Guest ShamRock Posted August 14, 2003 Report Posted August 14, 2003 Log-in E-mail does not work, I guess I'm off the hook.
Guest Lethargic Posted August 14, 2003 Report Posted August 14, 2003 How long does it take before you start getting refunds for the things you've cancelled?
SpikeFayeJettEdBebop Posted August 14, 2003 Report Posted August 14, 2003 It depends.......Hvae many of you read everything on the offers????I don't blame you....2-3 Days on some.....I have no ideas on others..but i have not done the offer yet and I just picked up the Sopranos 3rd Season.......for 80 bucks. See, I payed and got EXACTLY what I wanted and im not paying physcics(Spelling sucked on that one)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Guest Lethargic Posted August 14, 2003 Report Posted August 14, 2003 Well, today I found another 29.95 charge on my Visa. So that's 2 charges of 39.95 and 1 29.95 charge so far. I still don't know what they are so I can't look into it yet. They're still listed as unposted transactions I won't know where it's from until they get posted into my account. I also found a charge on my other card that's for Essentials which I did NOT sign up for at all. I knew this shit was too good to be true.
Bruiser Chong Posted August 14, 2003 Report Posted August 14, 2003 How are you finding these charges? I'd like to see if I'm being charged for any of these things, as well.
Guest Lethargic Posted August 14, 2003 Report Posted August 14, 2003 Looking at my bank account and my paypal account.
Bruiser Chong Posted August 15, 2003 Report Posted August 15, 2003 Well, I think DH should get out here and explain a few things, because if I check my account tomorrow and I have charges on there that aren't supposed to be there, I'm gonna be pissed. This is beginning to sound more and more like a scam.
Downhome Posted August 15, 2003 Report Posted August 15, 2003 First off, calm down. Let me know which offers have charged you, and all of that. It should not be any of the ones listed in the guide, as I've been doing it for two months and if you did as I said, did the offers I said and then cancelled them, everything will be fine. Â The point of the guide, as I said, was to show you how not to get screwed, I was showing the offers that I have done and the ones I found to work perfectly. Â If you have ANY charges against you, don't worry about it. Just contact the company which issued the charges, and let them know what's going on. They will credit you back, it shouldn't be a big deal. Â If you have small charges, $6 or less, they are just pending and will go away in a few days to a week or so. Â Just contact the company that charged you fees you did not agree to, and they'll take care of it. While your at it, say you're going to contact BBB about them, and that will REALLY get them to take care of it (I know that only because I've had to do so for other things before, NOT this DVD deal). Â It'll all be ok, just be cool and contact everyone and let them know what's going on. If you need ANY help about contacting any of them, or anything else, let me know. Â Whatever you do though, let me know whoever charged you so I can note which offers to NEVER do.
Guest Lethargic Posted August 15, 2003 Report Posted August 15, 2003 The two offers that caused the most trouble were WinAnyLotto and Driving4Dollars. I know it's those two because those two wouldn't take anything except for Visa so I was forced to use my debit card instead of my normal Paypal Mastercard. Â So D4D was supposed to be 2.95, and Lotto was free. I sign up, cancel, then go look later on and there are those two 39.95 charges PLUS the 2.95 one. I thought maybe I screwed up and hit the join for one month thing, but yet, the 2.95 charge is there to prove I chose only one day. The next day another charge for 2.64 showed up, have no idea what that is. Later that night a 29.95 charge showed up, have no idea what that is either. But like I said, none of them have posted into my account yet so I still don't know exactly what they are. When they're listed in the pending transactions they just say it's a debit purchase, once it posts it'll tell me what company it is so I'll know if it's ChettleInvestments or whatever it is or not and know I need to contact them. So either those two are charging me something or somebody has stolen my number through this stuff somehow cause I haven't used it for anything to be getting charges on my bill. Â On my regular mastercard I've been using except for those two offers, it's only minor problems. I have a 1 dollar charge for the Essentials offer, that I did not sign up for. I got charged the dollar fee to join Homworks twice. I got charged a dollar by the AOL offer that said it was free. And it's been a week since I started doing it and I haven't seen anything refunded yet.
Guest Lethargic Posted August 16, 2003 Report Posted August 16, 2003 It's official, the transactions have been posted into my account and they're all from ChettleInvestments. So I sent them this email.... Â A few days ago I signed up for the one day trail offers for WinAnyLotto and Driving4Dollars through your site. I later cancelled these trails. D4D was supposed to be 2.95 for the trail and Lotto was supposed to be free. I just checked my bill and not only do I have the charge for 2.95 but I also have a 39.95 charge as well as a 29.95 charge, a 2.68 and a 1.00 charge all from your company. That's a grand total of 76.53 for a trail membership that was supposed to only cost me 2.95. I cancelled both these offers probably less than an hour after signing up for them so I would like to find out why I'm getting these charges and get them stopped.
bobobrazil1984 Posted August 16, 2003 Report Posted August 16, 2003 My credit card online thing says I have almost 80.00 of charges that are authorized but not yet posted..... Â I already cancelled psychics4free and freebidding, but it looks like they are the ones that these authorized charges are from... Â what gives? Â I emailed them both and even forwarded my cancellation confirmations asking to confirm that I won't get charged (other than the 1.00 apiece paycom charges). Â Will these charges get posted to my account??? It seems like they will eventually, that's what authorized but not charged means. This is really upsetting to me as I wont be able to afford 80 bucks worth of charges for something like this, especially with the new semester starting soon. Anybody else have this problem?

