Guest abowen33 Report post Posted August 19, 2003 LUCKY 13 GAUNTLET MATCH WINNER BECOMES #1 CONTENDER FOR NWA WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE Director of Authority Erik Watts has determined that 13 of TNA's top stars will compete in a Gauntlet rules match to name a new #1 Contender for the NWA World Heavyweight Title. Whoever emerges as the #1 Contender will get a title shot at AJ Styles on next week's program. ULTIMATE X X TITLE MATCH Chris Sabin puts his X Title on the line against Frankie Kazarian and Michael Shane in a unique match that has never been seen before....Ultimate X. The X Title will be hanging above the ring, and the only way to reach the title belt will be to navigate two chains that will be hung 15 feet above the ring and crossing each other to form an X. It's a match that has never been done before, and whoever gets the belt wins the X Title. LEGEND & FALLEN ANGEL CHRISTOPHER DANIELS VS ERIK WATTS & JEFF JARRETT Erik Watts and Jeff Jarrett are fed up with the recent actions of Legend and Christopher Daniels and will be looking to settle a score in this grudge match. SIMON DIAMOND & JOHNNY SWINGER VS AMERICA'S MOST WANTED DOUBLE BULL ROPE MATCH These two teams have had some incredible matches against each other in recent weeks and will be competing this week in a Double Bull Rope Match. As always, Glenn Gilberti will be ringside with Diamond and Swinger and will be looking for a way to get involved in the match. ALSO ON THE SHOW Raven continues to have problems with James Mitchell and his "mystery man". Raven will be in the Asylum this week looking to find some answers from Mitchell. The Gathering will also be in the Asylum this week, as will The Church and Shane Douglas. Sonny Siaki says he is going to officially bury the career of D-LO Brown this week. D-LO will be back this week and will be looking to find out exactly what Siaki is talking about. All this and much more, this Wednesday night...only on pay-per-view. Find out what Total Nonstop Action is all about! Looks like a decent show, Ultimate X should rock the place, and hopefully somebody who can wrestle comes out on top of the Gauntlet! Crippler Crossface 0 Report post Posted August 19, 2003 Ultimate X can either be one of the coolest stips ever, or one of the worst stips ever, depending on how Sabin, Kazarian, and Shane use it. I hope it will be cool.
Zack Malibu 0 Report post Posted August 20, 2003 Hopefully the Gauntlet does not include such "notables" as Sabu, Rick Steiner, or Buff Bagwell this time around. Wonder if Raven, Douglas, Siaki and Brown will be involved in that, or other things. That's several upper-main event workers that might not be in the match. EL DANDY~! 0 Report post Posted August 20, 2003 You wonder just exactly who they'd put in the #1 contender spot...I mean, what faces outside of JJ, Raven, and D'Lo could be a good foil to AJ? I mean, maybe give Lo Ki another shot? I'd do it without a shadow of a doubt...

Guest Nanks Report post Posted August 20, 2003 Putting Sting in a match like this wouldn't be the worst thing in the world. It would make it easy to cover up for what ring ability he may have lost and having him in there near the end would be a good way to really elevate whoever is booked to go over. He'd get a great pop coming out and even moreso if he got rid of a reasonably over heel before bowing to a worthwhile face.
The Ghost of bps21 0 Report post Posted August 20, 2003 I wish Red wasn't hurt. I'd mark out for Styles/Red III
syxx2001 0 Report post Posted August 20, 2003 ME TOO~! I think some heel, maybe Legend will win the battle royale and then Sting will come out, ala Chyna in the Corporate Rumble, and eliminate Legend.
bob_barron 0 Report post Posted August 20, 2003 I wish Red wasn't hurt. I'd mark out for Styles/Red III Red's knee is feeling a lot better bps. The Maximos informed me that he's in Japan
The Ghost of bps21 0 Report post Posted August 20, 2003 Hmm...still doesn't help me out...but good for Red. Seriously though...while AJ is champion they need to find some way to get title shots to Red and Lynn because theres actual TNA history there
Guest Boomer Sprinklespax Report post Posted August 20, 2003 I still think Lynn would have been the best choice, but that probably isn't going to happen being that he's got a whole other thing going right now.

Zack Malibu 0 Report post Posted August 20, 2003 If they brought Sting in as a mystery entrant with no hype, that's pretty counter-productive, since he's a name and could draw more buys.

Guest Devin Report post Posted August 20, 2003 That's what Red is currently doing in All Japan, a fake WWE Invasion angle. He's playing Misterio, Alan Funk's playing Hogan, and Hostuff Hernandez is doing an eerilly good job at playing Angle.

He's playing Misterio, Alan Funk's playing Hogan, and Hostuff Hernandez is doing an eerilly good job at playing Angle. and add to that... Red suffered a leg injury during his match today for All-Japan at Korakuen Hall and had to be sent to the hospital immediately after the match and it looks like he is done for the rest of All-Japan’s tour. credit - KrisZ at the DVDVR board... Not that i really mind, seeing that i am not a fan of Red but newsworthy nonetheless
Styles 0 Report post Posted August 20, 2003 That pic is downright scary I must say. I think Ultimate X will be something to see. I can't see Sting making his return without a week to hype it. What I wonder is they didn't say "Gauntlet For The Gold" (A Royal Rumble, ending with a 1 on 1 match) they just said Gauntlet, so will this be a traditional Gauntlet match (series of 1 on 1 matches with new man coming in to challenge winner of previous match)? syxx2001 0 Report post Posted August 20, 2003 Bad news for fans of The Amazing Red. Red injured his knee yesterday while working a six man tag with Kendo Ka Shin and Alan Funk against Masa Fuchi, Taichi Ishikari and Hi69 at the Korakuen Hall in Tokyo, Japan. Red was taken to the hospital shortly after the match and is expected to be out of action for quite some time, which means he will miss the rest of the All Japan Pro Wrestling tour that just began. Red's knee has been injured for several months but he was been working through the pain. He recently re-injured it during a match on a NWA-TNA broadcast a few week's back. There is no word yet on how other promotions will react to this news. Red competes for the NWA-TNA, as well as Ring of Honor where he holds their Tag Team Championship with A.J. Styles. MLW has already announced that they will no longer be using Red after he recently missed an appearance on a MLW show. We'll have further updates on Red's condition and exactly how long he is expected to be out when details are released. Credit: 1wrestling.com
