Conspiracy_Victim 0 Report post Posted August 11, 2003 Well at Axxess before WM X-7 Trish was nice (even laughing at our staring and "Uhh"ing) as was Earl Hebner, who was wandering around the AstroHall just looking around. He even laughed and said, "Oh, maybe" when I asked him if he was going to take a ref bump in the main event. After a RAW here in town my friends and I went to the hotel next to the Compaq Center and watched the end of Monday Night Football (it was the "Monday Night Miracle" Packers vs. Vikings) in the bar. We met Dvon Dudley there (nice guy, drinks White Zinfandel of all things) and Michael Cole (also nice, kinda quiet off camera, doesn't drink). Haven't met any real dicks yet. Conspiracy_Victim 0 Report post Posted August 11, 2003 Cole doesn't drink...What a Shocker eh? Actually he came out and told us that his family has a history of alcoholism and that he stayed completely sober because he didn't want to fall into the habit of drinking. Kind of startling that he'd come right out and tell us, but we appreciated the honesty.

Guest Jay Z. Hollywood Report post Posted August 11, 2003 I met Bret at an autograph signing two years ago. Nice guy, and was tolerant of my blind hero worship. (I BOWED to him.) I met Bob Backlund at an amateur wrestling camp. Wouldn't sign an autograph unless I did the "name all 50 presidents backwards" thing. (For some reason he was in kayfabe mode.) But he did demonstrate and do Hindu squats with me, for a TV spot on the "Today" show. Not sure if it ever aired. Got to shake Raven's hand and get an autograph at the last ROH show I went to. No real interaction, but cool nonetheless. I've met a bunch of different indy wrestlers (Red being the most famous). All have been cool. Hopefully I get pics with some at the ROH show. Met WCW ref Scott Dickinson when he came to ref for a small indy (which I later briefly worked for). Got an autograph.
Conspiracy_Victim 0 Report post Posted August 11, 2003 (edited) Hmm..that it could've been. I doubt it though since I'd think D-Von would've called him on it. Even if it was a load of crap, better that than "Piss off I don't want to drink with you!" BTW in case you WEREN'T being sarcastic (I always like to cover my bases and didn't see the obligatory smiley face) I was posting to clarify, so fuck off. If you were being sarcastic, damn you're good at it, and I applaud your efforts. Edited August 11, 2003 by Conspiracy_Victim

Adam 0 Report post Posted August 11, 2003 The closest that I have ever come is talking to Ric Flair over the phone. That was pretty cool, and he was a cool guy.
Guest mickberna Report post Posted August 11, 2003 I just met Tito Santana yesterday working an indy show. He's really nice, very quiet and reserved. I didn't ask for an autograph or anything, just his hometown and weight (I'm the ring announcer). He was taking pictures with kids in the ring, although he did charge for autographed 8x10s. Still, a very nice guy. Arriba!!
teke184 0 Report post Posted August 11, 2003 Ron Simmons, Teddy Long, Chavo Guerrero, Hugh Morrus, and a few others all posed for pictures and signed autographs when I went to the SD house show in Hattiesburg, MS, last year. Billy Gunn, Chuck Palumbo, Chris Jericho, Christian, Albert, and others all did not sign, but circumstances differed. Gunn and Palumbo, then Jericho and Christian, all parked in the players' entranceway to the coliseum and walked in from there. Palumbo didn't look to be in any condition to sign anyway as he appeared drunk. Christian and Jericho heeled it up on the way in, which was helped by Christian Sucks and Jericho Sucks chants. Christian later made comments about the chants in his pre-match promo. Albert came to the coliseum from working out at the Payne Center and just went straight to the coliseum. He just ignored everyone and went in. Almost forgot... Earl Hebner was pissy when he went into the building because a large You Screwed Bret chant broke out. I think he also said something like "I screwed Hulk too"
The Bad Guy 0 Report post Posted August 11, 2003 Cool Guys: Nova - It was in 2000 at an ECW show. The security guys were being assholes and saying that if you didn't buy a twenty-five dollar shirt right then that no one could get through. Nova just waved me and a bunch of others through and signed things and talked. Really cool guy. Vampiro - Signed autographs and talked to everyone after a 2000 WCW Thunder taping. The F.B.I. - Another 2000 ECW show. All of them were extremely nice with Sal E. Graziano probably being the nicest of the bunch. Greg Valentine - Charged for autographs but was willing to have pictures taken and talked to everyone. Great guy. Assholes: [At least when I met them] Bobby Heenan - He just muttered under his breath and never made eye contact with anyone. I've heard that he can be a really nice guy at times, though. David Flair - Just walked right past me and didn't even acknowledge my existence when I asked for an autograph. Chris Chetti - Signed with Nova at the ECW show I mentioned earlier. He refused to even speak or make eye contact with anyone.
