bob_barron 0 Report post Posted August 21, 2003 For the 9/3 show, first round results were Kazarian b Shane, Sabin b Lynn, Teddy Hart b Jonny Storm and Juventud Guerrera b Nosawa. All matches were only about 5:00. Funny that the crowd was far more into the last two matches, which contained non-regulars, and the first two who are there every week on TV. The Ghost of bps21 0 Report post Posted August 21, 2003 Since they have 2 hours to fill I've got to imagine that the semi finals and finals are going to be full length matches...and the finals will probably be long.
SpikeFayeJettEdBebop 0 Report post Posted August 21, 2003 Im hoping the Finals is a clean finish, EXCELLENT 30-35 minute match. Im thinking Semis with be maybe 20 minutes each....Its the only way they can fill the entire two hours...BUT....AGAIN...BUT, who ever said the Super X Cup would be like other TNA shows....it doesnt mean they are filling up an hour. They could do an hour long show and have all the matches short except the Finals, and that only be liek 10-5 minutes......TNA is just going down the shitter except for the few really awesome matches that they put n(They could put on AWESOME matches all the time, but they dont)
Guest TDinDC1112 Report post Posted August 21, 2003 Teddy "Who the fuck are you?" Hart advances and Lynn jobs? Why doesn't anyone know who Teddy Hart is??? He has wrestled in Calgary and in Japan. He's supposed to be a great worker. He also apperaed on the recent HBO piece on Real Sports about drugs. I believe the only reason he's not in WWE is that he's a real Dick. Jerry Lynn's job is to elevate younger talent - that should be his role in the company. He has the ability to make others better. Lynn has no business defeating Chris Sabin at this stage. Sabin is the future and clearly has "it."
Guest Burning Hammer Report post Posted August 21, 2003 Teddy Hart *I Believe* was also working under the blue blazer mask in the angle with Owen Hart shortly before Owen died. Teddy was playing the blazer when Owen and the blazer would show up at the same place. I think it only happened once but that is my recolection of who was playing the part at the time. Corey_Lazarus 0 Report post Posted August 21, 2003 As long as Kazarian gets eliminated in the semi's, I'm fine. That fucker has had 2 good matches in TNA so far (vs. Sabin, non-title, and the Ultimate X) that weren't carry jobs.

syxx2001 0 Report post Posted August 21, 2003 I thought he was related to Jimmy Hart. Good thing he's not so I guess he could be a good worker. And whats with all of the people pissy over the 5 minute macthes? Jesus, if they have 20 minute matches in the opening then they would have to shorten the main event matches or whatever. Guest trickstyle_360 Report post Posted August 23, 2003 Ted Hart is real good. And I have no idea they put the belt on Michael Shane, he's so over-rated.
Guest The Real Nosferatu Report post Posted August 23, 2003 I'm guessing since its a Tourny, their are Time Limits. First Round Matches are usually 10 Minute Time Limits (sometimes 15) and the number usually doubles each round unless there is 4. (ex.: R1: 10 R2: 20 R3: 40 OR R1: 15 R2: 30 R3: 1 Hr.) I'd love to see the finals to be 40-ish minutes, but thats not gonna happen.
bob_barron 0 Report post Posted August 27, 2003 --The actual times of the X Cup matches from last week (airing 9/3) and notes from someone who wished to remain nameless: Kazarian vs. Shane - Crowd not into it. Kazarian with a roll-up after a rana. Nothing special and crowd could care less (3:24); Sabin vs. Lynn - A little better reaction. Callis threatens to fire Lynn. Sabin kicked Lynn in the BUTT, but it looked like it was supposed to be a low blow for hte pin. Better than the first, said to be "Velocity level" match (3:30); Ted Hart vs. Jonny Storm - Hart tried to get the crowd going. Storm did a somersault plancha resulting in a "Holy s**t" chant. Good execution. Beautiful top rope Asai moonsault by Hart. Hart trying to get the crowd up. Hart on top and slips bad doing shooting star (almost surely will be edited out). "You f***ed up" chants. Storm was a total pro, reacting smoothly and hitting a Michinoku driver and went to the top rope. As he came off, Hart dropkicked him and hit the shooting star (3:42); Juventud Guerrera vs. Nosawa - Guerrera got the best reaction of anyone. Guerrero did a plancha outside early. He did a people's elbow to no reaction. Perfect 450 splash finish (4:31).
