Gert T Posted August 20, 2003 Report Posted August 20, 2003 Hey everybody, they've announced Zach Gowen vs. Brock Lesnar tonight for the SD! taping. Now suppose the REAL Brock Lesnar We Don't Know demolishes Zach so badly his match against Matt Hardy gets cancelled at Summerslam, does everybody bemoan the fact that Hardy is not on the PPV "again", or is everybody selfishly happy that Gowen is not on the PPV?
Downhome Posted August 20, 2003 Report Posted August 20, 2003 I want to see Matt/Zach, because I feel Matt will win, and post-match he'll recruit Zach to become the third MF'er.
EL DANDY~! Posted August 20, 2003 Report Posted August 20, 2003 Zach is supposedly a good heel...I don't know. Lesnar squashing the kid means I'm happy...but like...no Matt Hardy? YOU GOTTA BE KIDDING ME!
Guest webmasterofwrestlegame Posted August 20, 2003 Report Posted August 20, 2003 Lesnar squashes Zach and beats on him afterwards and Hardy comes in for the save. He walks away afterwards not saying anything with Zach beat and confused. Later in the show, Hardy attacks Zach again (backstage or whatever). They meet at the PPV where Hardy goes over clean. Afterwards, he says he likes what he sees in Zach and sees some Mattitude in him after turning up for SummerSlam after the beating Lesnar gave him on SmackDown! and then Hardy later on the same show. They can then decide whether to turn hardy and Moore face with this or Zach heel. Also opens up face Hardy vs. Lesnar if they want to go that way. Either way, I think the above works.
MixxMaster Posted August 20, 2003 Report Posted August 20, 2003 This just in: (highlight to read) Spoiler (Highlight to Read): WWE has been advertising a Zach Gowen vs. Brock Lesnar match with Vince McMahon as special ref for the Smackdown taping tonight. The company not only announced the main event days ago, but has been heavily advertising the match in the local Detroit area (where the taping is). The company has now pulled the match from the taping. It appears that WWE already knew last week that they weren't going to go through with the match, but failed to pull ads anyway. Damaramu Posted August 20, 2003 Report Posted August 20, 2003 Why is that a spoiler? It just says that they've decided not to do the match.
MixxMaster Posted August 20, 2003 Report Posted August 20, 2003 one never knows with some of the people on here who just are spoiler-sensitive
Just call me Dan Posted August 20, 2003 Report Posted August 20, 2003 Damn straight, I would have made it a spoiler too. this has got to be the Year of Bait and Switch. I mean how many advertised matches (a GREAT way to garner ratings) were totally dropped (a really BAD way to garner ratings) this year alone?
Aero Posted August 20, 2003 Report Posted August 20, 2003 The story with Matt recruiting Zach after winning the match sounds convincing, but would that turn him face or keep him heel? The Matt-Gowen match sorta reminds me of Skip vs. Barry Horowitz from Summerslam 95. Although, Gowen didn't beat Matt on TV prior to the PPV to set it up. Still, after all these losses to guys like Shannon Moore and Nunzio, I have a feeling that Gowen will get the upset win.
Just call me Dan Posted August 20, 2003 Report Posted August 20, 2003 where does Zach go after that then? He'll either be in the tag title contention with Moore, or get canned like Crash. Fuck adding more people as Mattitude followers. Let that be the fans and get Hardy on his own track and headed for a title. The last thing I'd want him involved in is some BS stable that can just be used tyo get squashed all at once for a Big Show face turn or something.
Guest webmasterofwrestlegame Posted August 20, 2003 Report Posted August 20, 2003 I wouldn't think it would be a long term thing - Hardy can ditch them and turn face himself or whatever. But its got to be different than this whole thing just stopping after the PPV and Hardy not having anything to do.
Just call me Dan Posted August 20, 2003 Report Posted August 20, 2003 OK, so even if Zach is recruited, how does that give Hardy something to do?
Guest webmasterofwrestlegame Posted August 20, 2003 Report Posted August 20, 2003 Its a new MF'er, opens it up for 6-man tags, allows Hardy to make himself even more hated by putting the one-legged man in awkward situations - just general character stuff that will help both Gowan and Hardy.
Just call me Dan Posted August 20, 2003 Report Posted August 20, 2003 Well, to me, being dastardly and putting a one-legged man into tight spots would be good for his character, but Zach would then need to turn on him eventually, bringing things right back to where we are now, and that is no good.
Guest webmasterofwrestlegame Posted August 20, 2003 Report Posted August 20, 2003 I agree it would just lead us back to where they are now, but if they have nothing for Hardy and Gowan now (which seems to be the case - Hardy playing with the big boys is a wish not reality right now) then I don't see why they can't do it.
Ultra Violence Posted August 20, 2003 Report Posted August 20, 2003 I agree it would just lead us back to where they are now, but if they have nothing for Hardy and Gowan now (which seems to be the case - Hardy playing with the big boys is a wish not reality right now) then I don't see why they can't do it. Logic = Misterio vs Kidman vs Ultimo vs Hardy WWE Logic = Misterio vs The Big Show
Youth N Asia Posted August 20, 2003 Report Posted August 20, 2003 Zack can't work as a heel...he's by no means threatening, that's ok for a babface, but not a heel.