Guest Adrian 3:16 Report post Posted August 11, 2003 I met Bret at an autograph signing about 2 years ago. For all the good things I've heard about him with the fans he seemed in a rather dickish mood when I saw him, apparently he was behind schedule for the day on something or other and he wasn't smiling. In fact I could've sworn he glared at a couple people from under his hat. I don't hold it against him though, everyone has bad days (especially if your name is Bret Hart). I also met Sgt. Slaughter a few years back, now he was chill as hell. He joked around with me and my friend for a few minutes, and then told my dad to do pushups for an autograph. Guest Trivia247 Report post Posted August 12, 2003 King of the asshole wrestlers is Lex Luger by far.. I met him at the Jim Crocket Cup tourny in 87 and ooo boy was he a asshole to me to my Ma to the fans who swarmed around him, of course he was wearing his three piece suit that protected him from being touched by those beneath him. That and the security guards.
Lil' Bitch 0 Report post Posted August 12, 2003 I dunno, to me, getting a picture with a wrestler means more than getting their autographs. Of course, if you're me, its a mess to try to get both a pic with/of them and their autograph. If I had a choice, I'd rather go with the pic.
Lil' Bitch 0 Report post Posted August 30, 2003 Test has to be the biggest dickhead of them all. HOURS before Sunday Night Heat was to be taped this past Monday, he arrived to the arena with Stacy. There was this mentally challenged fan, he was just a kid, who asked for his autograph / picture. And they just blew him off. Maybe it was issue of kayfabe, but even HHH isn't that fucked up. What Test did was just cold and he wonders why nobody likes him...

Guest Chris Jericho for World Champion Report post Posted August 30, 2003 Well lets see. When I went to a house show last year around August 20th, I met only one wrestler at the Smackdown House show. It was Rico. He came up after he went inside to drop off his bags, and signed autographs and took pictures. I had nothing for him to sign, so I just got a picture with him. Although only Rico came up, I kid you not, every single wrestler on the Smackdown roster that we saw pull up and go inside the arena, waved and yelled hi to us, with the exception of one giant cock. Chris Benoit. He did nothing, ignored us when we were yelling his name and saying he was awesome. I badmouthed Lesnar, Show, and a few other bastards from the Smackdown roster, but they still waved and yelled hi to us. So, as Benoit went inside we chanted to him "Nice Teeth." Thats my experience with assholes and nice guys from the WWE.
Lil' Bitch 0 Report post Posted August 30, 2003 Speaking of Benoit, he also blew us off not once, not twice, but three times. When he arrived, when he headed out to go to the gym (which is understandable), and when he returned from the gym. He smiled at us everytime, but the guy didn't even wave. This one fan was so pissed, he yelled: You're just like your mother, Benoit: a toothless whore! It was fucked up, but funny at the same time.
