Rendclaw 0 Report post Posted March 2, 2004 I don't have a problem with that, even though a lot of us have moved on to other games... right now I've come back to it just to take a break from playing too much BGDA2. I find it a little bit amusing that when you have had the big title from one season and going into another one, the game throws you into storyline after storyline to try and get it from you. This led me to wrestle HHH about 20-30 times, until my constant defeats of him finally lowered his superstar points to where they threw Big Show and Brock after me. Those are hard matches because my Low-KI CAW is a cruiserweight, and of course you can't lift someone as big as Brock, never mind Big Show, which you can get around of course by using smackdowns and turnbuckle moves. But thats okay, I had to develop a fast-break style of offense where you use a LOT of running moves and quick top rope moves to wear the opponent down (which is the best way to win matches on Smackdown level anyway, since about 60-70% of your grapple moves will be reversed. Thoughts and opinions, anyone?
Nighthawk 0 Report post Posted March 2, 2004 I still play this every day, I play a Smackdown game to fucking death. I was still playing Smackdown 2 up until 5 came out, I wasn't done with it enough to start a new game so I skipped 3 and 4. Hack it all up with a gameshark, it lasts and lasts. Anyway, I don't play on Smackdown difficulty, because I don't find it to be any harder than Hard. It just takes longer cause of the reversal mania, you still end up with the same amount of offense. Rendclaw 0 Report post Posted March 2, 2004 You're right, and maybe I should ramp the game down, since I had it up there just for the XP factor. Though I am making a Bret Hart CAW, and I am going to have to go through all of that again....
Use Your Illusion 0 Report post Posted March 2, 2004 Benoit reversed practically every move I threw at him the other day Overcome with rage, I leapt into Season mode as Triple H and slaughtered everyone in my way until I reached Benoit (who was RAW Champion). A few swift sledgehammer shots later, HHH stood over a bloody Chris Benoit as the World Champion. Ah, vengeance. UYI
Mystery Eskimo 0 Report post Posted March 2, 2004 The elimination chamber has become my favourite match...giving someone a frogsplash off the top of the chamber is great. Although watching Kevin Nash climb to the top and just randomly jump off with an elbow, then land on his head like an idiot, is even better.

TheFranchise 0 Report post Posted March 2, 2004 I was a tag match, i had Lesnar and HBK as a team.. why did they come out together as 'default'?
Papacita 0 Report post Posted March 2, 2004 I was a tag match, i had Lesnar and HBK as a team.. why did they come out together as 'default'? Are/were they tag champions? When you choose a partner to challenge for the tag titles, the game automatically enters you and your partner as a default team, which annoys the hell outta me. TheFranchise 0 Report post Posted March 3, 2004 No, we were challenging for the titles, and simply came out together as 'default' with Lesnar's music.
Guest Coffey Report post Posted March 3, 2004 You have to edit it in the season mode. You can give them a team name, entrance & music. It's actually a pretty cool feature. It's down at the bottom of the locker room screen...right under the card lineup I believe. I think it's the gymbag.
Guest cobainwasmurdered Report post Posted March 7, 2004 can you unlock bret hart like some cheat code pages say you can?
Guest Coffey Report post Posted March 7, 2004 No, but you can make a decent CAW of him.
Guest Report post Posted March 7, 2004 That said, HCTP has run fine on my machine. I don't even get this "wierd noise" that I see people talking about... This "weird noise" is something you get a few months after you dropped your PS2. If you don't have a warranty, you're fucked.

Guest Trivia247 Report post Posted March 11, 2004 its still sad they rate moves such that some Submission moves they don't even do that scale to see if someone taps or not... like the two figure fours you can use that are not finishers wish you can improve move ratings
Rendclaw 0 Report post Posted March 13, 2004 I think that some submission moves were slated as a "break-down" hold, though that can be used for submissions.... but I agree, it should be all or nothing on the submission meter when it comes to certain holds. Guest Trivia247 Report post Posted March 20, 2004 Ok One Major Gripe! They no longer are doing the CAW moveset lists anymore? So instead of picking from a list you have to do this out by hand? geez thanks WWE

So instead of picking from a list you have to do this out by hand? geez thanks WWE Huh? HCTP has moveset lists, but you have to unlock them. you seem to only get the movesets of the wrestlers that are in the game. However I can't seem to find the movesets of the wrestlers that are not in the game. Where are they then because I unlocked everything.
Perfxion 0 Report post Posted March 21, 2004 Go into Create a moveset and pick the person you want to edit of the moves. Go down the selection above default. Then pick moves from the list first would be shit like Powerful, Speedy, ect. ect. Then will be a list of Superstars in the game. Then they have a list of the wrestlers. Gamefaqs.com have a few that list what each set is.
Guest Trivia247 Report post Posted March 24, 2004 Just made my first CAW in Andre Find out because of the nature of their spread out of ability points that he'll start out all weak.. and it takes a long ass time to restore him to where the Giant should be. three or so seasons. and its gonna be the same with every CAW i'll make. this will take a while
Guest Coffey Report post Posted March 24, 2004 I just recently finished working up a CAW to ten in all stats. So, whenever I make a new CAW, I just clone the perfect CAW, delete all his layers and make the new CAW from there. That way, he will have perfect stats too. So, whenever I make a new CAW, I just clone the perfect CAW, delete all his layers and make the new CAW from there. That way, he will have perfect stats too. problem with that is that I am completely obsessive on accuracy. I get my moves from TNM7 when I have my computer, I research older tapes for moves and pics of them of that period and I only max the stats that matches them. Wouldn't make a sam houston that could press slam the Big Show.
Guest Coffey Report post Posted March 24, 2004 Right, but I don't want my CAW's to be incapable of getting wins over Goldberg, Brock Lesnar or Triple H either.
DangerousDamon 0 Report post Posted March 24, 2004 Right, but I don't want my CAW's to be incapable of getting wins over Goldberg, Brock Lesnar or Triple H either. I can beat Brock Lesnar with a CAW with a overall of 42. The only person that gives me trouble in Smackdown is Kurt Angle. I don't know why he does. Plus he's the only person to ever beat me with the Chickenwing pin.

Papacita 0 Report post Posted March 25, 2004 The only person that gives me trouble in Smackdown is Kurt Angle. I don't know why he does. Kurt is pretty damn tough on that game. I've got Benoit at 100 and damn near every match I have with Kurt goes at least 15 minutes or so...and God forbid I fight him with one of my lesser CAWs or one of the Cruisers. Rendclaw 0 Report post Posted March 25, 2004 Trips and Kevin Nash are my nemeses in that game.... I have to really watch what I am doing with either one of them, though once my CAWs get around 88-95 Superstar Points, they become much less of a problem. Though if you have the game set on Smackdown difficulty are up against a wrestler with a minimum Tech rating of 7 or 8, its a reversal-fest. Angle, Benoit, and a few others are like that. I just use running moves a LOT to wear them down before I start going for grapples, but it can still get a little bit frustrating at times. Trivia247, I know what you mean by accuracy with moves... I was that anal-retentive when I was making the British Bulldogs and the Hart Foundation on SYM.... I had that classic Bret-Dynamite match on CD and that went a long way towards making the respective wrestlers better.... I like the Bret Hart CAW I made for HCTP, though I took out some moves and replaced them with moves that are more effective. The one thing I dislike about creating movesets is the fact that only certain moves can go to certain grapple sets. It should have been left wide open, so if someone wanted to fill the slots with all powerbombs, he could do that. Hopefully they will do that in the latest incarnation.
