Vern Gagne 0 Report post Posted October 29, 2003 It's such BS that Florida St. is 3rd in the BCS rankings. FSU's schedule's been difficult enough to warrant being 3rd in the rankings.
Spicy McHaggis 0 Report post Posted October 29, 2003 But SC's computer rankings are a joke.
Damaramu 0 Report post Posted October 29, 2003 OU's ready. They're ready to beat OSU. I've been going around school and everybody is fired up. I am so glad I'm not going to that game....because if OU loses....then there will be a riot in Norman......damn.
Guest jpclemmons Report post Posted October 29, 2003 Southern Cal vs Wash St.. the game that will decide the pac-10 championship.
Damaramu 0 Report post Posted October 29, 2003 So...if OU beats OSU it's looking like they may repeat 2000 and become National Champs again. Anyone agree or disagree?
Edwin MacPhisto 0 Report post Posted October 29, 2003 FSU really hasn't played a very tough schedule when you break it down. North Carolina, Duke, and Colorado were free wins. The rest of the wins have been over the middle of the ACC, which has about as much parity as any other league right now. All the other ACC teams are quite good and have basically been trading wins around all season...but none of those teams are great right now. And Miami just plain beat the taste out of the Seminoles. But, basically, if everyone holds at one loss, FSU won't even hold on to that third spot. USC will move past them and even a one-loss Miami will probably stay ahead of them, if I'm reading the system right. Barring something wild--Miami loses to both Pitt and VA Tech, maybe--FSU isn't getting close to the Sugar Bowl.
Spicy McHaggis 0 Report post Posted October 29, 2003 The pollsters will also move FSU down (if Miami loses) to protect the system.
lomasmoney 0 Report post Posted October 30, 2003 what i want to see is everyone lose twice then it really gets ugly as fuck it would end up being like michigan vs bowling green or some crazy shit and then people would be clamoring for a playoff
Vern Gagne 0 Report post Posted October 30, 2003 The pollsters will also move FSU down (if Miami loses) to protect the system. It will work out in the end. That means more an undefeated major conferene team will win the Sugar Bowl. Remembering 2000. I had forgotten that Washington beat Miami and had 1 loss has well. So Miami wasn't has really shafted. Bored 0 Report post Posted October 30, 2003 Remembering 2000. I had forgotten that Washington beat Miami and had 1 loss has well. So Miami wasn't has really shafted. Well that was only 2nd game of the season and it was on the road. Washington themselves only lost one game that year so they also had a beef. That's the problem with the BCS is it can't take into account if two similarly ranked teams played head-to-head and who won. The BCS only "works" when you get two major conference undefeated teams like last year.
C Dubya 04 0 Report post Posted October 30, 2003 Everyone in this thread seems to have missed the big news that The University of Delaware Fighting Blue Hens beat a 1A school and are now ranked #2 in the country. Realizes that no one cares, but I still have to support the School.
Guest Just J Report post Posted October 30, 2003 I think it's funny how nobody is giving Georgia the props they deserve. They should be ahead of FSU right now in the BCS.
Vern Gagne 0 Report post Posted October 30, 2003 Why should Georgia even be ahead of LSU? LSU beat Georgia, and they both have 1 loss.
Guest Just J Report post Posted October 31, 2003 Georgia has played a harder schedule then LSU.
Vern Gagne 0 Report post Posted October 31, 2003 Ok LSU doesn't deserve it over Georgia. I still say the way Georgia's played the last 2 weeks, they shouldn't be ahead of USC, or Florida St.
Bored 0 Report post Posted October 31, 2003 Yes dogging it and having to sweat out wins against Vanderbilt and UAB is not the sign of a national championship contender. Besides my thing has always been if two teams have the same number of losses but they played head-to-head, the winner of that game should always be ranked higher than the loser. Damaramu 0 Report post Posted November 1, 2003 Whoo! It's Bedlam time! OU vs. OSU. Biggest game in the country today.
Bored 0 Report post Posted November 1, 2003 Bah, the biggest game in the country is the only match-up of two Top 10 teams that being USC/Washington State despite ABC's stupid decision to make it a west coast only game. On the surface people would probably think its a bigger game for Wazzu but if USC loses they go from potentially playing in Rose Bowl or Sugar Bowl to playing in the Sun Bowl. If they lose and UCLA wins as expected against Stanford then USC would be two games back of both Wazzu and UCLA for first in the Pac-10. For a big conference the Pac-10 has lousy bowl choices (after the Rose Bowl of course) so this is a must win for USC. Wazzu on the other hand would still be in the race for the Rose Bowl even if they lost.
Damaramu 0 Report post Posted November 1, 2003 I say this is an important game because if OU loses everyone moves up. If OU wins....well they'll probably be national champions AGAIN.
Guest Flyboy Report post Posted November 1, 2003 OU and Miami could both easily lose today causing MAD havoc in the BCS rankings. Anyhow, my Longhorns are handling Nebraska so far and we'll see how my Hokies do later on tonight.

Bored 0 Report post Posted November 2, 2003 OHHHio State pulls out the sledge and wins 21-20 over a pathetic Penn State team. Quarterback Scott McMullen just said God caused Penn State to miss the field goal at the end. Good lord. Bye, bye Georgia from the national championship picture as they lose to Florida AGAIN. UCLA is upset by STANFORD~ 21-14, ending any hope of a surprise Rose Bowl bid as they still have Washington St. and USC on the schedule.
Damaramu 0 Report post Posted November 2, 2003 Oh yeah! Kiss my ass Cowboys! OU wins! 52-9! Now if Miami wins I forsee OU/Miami for the National Championship...with OU coming out on top.
Guest Just J Report post Posted November 2, 2003 The Dawgs injuries killed them today. I can't say that I've ever seen a team have as many injuries in one season as Georgia has this year.

Spaceman Spiff 0 Report post Posted November 2, 2003 Seriously, do the refs have something against PSU or Paterno? 2 *HORRIBLE* non-calls go OSU's way late in that game (pass interference and the non-catch).
