Interesting note from Raw House Show

That's a series?

I consider Booker/X as drizzling shits as they were to be a series...not two matches...

I'll second Booker vs. Storm from Nitro as being better than any singles match Christian's ever had.

Though I still like Christian more.

He never had a good match with RVD that I can remember...and I like to write good RVD matches down as proof that he had them.

April 1st, 2002.

The ONLY Austin match that I remember was a terrible first blood match with Boss Man interfering.

January 24th, 2002.

Lance Storm has only had two good matches in WWE and they were with Edge at SS 01 and the RAW match where RVD remembered how to sell for once.

August 9th, 2002.

I don't remember a Booker/Jericho 1-1 match ever having enough time to be anything but meh.

See above.

Jarrett and Steiner were in WCW where no one saw them...though I don't deny those could have been good.

They still happened- and I remember your qualifications were one good match aside from v. Benoit.

To each their own. I was very into each match, especially the Raw match. One of the most exciting matches on Raw that I've seen in a long time.

Those HHH matches (ESPECIALLY MANIA) were boring. The rest were all tag wins for Booker leading up to the boring loss.

I like old school style matches so I was REALLY into Triple H v. Booker- The ending sucked but the match hooked me in and had me pulling for Booker to win.

bps- All you said was Booker didn't have a good match aside from his stuff v. Benoit. I think I've given you examples.

How can you say that?

If two wrestlers I generally find fucking boring as shit can put on a ***1/2 out of sheer will and a fucking hot crowd...You gotta consider that said match above average...

I said TOO MUCH above average. I know they were above average, I just didn't find them THAT MUCH above average.

Be sure to get the Storm match because it's the ONE occasion Storm ever remotely looked credible...

It only took MONTHS of intense booking and ripping off WWF to pull this hurculean feat off...

Than why are you watching Raw? Booker's matches on there are often the best part of it.

They are?

I thought Jericho was EASILY the best part...

I change the channel when Booker comes because it's bland wrestling for 4 minutes and then the Signature pop moves...

Storm's often not given the proper enviornment to shine. Remember, he was the one on Smackdown who arguably gave HHH his best match since his return from as quad surgery. (And this was when HHH was a face where his match quality drops as compared to when he's a heel) Storm has also looked very credable against Regal (which was Regal's best single's match in quite a while) Booker and Angle among others.

Well...Like I said...It took Months of intense Booking and stealing every play Bret and WWE did to make him a credible heel and for what? A Free TV job and to lose a program to Huge Morrus of all people...

ON TOPIC POST~!

Christian sucked a giant huge fat large giant you-know-what as IC Champ.

I loathe Christian. He's so astoundingly overrated. Good bumper and not much else.

The IC title has been a pile a crap since it's return. <_<

After reading this topic, I decided to rewatch the Austin/Booker match from Smackdown, January 2002. (downloaded from kazaa)

I must say, I enjoyed it quite a bit. Very good forgotten TV match.

Better than HHH's match with Booker....and possibly the best Booker match I've seen in WWE.

Hot crowd too.

Remember when everyone said Christian was the talented member of Edge and Christian? Yeah it didn't take long after they were broke up to prove that one wrong.

Isn't it funny though?

When both E&C were battling the Hardyz, most of the IWC admitted that they thought that the less successful partners would be the ones that would be the ones to have great singles careers.

...yet, it turns out to be the other way around.

Booker T sucks as a wrestler there's no doubt about that, but what he lacks in workrate he makes it up with charisma and in this business that's all you need. Him as a world champion?I don't see it, maybe a transitional one but he could've made a great IC champion too bad we never got to see his title reign last longer than a month.

Christian....well....um......he had some fun gimmick matches once, and he bumps well.

On the Booker never had good matches outside Benoit thing: lets consult everyones fave internet rant-er Scott Keith ( ). Ok, so we know Keith is an idiot, but I don't have any of Meltzers ratings with me, plus it gives us another excuse to argue. Now I can't be assed to go through all of Keith's ramblings so here are just some of Booker's WCW PPV matches that have been rating above average:

Booker T v. Rick Martel, Souled Out 98. ***3/4

Rick Martel v. Booker T, SuperBrawl VIII. ***1/4

Booker T v. Saturn, SB VIII. ***1/2

Booker T v. Eddy Guerrero, Uncensored 98. ***

Disco Inferno v. Booker T, SB IX. ***1/2

Scott Steiner v. Booker T, Spring Stampede 99. ***

Jeff Jarrett v. Booker T, BATB 00. ***1/2

Booker T v. Scott Steiner, Mayhem 00. ***

See! there are some! And that's not including any of his TV performances or anything he has done in WWE/F.

Ok, Christian's a great bumper, but doesn't have much of a move set. But I enjoy his matches, because he has the charisma to carry the crowd. And the E&C memories are still fond ones. I'm bias, big whoop.

You guys have all missed mentioning Booker T vs Big Show at Judgement Day 2002(?). That was a decent match, considering Show doesn't have great matches with many guys.

But Christian has had good non TLC/Ladder/E&C matches too. For example...

The opening match of Survivor Series 2001 against Al Snow.

Judgement Day 1998 versus Taka Michinoku was decent.

The matches he had against Diamond Dallas Page for the European Title.

Versus Kurt Angle at KOTR 2001.

Can't remember when it was, but he had a pretty decent match with Jeff Hardy.

Fact is, Christian and Booker are the type of guys who work best as tag team wrestlers. Tracy Smothers, Bobby Eaton, Billy Gunn...some people can just about make it as a singles wrestler, but will always be best as tag wrestlers. Christian and Booker are them.

The hell are you talking about? Jeff got ALL the attention for a while and he's gone from WWE now.

None of those matches break ****, so he's not worth my time. /smark mode

Seriously, though. I like Booker, but then I don't really value one's workrate as highly as other smarks. After all, along with Hart, Savage and Flair, I marked for Sid. When HHH was this supposed workrate God in early 2000, I hated him. Benoit doesn't do anything for me personally, as well.

It really does come down to personal preference. The few A-Train and HHH fans on the board, I think, have all taught us that.

Interesting note: I THINK this is the 4th IC title change to happen at a house show.

The first two were Jarrett and Ramon swapping the title (they were recognized on WWF TV)

Next was Edge beating Jarrett the night before whatever that PPV event was.

And now, this one.