Did you not go to https://www.billingsupport.com/cancel2.html and cancel there as I told you to in the guide?  If you did that for FreeBidding and Psychics4Free, you will not be charged.
bobobrazil1984 Posted August 16, 2003 Report Posted August 16, 2003 yeah i did, at that site. multiple times actually. (yeah i'm paranoid)
the max Posted August 17, 2003 Report Posted August 17, 2003 My stuff came yesterday. Phone Booth, Bringing Down the House, and Made came, in plastic packaging, safely wrapped in cardboard. Â Aside from Phone Booth's audio possibly being fucked up, it's all good.
Bruiser Chong Posted August 17, 2003 Report Posted August 17, 2003 And all it cost you were 32 charges of $29.95. Â I've got 520 points, and I haven't been credited with points from other things I've done. I'm going to be calling on Monday to see if any charges were, and if there have been, I'll be pissed, because I'm positive I cancelled.
the max Posted August 17, 2003 Report Posted August 17, 2003 I just wrote down cancellation confirmation numbers, the people I talked to, the dates, etc. when I cancelled and got myself 1800 points. Â If there are any charges, I'm going to be pissed, but I'll have ammo to back myself up.
Guest Lethargic Posted August 17, 2003 Report Posted August 17, 2003 I got my first DVD the other day. A LOT quicker than I thought it would be. If they're always this fast I should already have the Elm Street box set sometime this week. This week's movies sure do suck. Already got Chicago so it's either All That Jazz or Bowling for Columbine. What a choice. I guess I'll sit this week out. It seems like all they do is the same offers every week for the bonus DVD so I don't wanna waste them on something I don't really want. Â I finally got AOL cancelled. Somebody easy answered the phone this time. Plus it was really easy to cancell Homeworks and Connections. Those people were easy. Now as long as those other people don't give me any crap about those wrong charges, everything should be fine.
the max Posted August 18, 2003 Report Posted August 18, 2003 DH: I noticed that a few sites charged me a dollar on my account statement. This all gets credited back to me, right?
Guest Lethargic Posted August 18, 2003 Report Posted August 18, 2003 I finally started getting some refunds yesterday. So it takes about a week and a half before you gets any refunds. Â So far, that Chettle place hasn't wrote me back. Guess I'll have to start getting mean in my emails instead of being civil.
the max Posted August 18, 2003 Report Posted August 18, 2003 I mean, a total of 8 dollars doesn't have me going into debt, but I haven't been charged 39.95 like Bruiser and them. Just wondering.
Nighthawk Posted August 19, 2003 Report Posted August 19, 2003 I received The Hunted today. That was damn fast.
Guest Lethargic Posted August 19, 2003 Report Posted August 19, 2003 I ordered Hunted on the 11th and got it on the 16th. That IS fast as hell. Â Anybody know how those credit card offers on there are? Are they easy to cancel?
Downhome Posted August 19, 2003 Report Posted August 19, 2003 I ordered Hunted on the 11th and got it on the 16th. That IS fast as hell. Anybody know how those credit card offers on there are? Are they easy to cancel? If you sign up for an unusual ammount of CCs, it can hurt your credit. I've always left those alone.
Guest Lethargic Posted August 19, 2003 Report Posted August 19, 2003 Yeah, but there's like 8 of them on there for 300 points. Do I want all those free DVDs or do I want good credit? DVDs are in the lead right now!
Bruiser Chong Posted August 20, 2003 Report Posted August 20, 2003 (edited) Well, nevermind this post. Just turns out there's a new email virus going around, that's spamming up everyone's inbox. I thought it was this thing until I read about the virus. Edited August 20, 2003 by Bruiser Chong
Guest Lethargic Posted August 23, 2003 Report Posted August 23, 2003 Well, it took 10 days but I finally got Chettle Investments to give me back my money. Â Recap - I signed up for WinAnyLotto and Driving4Dollars. Cancelled both trails. Ended up getting charged 70 something dollars worth of charges. Â I emailed Chettle Investments, who handle the billing for both sites, and never got a response. Emailed them three times over the past week. Â Last night I got sick of it and went off. I emailed them again and threatened contacting the BBB and/or other legal representation. I also emailed tech support for each of those sites listed above. PLUS the customer support at FreeDVDs4me.com who seemed to be the most help. I told them I knew it wasn't their fault but would appreciate any help they could give. They emailed Chettle and asked them what's up. I suppose that coupled with my threats finally got their attention as they emailed me an hour later and said my money would be refunded in 5 business days. They claimed I didn't cancel the accounts even though I still have the cancel reciepts. They also had me signed up for something I didn't sign up for. Â But apparently it's finally over. Â Also, if you haven't noticed, FreeDVD4Me has another special going. Sign up for only TWO offers and you get either Finding Nemo, Matrix Reloaded or Two Towers for free. Even cooler, it appears that you can even sign up for offers you've already done to complete THIS deal. I signed up for two I already did and it accepted them just fine. Any other time for the normal offers if you do that it won't let you sign up for something you've already done.
OldSchoolWrestling Posted August 25, 2003 Report Posted August 25, 2003 Any other time for the normal offers if you do that it won't let you sign up for something you've already done. How do you know if you can't sign up again? Does it not let you proceed from the main page or do you get a rejection?
Guest Lethargic Posted August 25, 2003 Report Posted August 25, 2003 It goes to a white page that says offer already taken.
Guest ShamRock Posted August 28, 2003 Report Posted August 28, 2003 I just ordered Ronin and it took me to the main page after I ordered it. Is this normal?
