Rendclaw 0 Report post Posted January 2, 2004 Yes they did those matches right. It should take several finishers to knock someone down and keep them that way, though it can come off of any reasonably strong maneuver. I remember using at least 7 or 8 finishers on Roddy Piper, putting him through tables and the like, only to put him down for the count with a standard running clothesline. That match took at least 20-30 mins.
Use Your Illusion 0 Report post Posted January 2, 2004 The last man standing matches are nuts in this game. I was The Undertaker and I beat the shit outta Nikolai Volkoff for literally 20 minutes and that fat Russian fucker kept getting up. It took about 150 chair shots 40 chokeslams and 27 last rides to put him down. Bitch, bitch, bitch, bitch. 20 minutes? PUSSY I fought Rocky for ONE GOD DAMN HOUR before that tough bastard decided it was time to call it a night. UYI
Guest OnlyMe Report post Posted January 2, 2004 Here's a fun glitch for you... Fighting in the crowd~! Elimination Chamber Edition I did this playing as the Rock, but I assume anyone with the missile dropkick can do it. 1) Wait until your opponent climbs the chamber 2) Get on the top rope in the same corner 3) Ensure you're looking at them 4) Missile dropkick The arena is pretty much the same as the Survivor Series, but with less people in the crowd (only a couple of rows on each side), and no distinguishment between the height of the stage and the floor. There's no titantron, either. As an addendum, the second (and third etc) persons are easy to get out of the cage. Just have the person that has already left the cage stand behind a chamber, and missile dropkick them from the top rope. You'll easily go through the cage. You also don't have to do a missile dropkick; any top rope move where you go in pretty much a straight line forwards will work. This is much, MUCH easier to pull off than the non-EC method, with 100% success so far. Also, I tried going out as far as I could in a normal match. One person ran all the way to the left, and one all the way to the right. I got bored before it had the chance to crash, but the whole arena was smaller than a character's head usually is, so the limits are pretty damn good. Nothing, and I mean, NOTHING, feels as good as bashing someone's head into a steel chair with ease. Seriously, if I ever have a match that's no DQ and I'm the heel, I immediately go for the chair. Screw the rules, it's all about the CHAIR SHOT!

