MrRant 0 Report post Posted August 14, 2003 Jets will do better than your "prediction", Cleveland is going 7-9 or 8-8 at best. SD is NOT going 10-6. Jax will be around the 7-9 mark. Why have you not posted your preview on the other site? Slacker.

Rendclaw 0 Report post Posted August 14, 2003 very well done and in depth, but for the gods' sakes, turn the effing page on the Colts already.
Vern Gagne 0 Report post Posted August 14, 2003 Jets will do better than your "prediction" I agree about the Jets. Edwards is one of the few coaches, who gets the most out his team. Who besides Coles did they lose from last years team; that will make them any worse?
JHawk 0 Report post Posted August 14, 2003 Even as a Browns fan, they lost too many horses on defense to be a legitimate contender this season. Which, of course, will have Cleveland fans calling for his head. Sadly, since the only other team in the North I can even tolerate is the Bungles (because they're no threat), this is going to be a long season
Cartman 0 Report post Posted August 14, 2003 Well considering the Jets lost their #1 reciever, and one of the better return guys in the league...and the fact that they insanely overachieved last year...That predictions is just about right.
The Ghost of bps21 0 Report post Posted August 14, 2003 It doesn't really matter how many people they lost...when every other team in the division added and the Jets didn't.
LaParkaMarka 0 Report post Posted August 14, 2003 bps is right on the money. Miami, Buffalo, New England, they all made big additions to their squads. The Jets are a decent team, but they're screwed due to the division. I don't see the Pats going 11-5 though, not without a viable running game. I'm thinking the Bills win the division, with Miami and New England battling for a possible wildcard, and probably eliminating each other leaving a team like Baltimore to sneak into the playoffs. Poor AFC East.
nl5xsk1 0 Report post Posted August 14, 2003 As a Pats fan, the loss of Tebucky Jones outweighs all three of the "Major Losses" that you mentioned. Hell, I barely noticed that Hayes, Buckley or Cleeland were gone. Hayes was a bust and wouldn't even be one of the top 3 or 4 receivers for the Pats, Buckley was a nickel back that was replaced by younger, faster players, and Cleeland was average at best. None of those three will be missed. But Tebucky might be (especially if either Milloy or Harrison gets injured)
Dr. Tom 0 Report post Posted August 14, 2003 Why have you not posted your preview on the other site? Slacker. Because having to manually add the paragraph break tags at the end of each paragraph is fucking annoying. I'll probably slog thru it after school tonight. Dr. Tom 0 Report post Posted August 14, 2003 The Jets are a decent team, but they're screwed due to the division. Exactly. It's not that they're a terrible team, but they're definitely the worst team in their division. Because of that, they're going to miss the playoffs. I also think the loss of Coles is really going to hurt them, since they don't have a go-to receiver in his absence. Combine this with Edwards' desire to make the passing game more vertical, despite losing his best deep threat and having a weak-armed QB, and I think the Jets are in for a long year. Dr. Tom 0 Report post Posted August 14, 2003 I don't see the Pats going 11-5 though, not without a viable running game. They have one. The problem is, Antowain Smith resides in Belichick's doghouse at the moment. A shame, since he could get 1200 yards on the ground if they let him be the full-time back. The combo of Smith and Kevin Faulk should be effective enough, though. I don't see the Pats throwing as much as they did last year, so they'll need those two to step it up (or just let Smith do his thing).
Dr. Tyler; Captain America 0 Report post Posted August 14, 2003 Tom, how can you not mention the most important addition the Steelers' got? Troy Polamalu.
KingPK 0 Report post Posted August 14, 2003 Nice Tom, but a few points regarding the Pats - Donald Hayes, a "Major loss"? He was a loss when he opened the playbook and said "Uh......little help here?" - I just don't like Smith's style. The guy just couldn't cut through the holes at all last year and tried to power his way through, which almost never worked. - Actually, I think the Pats D WILL be one of the best in the league if guys like Colvin, Law, Milloy, etc. play to the best of their abilities. Guest T_Hunt Report post Posted August 15, 2003 What must the Titans do to get respect?? They start 1-4 make the AFC championship game yet everyone says how did they do it?? Steve McNair!!! He will continue to be the best Quarteback in the AFC. McNair had what should have been a pro bowl year last year with no stand out reciever and Eddie hasnt been Eddie in a couple years. This man may carry this team but now that Dyson is gone Mason has to be thinking i have to really step it up. And there defense is solid. Kearse has to be damn hungry to hurt people after pretty much not playing last year. And the secdondary is solid also. I expect to see more hits like Schulters did last year agaisnt the Stleelers, hits that are so damn hard they had to throw a flag because that was look horrific. So in conclusion, the Titans ruled their divsion last year and held their own against the rest of the AFC.