BoboBrazil 0 Report post Posted August 27, 2003 Chances of them bringing Juventud back, even though he is more over than any x division wrestler they have=0 Their x division would be so much more happening if they brought in Juventud and Super Crazy on a weekly basis. Guest Jay Z. Hollywood Report post Posted August 27, 2003 Yeah, I'm probably the #1 Juvi detractor on this board, but if he's popping crowds and maybe bringing in viewers, by all means make him a regular.
The Kid 0 Report post Posted August 27, 2003 Good to see Teddy on NWA-TNA, it'll be a shame not having him on Stampede cards anymore though. And guys, he's a really good worker, future star for sure...just a bad ego.
Guest EN090 Report post Posted August 28, 2003 Teddy Hart and Michael Shane in the same promotion is pretty interesting. I'd love to see the two of them do a program, playing off the Hart/Michaels feud.
BoboBrazil 0 Report post Posted August 28, 2003 Rest of spoilers: For next week's show: Juventud Guerrera b Teddy Hart - this had the most heat of the three tournament matches Chris Sabin b Frankie Kazarian - Aside from heel fans cheering Sabin, crowd not into this. Both matches went about 8:00 Sabin b Guerrera in 12:00 to win. Last few minutes were good but crowd not into it until the end. In the War Games, the faces won in about 16:00. After the match, Legend and Siaki jumped Rhodes. The New Church got Raven alone in the cage and did a number on him.

Placebo Effect 0 Report post Posted August 28, 2003 Where'd you get these Bobo? 16 minutes sounds a wee bit short for a WarGames but it should be fun Everyone said the same thing last week when the opening matches went under five minutes. I'm sure they have promos and backstage segments taped to make it to an hour and forty-five minutes or so.
The Ghost of bps21 0 Report post Posted August 28, 2003 Observations: 1. I had no idea why they made the brackets like they did until last night when Tenay said it was U.S. vs. the World. Now it makes perfect seinse. 2. Although the X champ loses in the first round...I am really happy that Sabin beat Juvi in the finals. Sabin is the guy they should feature...and Juvi is the only one on the other bracket over enough and known enough to give a rub of any kind to him. Pretty impressive streak for Sabin..beating Lynn, finally beating Kazarian and then Juvi.
The Ghost of bps21 0 Report post Posted August 28, 2003 Why James Storm wasn't out there for the end: At the end of last night's edition of NWA: Total Nonstop Action, James Storm of America's Most Wanted was not in the ring for the final angle of the night, which set up the War Games main event that will air next week. During the tag team match with Storm & Chris Harris against Simon Diamond & Johnny Swinger, Storm was hurt when he came down hard on his neck during a 4-man superplex/powerbomb spot. Storm was dizzy and disoriented, and had to be helped to the back. He was being examined by the trainer backstage while the angle took place. Later that night, when the War Games match was taped (next week's edition of NWA:TNA is a taped show), Storm insisted on taking part in the match. Following the show, he went to the hospital for X-Rays. The doctor diagnosed that he had a mild concussion and a muscle strain, but had done no damage to the neck. In a related item, just to clarify, the War Games match, which was taped last night, and will air next week, saw Jeff Jarrett, Raven, D'Lo Brown, Chris Harris & James Storm vs. AJ Styles, Shane Douglas, Simon Diamond, Johnny Swinger & Christopher Daniels, with Erik Watts as referee and Dusty Rhodes in charge of the cage door. Next week's show will feature the War Games match, and the eight man "Super X" tournament. Here are the first round matches: - Juventud Guerrera vs. Nosawa. - Jonny Storm vs. Teddy Hart. - Jerry Lynn vs. Chris Sabin. - Frankie Kazarian vs. Michael Shane. -1wrestling. ........................ When they did the move I said to my friend that it was a risky move for the guy on top. It looked safe...but the guy suplexing him had to be real strong to get him all the way over with no real base to stand on. The timing made it a risk...and it did some damage afterall. Teddy and Babu were cut from the WWF developmental program because Teddy was a dick and Babu was all screwed up on drugs and had an attempted sexual assault one night during a camp that the Pritchards found out about.
