Yes, he took the bump, but the platform he fell on, after he was thrown off the 2nd level of the triple cage by Mike Awesome, was staged so he wasn't seriously injured.

Mortis was inspired by Scorpion from Mortal Kombat since he was just there at first to be Glacier's rival, who was a Sub-Zero knockoff.

 

Mortis was only loosely based (note the skull designs), but not as a big enough knock-off of the MK character as Glacier was to his.

Mortis would be an excellent comedy character. He could get the dramatic, scary entrance, and be as annoying as Kanyon when he talks.

as great as i thought kanyons character was during the invasion, he could never be taken seriously with that goofy personality. he's been floating around doing nothing since his return from his injury, adn this might be just what he needs to jumpstart his career. im interested to see if they are gonna try to go anywhere with him.
