Guest wildpegasus Posted August 10, 2003 Report Posted August 10, 2003 On the preview for the medallion commercial they show Jackie Chan climbing up a wall and going over a gate. My friend and I say he didn't cheat by using computer special effects or wires. My other friend however says there's no way Jackie Chan climbing up the wall is real. Who's right?
RavishingRickRudo Posted August 10, 2003 Report Posted August 10, 2003 Jackie has done stuff like that in previous movies like Rush Hour and Rumble in the Bronx (IIRC). The wall looks pretty high though.
Insane Bump Machine Posted August 10, 2003 Report Posted August 10, 2003 I haven't seen the commercial in question, but Jackie does stuff like that all the time in his movies. I've seen outtakes where he didn't use any help.
Anakin Flair Posted August 10, 2003 Report Posted August 10, 2003 Jackie Chan is Spider-Man. SHHHHHHH! Don't tell anybody!
razazteca Posted August 10, 2003 Report Posted August 10, 2003 Well it depends on whether its a Hollywood or Hong Kong production. In HK movies he does all of his stunts but in Hollywood movies he does have some help. Jackie does have a hole in his head from Armour of God, when he jumped from the castle to a tree. Is it me of does this seem like a live action movie based on the cartoon he does for Fox.
Guest Lethargic Posted August 12, 2003 Report Posted August 12, 2003 That movies looks like the Tuxedo without a tuxedo. I wanna see it just to see Claire Forlani doing kung fu.

Guest wildpegasus Posted August 12, 2003 Report Posted August 12, 2003 What the world is PARADE magazine?
Guest El Satanico Posted August 12, 2003 Report Posted August 12, 2003 It's probably an aided stunt. I seem to remember Jackie saying he was going to stop doing big stunts by himself.
razazteca Posted August 12, 2003 Report Posted August 12, 2003 What the world is PARADE magazine? It comes with the sunday newspaper
SpikeFayeJettEdBebop Posted August 14, 2003 Report Posted August 14, 2003 I think the next 20 Jakcie Chan movies are going to be giving reasons WHY he has "powers" but in reality, like you said, we all know whjy he has powers...He was bitten by a genetically altered spider. Anyway, If it is adied in some way, he has done stunts like that on walls that big so go rent an older Chan tape and show your friend that he is WRONG!!!!!!CHAN=THE MAN!

My Stunts, Project A, Armor of God, Rush Hour! we all know whjy he has powers.. Jackie Chan is an immortal......he never dies in the movies!
Special K Posted August 14, 2003 Report Posted August 14, 2003 It's a fucking wire. His legs look like they're flailing around in the clip. I like Jackie a great deal, and not for one second do I grudge his using wires at his somewhat advanced age, but hell, he's using wires. Let the man milk his natural chasrm, look at Supercop Adn Police Story one if you want his stuntwork

I like Jackie a great deal, and not for one second do I grudge his using wires at his somewhat advanced age, but hell, he's using wires. Um, his legs ALWAYS look like they're flailing around, wires or no. Still, I wouldn't begrudge him if he was wearing a wire for this one. With the budgets you get on US-made movies, and again the fact that he's 50, I'd definitely err on the side of safety, even on one of his "signature" stunts.
Guest TheMadmanGreg Posted August 15, 2003 Report Posted August 15, 2003 I don't blame him at all for using wires, but it just seems to take away some of the magic. It's like finding out there is no Santa Claus.
SpikeFayeJettEdBebop Posted August 16, 2003 Report Posted August 16, 2003 Its worse than that....FAR WORSE.....
Karnage Posted August 16, 2003 Report Posted August 16, 2003 Jackie can still do lots of stuff for a guy who's near 50. Maybe for huge stunts he needs some enhancement but they don't need to use wires for everything he does like they do with Jet Li movies.
