The Mandarin 0 Report post Posted November 15, 2003 Damnit. Myself, my CAW named "Conspiracy", was in a great tag team with Booker T ("Wendy's Sucks") that won the Tag Titles in our first match. We then lost them in a Ladder Match (to Haas and O'Haire) at the next PPV. Then it gets interesting. Torrie becomes my manager, and we hit it off. Add in tons of "pie" references here. We were about to become a couple, when A-Train said that she was gonna become his manager. He challenged me at the PPV. I declined. So he challenges HER. She fights him at the PPV while I played her manager. She was about to win, when I, foolishly thinking I could just come in and blast A-Train with a chair, run in and accidentally SMASH TORRIE IN THE FACE. TS will like that one. Anyways, I thought she'd just win by DQ, but no, as it appears that I accidentally smacked A-Train in the face first before I hit Torrie. Sonofabitch. Anyways, after that, she just disappeared and I transferred to RAW. I'm still without a storyline. Damnit. My question: Can someone tell me what would have happened had I stayed with Torrie? I'm really curious now. Damn that hairy bastard.

Damaramu 0 Report post Posted November 16, 2003 Damn this game is hard. Two moves by the computer make me yellow...it takes me 10 moves to do it to them. Oh and TLC matches....jesus christ. This is as annoying as WMX8 where instead of stopping the other guy from winning...they just choose to beat you up while he wins.
Guest The Old Me Report post Posted November 16, 2003 I am a cheap SOB when my CAW's first start out. I always go for tag gold first, that way I can get a strong partner to do all the work while I just eat up the attributes. If in a singles match, keep that fight outside and don't go in until you are sure you can win.

Yeah, although it doesn't seem as exciting when you've thrown her off the Cell a dozen times, F-5ed her THROUGH the Cell, Powerbombed her onto a car roof, put her through several tables, smashed her body with a ladder, and given her about 8 spears and 4 jackhammers. I used her as a training dummy to get used to the new controls. I'm still disappointed women don't bleed in this game. Anyways, after that, she just disappeared and I transferred to RAW. I'm still without a storyline. Just having random matches, or have you gone weeks without a match, even?
Anakin Flair 0 Report post Posted November 17, 2003 Ok, so I was teamed w/ Jericho vs Dibiasi and Benoit in the tournament for the WWE title on smackdown. I'm playing as Goldberg, but I was Jericho at the time. I'm kicking Dibiasi's ass, then Goldberg just tags himself in. So I go to grab Ted w/ Goldberg, but the Ref, of course, is RIGHT FUCKING THERE and I grapple him instead. And I couldn't let go. So I go for a move, knowing the ref will reverse it, which he does, and then I get DQ'd. WTF!!!! I NEVER get DQ'd for hitting the ref ONCE in a match. Mystery Eskimo 0 Report post Posted November 18, 2003 I wish the season was longer than one year. But I had my biggest mark out moment yesterday- taking on Nash with my World Title on the line, he has me up for the Jacknife, but I counter to a DDT that busts him open and gets the 3 count~! If you want to cheat the game, go outside, whip your opponent into the guard rail and then running attack them so they flip on top of the rail. Then just keep punching them. They can't get down while you keep striking, so you can cause a lot of damage.

Mystery Eskimo 0 Report post Posted November 18, 2003 In all my time playing Smackdown games, I've been DQ'd for attacking the ref only once, when I accidentally gave him a Buff Blockbuster. It's like one time in a million the game referee gets pissed with being beaten down so much.
2GOLD 0 Report post Posted November 18, 2003 Few things I learned #1: Angle Slams do NOT set up the Angle lock. You have to work the legs to have the damn Angle lock be worth a damn. If you get in a submission match, screw your Angle slam. WORK THE LEGS! Then hook the Angle lock and it's bye bye whoever cause they will tap quick. #2: Undertaker seems to be immortal cause I hit him with a damn forklift and he STILL was getting Smackdowns built up. Even in the video game world he refuses to sell! #3: The entrances (other than Matts) suck. Total letdown here #4: The Undertaker sells less than Undertaker! #5: The best way to earn money is to be a high profile wrestler in season mode. The cash rolls in better. I'm sure I've learned more but I'm still looking for a machine gun in the game so maybe I can beat the damn Undertaker.

dubq 0 Report post Posted November 18, 2003 I wish the season was longer than one year. I wish I could see these supposed "10 years" of storylines or "200 storylines" that THQ and IGN were talking about.. so far, the repetition of angles in the Season mode is fucking annoying. If I have to sit through one more stupid wrestler/manager become a couple scenario, I'll puke.