Guest JumpinJackFlash Report post Posted January 7, 2004 My friend was playing as the Rock, going up against Bubba Ray Dudley in a Last Man Standing match, and he was getting up as well. Bubba was on full red, and he still got up. Rock Bottom through the ANNOUNCE TABLE, but still got up. Rock Bottom off the announce table and onto concrete(about a 3-foot fall...ouch) but still got up. It took him over 20 minutes. Jeez.....But the game is awesome! Except for in season mode, I keep getting beat up by Kane, even though I'm Shawn Michaels. Right now I have this stable with me, RVD, and Y2J, called the Heartbreakers. But we haven't been in any 6-man tags yet. Why not? Stables are supposed to be together.
Rendclaw 0 Report post Posted January 7, 2004 There are some storylines that should be pulled from past history. Hell, I can think of two or three just from Dames' review of Disc One of the Ric Flair DVD. Once again, three matches per event are not enough, there should be at least 5, if not 7. ALL of the titles need to be on the line at every PPV, regardless of who is holding them. The big four PPVs should have matches for every title going on, even if a player is holding all of them. I do like how you have to wrestle multiple times if you;re a multiple champion, though a little damage carrying over from the previous match to the next match would make it more realistic. Opponents going for finishers early in the match is just plain stupid, not to mention getting pinned by a finisher even though the affected body part was turned yellow. It needs to be at least orange to score a pin. I like the fact that you need to work in order to get your wins (except in slobber knocker), but the amount of reversals in the matches goes beyond the ridiculousness in Just Bring It. I said it before when we were all drooling in anticipation; there needs to be a happy medium with reversals. Too few or too many lead to HIGH levels of frustration. To me there is nothing more annoying that beating the living hell out of someone to where they have one or two red areas, you go for your finisher and you get it reversed and they hit their finisher and pin you (or what I like to call it, HHH Syndrome, since his wrestler does it more often than anyone else, big surprise, huh?). As a wrestler takes more damage, then chance of reversing a hold should be MUCH less than what it is at the start of a match. There is some of that in there, but the degradation is nowhere near what I think it should be, and when you have red areas on your wrestler's body, it should be hella steep. The more severely damaged areas, the worse it is. Just one man's opinion, TIFWIW.
tetsubeav 0 Report post Posted January 8, 2004 I was just thinking last night that one nifty little addition they could do for certain submission hold animations (primarily sleepers) is to add the ref arm check thing. If you break it your arm stays up on the third try, if not it obviously falls. (Sorry, spent most of last night fueding with Piper and spending quality time in his sleeper/choke.) DrVenkman PhD 0 Report post Posted January 13, 2004 If this has been discussed somewhere else in this 61 page beast of a thread, I apologize, but I don't have time to go look. In the manager vs male wrestler storyline climax on PPV, can the match only end by the manager's special move? I FINALLY finished the storyline right, but it seemed odd. I was HHH, and Stacy was fighting D-Von. I must have given D-Von 11 pedigrees or more, and he was totally red from various steel chair shots as well. Each time, he kicked out. Then, finally, Stacy got her special, used it, and pinned him. We kissed and everyone was happy. I also had something happen backstage that hasn't before. I talked to Benoit, when Victoria came up and they had a date all set up. I then said Jazz was looking better, Victoria got mad and left, and Benoit said I was ruining his fun. I got 5exp for being a better Heel, apparently.
Rendclaw 0 Report post Posted January 13, 2004 Oh yeah, I got that one... its a nice touch. Is it me or are there too few storylines this time out? Oh sure they have a lot of minor ones that stretch out over three shows or so, but there seems to be only eight or so "main" storylines. Personally I'm tired of the female manager storyline because it doesn;t go anywhere past the blowoff. I think that if you complete a storyline, you should have something to indicate it, like in the aforementioned manager storyline, you should have an option of bringing out your manager in non-storyline matches, and so forth.... Its more the little things that make a game a classic, IMO.

I don't know whatever happened to that. I think it might have to do with who you choose.. I've noticed a few different storylines the second time I've taken a character through season mode. There are still quite a few repeats though.

USC Wuz Robbed! 0 Report post Posted January 16, 2004 No.... I'm not humoring you. My HCTP killed my PS2 seriously. I'm now on my second PS2 and I'm stuck playing SYM.
TheFranchise 0 Report post Posted January 16, 2004 Actually, since i fixed my PS2, i found four games and was playing JBI last night. Why did Michael Cole keep saying 'slobberknocker'?? And did it ever seem odd that they spend about 20 seconds introducing THEMSELVES?? And why did your PS2 break?
USC Wuz Robbed! 0 Report post Posted January 16, 2004 Well my PS2 was working just beautifully until I bought the HCTP. It was working okay for a day.....then the shit hit the fan. It just all of sudden decides to freeze on me. I thought it was kinda normal, so I reset. It hasn't worked since.
TheFranchise 0 Report post Posted January 16, 2004 No way Well, ask yourself this. SD: HCTP or my GC's WM 18.
USC Wuz Robbed! 0 Report post Posted January 16, 2004 Considering I have SD HCTP, SYM, JBI, Know Your Role and the original SD game as well as No Mercy, Wrestlemania 2000 for N64 as well as Mania X8 and Mania X9 for Cube.... I would pick No Mercy for the nostalgic factor, Mania X9 for the game play, HCTP for the storylines (from what I have seen/played so far).....
TheFranchise 0 Report post Posted January 16, 2004 I have all the N64 games apart from No Mercy (i always liked WCW/nWo Revenge!) And i have all the SD games up to SD:JBI (SYM came out when my PS2 was broken) I have WM 18 for the GC along with LOW 1 and 2. I also have Raw 1 and 2 for the X Box, and they SUCK. TheFranchise 0 Report post Posted January 16, 2004 They do? I only played two times!! They just compare to the SD series, i never saw the sense in playing anything other than SD.
