God, I finally got the box set for the first season, and I just can't help but talk about it. This season was the best television ever produced in the genre, and even rivals the first season of the Sopranos for the best season of any show I've ever season. The second season catches glimmers every now and then, but it's just not the same at all.

You've got to be kidding me. Theirs nothing groundbreaking about the writing in OC season 1. And their's nothing that puts it on the level of shows like Seinfield, the Simpsons, BTVS, Sopranos, Six Feet Under, Entourage, Rescue Me, Nip Tuck, and if you want to go old school theirs at least a 100 shows better than the OC. OC has 3 interesting characters and 4 decent actors, it has nowhere near the quality ensamble cast that's going to make it memorable.

Oh and for the genre?

Freaks and Geeks season 1> OC season 1

Dawson's Creek seasons 1/3>> OC season 1

Smallville season 3 (if you want to count it)>> OC season 1

Beverly Hills 90210 seasons 2/3>> OC season 1

My So Called Life every season> OC season 1

All that post did was make it easier not to listen to you in the future.

I missed the first 1/2 hour getting food, anyone got a mini-recap?

Trey survived. Is in a coma.

Police are still investigating the shooting.

Kirsten is cleared to leave rehab but she's not ready to leave and has a new friend there played by Jeri Ryan, who adds to MILF hotness.

Trey wakes up from the coma

The gang goes sailing and have one last "good time" just in case...

Julie pays Trey off to lie to the cops...

I guess you would of preferred me to say "OC rocks! hell yeah!" I'm sorry but theirs some serious issues if a guy says OC is one of the greatest shows ever and people actually agree with that.

It is not even the best teen show ever. The 2nd season was worse than the 1rst.

Dawsons Creek and Smallville? Come on.

DC was fucking brilliant the first season and 1/2.

Overall, tonight's episode was a good sampler show that was just to wrap last season up.

I tried to watch Smallville a few times, but it was too boring; I never really got too into it. Dawson's Creek was kind of interesting, but the dialogue was consistently terrible, and the show took itself way too seriously. The characters just never talked like real people, and it was hardly ever funny either.

The first season of the OC was an awesome, funny, clever show that was always insightful, and almost never boring or cliche. The early episodes in particular were excellent in terms of a show actually living up to its potential in taking a basic story and telling it perfectly. If you want to talk shit about the second or third seasons, I really can't defend those, but the first season was awesome.

Speaking of the third season, I have to say that this episode was pretty disappointing. We've basically got everybody laughing and giggling during a murder investigation with Ryan not even really seeming to care that he might spend his life in jail, followed by some forced scene where Ryan laments Trey leaving town. And don't even get me started on Kirsten in rehab. I really don't see much positive potential for this season at all.

The reason Ryan doesn't appear to "care" is because he has a lifetime of low expecatations. For him, this was inevitable.

You can't judge this season by the first episode that was completely devoted to wrapping up last season's loose ends.

Coldplay - Fix Your

Thought people would ask about the song.

It's not that, the song is Blue Light by Bloc Party ( Engineers "Anti-Gravity" Mix )

Why would you compare season 3 of Smallville to OC? Besides 'Perry' and the Chris Reeves episodes, that year isn't a patch on the first two seasons.

I thought the episode would've been better if Julie ended up killing Trey after he had a natural change of heart (no Marissa visit, set up by a video montage of he and Ryan's younger years, *SNIFF*).

Instead of "Trey gets on a bus".

Good show, though. The chick from Boston Public, Jeri Ryan, has a SMOKING BODY but the face of a GREMLIN. She scares me.

I had figured Jimmy would turn Julie in to the cops/the DA, but judging by the previews for next week it looks like he's not been the model citizen he tried to be.

I was satisfied with the Trey leaving. I was really hoping that he wouldn't get off the bus or something, because ok, they're brothers, but after what Trey did, it's better to have him try and make up for it and be done with it, rather than have the two try to "work their problems out".

Tonight was just another great episode and really got this season rolling now after a slow first episode. Just superb. So much happened in this episode tonight.

well, nothing else was on, so I watched the OC.

And they're all sooooo hot. Geri Ryan gave me a hot lesbian vibe. Marisa's mom was Velasca on Xena (:X). Goddamn, what a woman.

oh, the show itself was good too. They played Death Cab and Franz Ferdinand, which was kinda cool.

I never understood the Jeri Ryan attraction, and I still don't.

The trekkies and everyone seems to love her, but I always found her to be rather...bah looking. She's not ugly and seems to have a nice body, but she has never impressed me.

She's not one of my favorites, but I sure as hell wouldn't kick her out of bed.

Well, of course I wouldn't either, but that's not saying much.

A woman would have to be dog fucking ugly, for a guy to say "no i don't want sex". Even then, alot of guys will likely say "fuck it" and hope no one finds out.

I thought the episode was great as well. You just knew Ryan was gonna snap on that dickhead dean guy.

I still can't figure out what Charlotte's motive is for keeping Kirsten away from home. I thought the bit with Summer competing with the stuckup bitch was pretty funny.

Good ep. This season is off to a good start. Next week looks really good as well.

I was kind of tired, so I actually ended up taking a nap during the OC last week, considering how disappointed I was in the first episode of the season.

However, from the sounds of things, it looks like they might be doing a little better job, so I'll make sure to give the OC another try next week.

I'm guessing either she's gonna try and Single White Female her...or it's gonna be a lesbian fatal attraction thing

Knowing how Television works out, I bet she turns out to be the daughter/widow of one of Caleb's old business partners that he screwed over and she's getting revenge on her by driving her back into alcholism and ruining that family or something.

Taylor/Dean was obvious from the start and OC usually has a track record of being obvious such as tonight with the whole will thing which was obvious from the minute they mentioned a will.

As for the spin-off, the creator of the show talked about it in a interview with Bill Simmons of ESPN Page 2 and acknowledged that they are planning a spin-off for The little sister but not until at least season five...