Yes, but I have seen some complaining about guys won't submit after an Angle slam. Not here from what I remember (then again, there are 58 pages) but I still mentioned it anyway in case one of those complaints surface. Common sense, of course But how often has the Smackdown series given people common sense? It's like new territory for many.
Anakin Flair 0 Report post Posted November 18, 2003 Here's another one. I'm facing The Undertaker for the US title in a cage match at summerslam. I'm Goldberg, and I'm the champ, having destroyed Jericho one week earlier. So, we start of, and I spear him a couple of times, kick, punch, and some power grapples. Now, he hit me with ONE move, then climbs the cage. I struggle to get up, finally get over to the cage, start hitting it to knock him off...only he doesn't fgall. He calmly climbs to the top, turns around and drops out of the cage, winning MY US TITLE. With ONE FREAKIN MOVE. WTF?!
dubq 0 Report post Posted November 18, 2003 Question: is there a way to smash your opponent into the side of the cage in regular cage matches? I can do it in HiaC, but can't seem to find a way in the cage matches... seems kind of pointless if you can't... Along those lines, I am also wondering if there's a way to go out the cage door in regular cage matches... If you have a heel wrestler, you need to go with the classic heel move, after all. One other question, despite scanning through the instruction manual (which I almost NEVER do, mind you), I was unable to find a way to drag my opponent across the mat. The reason I bring this up is because inevitably, when I hit a finisher, my opponent ends up right next to the ropes. Sometimes, I can get between him and the ropes when I go to make a pin attempt, but that doesn't always work. Any ideas?

Guest TheZsaszHorsemen Report post Posted November 19, 2003 I just beat HHH with Michaels on SMACKDOWN difficulty in the coolest match I've ever had on this game. I was able to dictate the pace of the match and use hit and run tactics to counter HHH's superior stats. The final sequence was jaw droppingly cool as we both got back in the ring with one finisher token. Both of us were all red except our legs and arms. I got in first and went for a toe kick, but HHH blocked it and span me around, I knew he was going for the Pedigree so i blocked it, and hit him with a standing Sweet Chin Music for the pin. Awesome awesome match.

I don't think there is a way to grasp someone and do all the heelish stuff into a regular cage yet, I haven't found a way. Oh, and as for the drag the person's body away from the ropes and such... Just press and hold the O button. Do not hit a directional button while doing so. You'll then see the animation for pulling someone and THEN hit the direction button that you wish to drag the person too. Beware though, the time you use to move that person will allow them to recover slightly from whatever manuver you have just completed in doing. As you are, in essence, giving them a rest time. Lightning Flik 0 Report post Posted November 19, 2003 Is there a way that you can build up attribute points with say, brock lesnar in season mode, and then transfer them into your CAW's season mode? No the attributes or XP that is built up for one person can not be transferred to someone else. It is set to that same person. If you really wish to build up that XP quick, my suggestion is just put it on easy, and just blitz through the matches to build up your CAWs. Saves time, energy, and getting continually whooped. Then again, I'm taking my 70 overall CAW through Smackdown difficulty next so I'll let you know how that goes.
Guest OnlyMe Report post Posted November 19, 2003 ...but you do get less points for playing on easy. Something like 6 per match, instead of 24 on SD! difficulty. You can always use the table trick if you're losing: - Get a table and stand it up in the corner. - Run into it. A lot. - Wait for the AI to attack you while you're laying "on" the table, and you'll win by DQ.

Crimson Platypus 0 Report post Posted November 20, 2003 Stone Cold is such a badass... got into a backstage brawl with him, in the parking lot. Did the trick where you whip your opponent into the big truck so they jump up and fall off, causing much damage, until SCSA was full body red. He doesn't submit to the Mandible Claw... He doesn't tap to the Sleeper (Roddy style~) He kicked out of the powerbomb pin, toe kick, stunner, pins me when I only have my upper body in the yellow. Fucker. Nighthawk 0 Report post Posted November 22, 2003 I'll make my first appearance to tell you guys how to build up caw points easily. I won't read the 60 odd pages, so maybe it's been said. Just build up points with one caw and then copy that guy and change him into your new character, keeping the points. If you don't divide up the points before you copy them, you can dish them out as you see fit, if you do, you'll be stuck with wherever you put them on the original character.