Celtic Jobber 0 Report post Posted August 31, 2003 (edited) I met British Bulldog back in 1992 at a house show in Mobile not long after he won the IC title at Summerslam. He was very nice and didn't hesitate to sign autographs and take pictures with me, my mom, and my sister (I was 10 at the time). The biggest asshole I've met was Bryan "Crush" Adams. I asked him for an autograph (don't ask why, I was only 10 and a total mark) and he said "I don't do autographs" then a second later some big-titted woman who could've been a stripper asked and he signed for her right away. I usually don't even attempt to talk to wrestler's or get autographs anymore. Edited August 31, 2003 by Celtic Jobber
Guest KJ Brackish Report post Posted August 31, 2003 Awesome peeps: Rob Van Dam - It was the very first EVER Live Smackdown from here (Salt Lake City, UT) and I was one of the first to enter the arena. I made a beeline to my seat, which was in the lower bowl, yet by the ramp, and closer to where they exit.... I went to my seat and RVD was sitting in it. I walked over and he was like, "HEEEEEYYYYY!" I acknowledged him and stuff and we talked for a bit, until he asked if he was sitting in my seat, I was like....um....yea..... He was like, I'm sorry. I asked him for a picture which he gladly obliged. It was from like 1 foot away, so I can gladly say...I have a pic of RVD when he was high....UP CLOSE AND PERSONAL. Jerks: Brock Lesnar - Well I can't say that he's a jerk, but I don't have any other peeps, but when he was a heel, there was a house show here and at one point, 'Taker threw him outside. I laughed at him where he promptly flipped me the bird and shouted, "FUCK YOU!" right at me. I know this was kayfabe, but still...... That is the benefits of being Row 1 Seat 1.... right by where they enter. DFA
Guest Deebo Report post Posted August 31, 2003 Cool: Shawn Michaels was the coolest one I've ever met. He talked to me and my sister for about 15 minutes after a house show back in 1996. Goldberg was also pretty cool... signed a bunch of stuff, some guy said something like, "You can't wrestle man, you only have 3 moves", and Goldberg just laughed it off and said "Well, it's gotten me this far" RVD was also cool.. didn't meet him because I was too far back in the crowd, but I could see that he was being cool to everyone. Steve Ray... he was AWESOME. Met him after a Nitro once, he kept laughing when me and my friend said Fruitbooty was our favorite word. Zach Gowen.. he was REALLY really cool. He seemed genuinly appreciative to be there and told one guy that he thought he enjoyed giving out autographs more than people enjoyed getting them. Bubba Ray... seen two totally different versions of him. Ive seen him be really nice and sign everyones autograph before, and also seen him be a total prick. Eddie Guerrero was also cool.. everyone there was chanting "Eddie" for the entire time he was there signing. He was nice. Jerks: Chris Nowinski.. I honestly cannot imagine why he would be a jerk to anyone since nobody gives a flying shit about him. He should be doing anything he can to get fans to like him. He was a real dick though and said he didn't have time to sign anything, even though he stood about 50 feet away talking on a cell phone for the next 15 minutes Sean O'haire... looked like he didn't wanna be there when he was signing autographs. Some kid, probably around 16 or so, noticed it and said "If you don't wanna be doing this then get the fuck out of here, it's not like anyone cares about you anyway". O'haire kind of just stared him down and then left. Bradshaw... walked by a whole large group of us wanting autographs without even raising his head to acknowledge us. Guest Dmann2000 Report post Posted August 31, 2003 I have a co-worker who has great Mid-South and World Class, AWA and NWA stories. Like Jake Roberts picking up ring rats after the show And the Road Warriors being assholes. As for me, the nicest guy in wrestling I've ever met is...TAZZ Sure they were at ECW signings but both times he was very friendly and very personable, I think his true personality is coming through these days on Smackdown. Oh and what a surprise, Bubba Ray got into it with a fan in line.
Guest hunger4unger Report post Posted September 1, 2003 Test is very arrogant and is also immature. The thing with mid and lower carders is that they most likely get more shit than props from fans so after time, get bored with signing and chatting with fans. TheOriginalOrangeGoblin 0 Report post Posted September 1, 2003 I haven't met many wrestlers: Nice guys: Kanyon - for an hour after a Raw ended till like 1 am he signed for everyone waiting out side. Austin & Angle - I didn't meet them but after that same Raw Austin came out and saw the 50 fans left around the parking lot. We chanted "Austin" and he waved then got in his truck, revved it up and wiated. When Angle came out Austin started chasing him with the truck. Both guys were laughing and this went on for 10 minutes before Angle got Austin out of the truck(Austin sold everything) and chased Austin till Austin goti n a rental car and drove. Angle then got out of the truck with his arms raised in victory and the crowd chanted "Angle". Considering it was 1 am and they had a Smackdown taping in Montreal the next day I can safely assume both guys are really nice for doing that for like 25-50 fans remaining. Rico - At a house show earlier this year. Really nice and winked at me when I chanted "Rico". Pricks: X Pac - At that same Raw he was at his car and people were calling him over and he did brush off motion with his hand ignoring us. Then we chanted "Waltman sucks" and he yelled "fuck you" before flipping us off and driving away. Test - He was with Stacy and wouldn't acknowledge anyone, instead saying just ignoring everything. He's a prick.
