.
B. Brian Brunzell 0 Report post Posted July 25, 2003 It could happen to chavo when he comes back from injury. I don't want it to happen, but it probably will.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted July 25, 2003 Well Chavo could always just go back to CW or still be asstociated with Eddy.

Guest Choken One Report post Posted July 25, 2003 Again...that was WWE's decison not by circumstances.
Guest JMA Report post Posted July 25, 2003 I think Rosey has actually benefited from his partner leaving.
Guest Austin3164life Report post Posted July 25, 2003 The most obvious one I can think of is Marty Jannety. As much as I hate to say it, Brock Lesnar is suffering slowly from Heyman's departure and his face turn. While he has been a pretty good champion, he has no true direction and his charisma hasn't really developed much.
boobshaw 0 Report post Posted July 25, 2003 Well who is currently active whose partner left by circumstances? I mean, should we include Al Snow due to Blackman's injury (extreme example). I need a list here damnit!
Guest Choken One Report post Posted July 25, 2003 Again...Mart/Shawn was an booked split... It wasn't an case of circumstances... Although he did himself in.

boobshaw 0 Report post Posted July 25, 2003 Yes, yes it was. But, back to topic... we have already established the following as having their partner leave by circumstance: O'Haire Chavo Rosey But what about: Funaki (With Taka) Nathan Jones Obviously we know where Funaki is right now, but don't forget that Nathan Jones was only "injured" because the Undertaker got injured. If UT didn't hurt his elbow we may still be seeing Jones on our TV right now. Who else falls into this category?

Lil' Bitch 0 Report post Posted July 25, 2003 Need we not forget D-Von's failed stint as Reverend I will admit I was one of few people who liked the evil Rev. gimmick Anyway, Benoit is a must add here. He was doing great and was help with being pushed to the top when Heyman was around. Ever since Paul E. left, Benoit's 2003 run has been fed to the political lions. I don't recall them being partners in WCW when Eddy left with the injury and the rehab... And Chavo screwed Eddy by his injury.

Guest Retro Rob Report post Posted July 25, 2003 Without Matt Hardy, Jeff lost any sense of psychology in his matches and became a guy with one cool spot, that wasn't even cool anymore since we had been seeing it for 4 years. Their breakup definitely proved that Matt was always the superior Hardy Boy.

If his theme was changed to RATM "Testify", it would have got a laugh from me. But that wouldn't change my feelings for the gimmick. The Dudleys are better off together, for both of them. I think Matt was just superior solo... and he moved to Smackdown, where there was a title for cruiserweights, while Jeff stayed in Raw.

Plus I had been hearing a lot of talk about how Jeff was Shawn to Matt's Marty. Personally I never saw it, and really didn't like either of them until they split. I am definately an MFer now.. Guest Goose749 Report post Posted July 25, 2003 I also never really liked the v1.0 gimmick. The best thing about it was an entrance theme by my favorite band, Monster Magnet. Dave Wyndorf kicks ass.
