Guest Chris2K Report post Posted August 18, 2003 The worst decision I feel about the roster split was the Tag Titles not being allowed on both shows. With the Tag Titles on Smackdown, and the IC, Euro and Hardcore titles on Raw, the whole thing was a shambles. All the SD people may as well have formed Tag Teams, and all the Tag Teams on Raw had no purpose. Ever since Lance Storm and Christian moved to RAW with the WWE Tag Team titles, which caused Stephanie to create the SmackDown Tag Team Titles, the whole WWE Tag Division has been a complete joke. People have been thrown together randomly, most of the time they are two Upper Card workers (Hogan & Edge, Benoit & Angle, Rey & Edge) who win the titles just to get the crowd to pop. What should the WWE do with the two sets of Tag Titles now?
AndrewTS 0 Report post Posted August 18, 2003 Two SETS of tag titles you mean. What's the point? You stumped me. While it's true to an extent that both rosters have tag teams patched together with singles wrestlers not doing anything, people actually give a crap about the SD tag titles. Of course, the SD tag titles were decided with an awesome tournament, SD has tag teams such as the Guerreros (or had), TWGTT, APA, Bashams, and FBI. There are/were some patchwork teams like Benoit/Rhyno, Tajiri/Eddy, Funaki/Tajiri, and the like. However, that's still a strong tag division. Raw? La Resistance and the Dudleyz. There aren't really any real tag teams besides those. Storm/Goldust is a possibility, Christian and Jericho team once in a blue moon, and you can stick Flair and Orton together for a tag team match sometimes. Other than that, though, nothing. Ideally, they could bust up La Resistance (the gimmick ran it's course after the war ended), and move the Dudleyz to Smackdown for a couple singles wrestlers, and just kill off the Raw tag titles. On the bright side, they haven't given 2 Dudes with Attitudes the tag titles yet.
edotherocket 0 Report post Posted August 18, 2003 Smackdown tag titles are doing nicely. And the division, although often made up of midcarder pairings, always seem to have some decent team whether its Rey/Edge, Rey/Kidman or whoever. And WGTT are awesome as champs. It's tempting to say 'Do away with the RAW tag titles' but with a little effort, I don't see why it couldn't have the same success. No one ever tries to hold down tag teams. And there are lots of good wrestlers on RAW doing not very much.

I find it kind of funny that Bischoff's show has a tag team division and a women's division, when he's said he doesn't care about women's wrestling and in real life he hates tag team wrestling. Yet those are the only titles he didn't abolish besides the "World" Title on Raw.

Where's the Jindrak/Cade love? They had an OK match this past Heat (not great, but enough to keep my attention). They did bring me more enjoyment than Le Res or the Dudz, though. AndrewTS 0 Report post Posted August 18, 2003 I didn't know about the real life tag team hating. Why is that? I recall him saying he's not personally interested in tag team wrestling, and he broke up nearly every established WCW tag team, like the Steiners, Harlem Heat, etc. I'm not sure if he was the one in charge when Judy Bagwell became a tag team champion, but it would sound about right. Where's the Jindrak/Cade love? They had an OK match this past Heat (not great, but enough to keep my attention). They did bring me more enjoyment than Le Res or the Dudz, though. I don't watch Heat, so pardon me for forgetting. They're likely looked at by the fans as jobbers anyway, right now.
Spaceman Spiff 0 Report post Posted August 18, 2003 They got a nice reaction from picking up the win (at least from the first couple rows, which is all I could see on camera). They're not ready for Raw yet, but if handled correctly, who knows.
Downhome 0 Report post Posted August 18, 2003 There should only be two sets of Tag Titles if both shows, RAW and Smackdown, are totally seperate. I'd prefer one to not be called WWE also.
notJames 0 Report post Posted August 18, 2003 Where's the Jindrak/Cade love? Jindrack and Cade give me nothing to cheer about. They're boring, vanilla, character-less… I could go on and on. Sure, they might be competent wrestlers, but there are thousands of competent wrestlers all over the country, drudging through the indie scene. What sets these two guys apart from the chaff, other than they're a little bigger and can throw 10 dropkicks a piece in any given match? Until Vince and Co. give them a visible purpose and direction, they will be perceived as cannon fodder and nothing else. Better to have a stupid gimmick than no gimmick at all. Spaceman Spiff 0 Report post Posted August 18, 2003 I'm not saying they should push them, I just mentioned them because they weren't put in the original post. That they held my interest more than Le Res or the Dudz is more a statement on the status of the Raw roster moreso than a statement on Jindrak/Cade.
The Czech Republic 0 Report post Posted August 19, 2003 I didn't know about the real life tag team hating. Why is that? His theory is "why pay four guys for one match when you can pay two guys for a match and the other two for another"
Adam 0 Report post Posted August 19, 2003 There are only about 3 tag teams for each show, and thats why it sucks.
Guest undisputedjericho Report post Posted August 19, 2003 Don't forget Hurricane & Rosey, they could be a tag team.
