Lightning Flik Posted September 1, 2003 Report Posted September 1, 2003 Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 8388608 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 9385 bytes) in /home/virtual/site4/fst/var/www/html/sources/Topics.php on line 277 It's been happening now a lot. It's almost every half a time I've gone into a topic lately, so what exactly is this thing?
The Kid Posted September 1, 2003 Report Posted September 1, 2003 Yeah same here, that keeps on happening too.
CanadianChris Posted September 1, 2003 Report Posted September 1, 2003 It's happened here for months. Not a great solution, but if you hit refresh about 30 times or so, it'll clear and go away for awhile.
Lightning Flik Posted September 1, 2003 Author Report Posted September 1, 2003 Well, hitting the refresh button 30 time is getting awfully annoying as it's just a pain in the ass thing to do. I do not want to be having to have to hit that refresh button more than at least 5 times.
Guest stardust Posted September 1, 2003 Report Posted September 1, 2003 Hit the back arrow, go to another topic or folder, and after a few minutes you can normally get into the topic you were trying to get into in the first place. I'm guessing it happens when too many people are trying to look at one thread or something.

I'm guessing it happens when too many people are trying to look at one thread or something. Uh that isn't working. Like I'll a period without a problem, but as soon as I hit one of those thingies, it's like a bloody cascading effect in which I can't get into any folders or threads.
Guest stardust Posted September 1, 2003 Report Posted September 1, 2003 It does that to me sometimes, too. That's when you either go to another web site for a while or close your web browser for a few minutes, then try to open TSM back up.
The Dames Posted September 1, 2003 Report Posted September 1, 2003 Just hit refresh a bunch of times in a row and your page will come up with no problem. The error barely bothers me now because of it. Dames
MrRant Posted September 1, 2003 Report Posted September 1, 2003 That isn't exactly helpful IMO Dames. Clicking refresh a bunch of times is a pain especially if the guy is on dial up. Perhaps a visit to Invision's website would a good place to go to figure out what is causing it and if it can be fixed.
Guest Scotsman Posted September 2, 2003 Report Posted September 2, 2003 Increase the amount of memory needed by PHP in the php.ini and that'll fix it.
MrRant Posted September 3, 2003 Report Posted September 3, 2003 Crap.. now there will be a bunch of SCOTSMAN~! posts. Goddamn it.
Bruiser Chong Posted September 11, 2003 Report Posted September 11, 2003 This board is out of shape, mang. It needs work on its cardio.
Guest Choken One Posted September 11, 2003 Report Posted September 11, 2003 I thought we figured it was AOL's fault...
