Yeah it is!

I realize Bama has no shot, for obvious reasons, but they could give any team in the nation a good game right now.

I tell ya, we don't get no respect.

Bah all poles are bullshit and none should be voted on until midseason but the AP poll is better than the Coaches poll that is force fed to everyone by ESPN. At least the voters on the AP poll are the actual people voting. You never know if the actual coach is voting for the coaches poll in a particular week or if its a student assitant doing the voting for him.

The AP is bullshit...i can't believe Michigan jumped us (SC).

Michigan's been the most dominate team this year. I'd say you could make a strong case they should be #1.

Georgia-LSU should be good this week...

I'm just hoping I don't end up sunburned and dejected considering how LSU USUALLY plays when they have day games at Death Valley (not even considering the fact that it'll be fucking HOT there).

The Real Top 15 Rankings Should Go:

1. Miami

2. Oklahoma

3. USC

4. Michigan

5. OSU

6.Georgia

7. Virginia Tech

8. Florida State

9. LSU

10. Pittsburgh

11. Arkansas

12. Tennessee

13. Nebraska

14. Iowa

15. Kansas State

The reason why you cannot put Michigan ahead of USC is that while Michigan may have killed Notre Dame, USC's shut down of Auburn was just as impressive. Kansas State falls about 10 spots because no one with a schedule that weak for non-conference should be allowed in the Top 10. I agree that the polls shouldnt be official until at least the third week, but without polls, there is no way to accurately gauge how good a team MIGHT be

Credit goes to collegebcs.com (also is collegerpi.com for basketball which is used by ESPN) which is a pay service that compiles these rankings and ranks all Division I-A teams from 1 to 117 instead of just the Top 15. Four of the seven computer ratings in the BCS formula are not available yet and that is why these rankings are unofficial. Official rankings don't come out until October 20th but still fun to look at how the BCS is shaping up at this point.

"Kansas State falls about 10 spots because no one with a schedule that weak for non-conference should be allowed in the Top 10."

Uh huh..

It's not like K-State's playing powerhouse teams like James Madison, UConn and Central Florida!

Sure, K-State's schedule is a bit soft, but you have to think a bit about it.

McNeese State - Ranked #1 in I-AA at the time of their game in Manhattan. The #1 I-AA team could kick the asses of alot of the worst I-A teams. McNeese in I-A would be a mid-level team.

UMass is also ranked high in I-AA. But, UMass is a replacement for Miami of Ohio since they pulled out of their game with K-State. I think Miami of Ohio is decent, but the fact that they pulled out put K-State in a tough bind by changing their minds and choosing to play Colorado State.

Cal has had two close losses, but I think they won 6 games.

Lomas, who do you want K-State to play?

I figure you're a playmaker and you can get them to come to Manhattan, Kansas.

Marshall isn't too bad either. They'll be in a bowl game somehow but they will lose three straight to three good teams (Tennessee, Toledo and K-State)

The problem is one of priorities. Big time programs don't want to play K-State. Neither side can agree. The KSU program wants to make money with home games (which presumably helps to not fuck over their other teams) and they don't want to spend money on big road trips without gaining something.

K-State's conference schedule makes up for their non-conference schedule. They'll face Missouri, Nebraska (in Lincoln) and Texas (in Austin). The safe bet for the Big 12 title game right now is K-State v. Oklahoma.

well in k-state's defense they did play usc last year and i believe beat them so its not that they can't beat the big name teams its just that they dont play them. If their schedule had a team like arkansas or even georgia tech on it and maybe a mac school then it would be respectable. And yes McNesse St. is a very good team who could compete in 1-A football. My point is that if K-State has one loss and doesnt get into a BCS bowl it will most likely be due to their non-conference schedule. They do play in the Big 12 so its not like they play 12 creampuffs, they actually play about 6 or 7 really good teams in conference

Here is YOUR college football national television schedule for this week. ABC regional games are marked with an asterisk and all times are Pacific (West Coast bias!):

Thursday

Texas A&M at #8 Virginia Tech, 4:30 PM, ESPN

Friday

Hawaii at UNLV, 6:00 PM, ESPN2

Saturday

#12 Tennessee at #17 Florida, 9:00 AM, CBS

North Carolina at Wisconsin, 9:00 AM, ESPN

Texas Tech at N.C. State, 9:00 AM, ESPN2

Marshall at #6 Kansas State, 9:30 AM, FSN

Michigan State at Notre Dame, 11:30 AM, NBC

#7 Georgia at #11 LSU, 12:30 PM, CBS

#3 Michigan at #22 Oregon, 12:30 PM, ABC*

UCLA at #1 Oklahoma, 12:30 PM, ABC*

Colorado at #10 Florida State, 12:30 PM, ABC*

#16 Arizona State at #18 Iowa, 3:00 PM, ESPN2

#2 Miami at Boston College, 4:45 PM, ESPN

Not as many games as usual on Saturday. For some reason ABC only was one regional game slot this week, Fox Sports Net only has one national game, and no game on TBS this week.

I can't believe the last minute of the K-State game

Screen pass from Schwinn to Sproles, the ball is on the 5

then, on first down..

A GOD DAMN QB SNEAK???????????????????

What the fuck??

What the fuck??????????

then this sequence..

spike

5 yard penalty

spike

pass to Sproles

incomplete pass

End of game

WHAT IS SO FUCKING COMPLEX ABOUT THIS FOLLOWING IDEA

Once Sproles got you the go-ahead TD (to make it 20-19) and once he got the screen, how about this play

HAND THE BALL TO SPROLES AND GET A TOUCHDOWN

I cannot believe Marshall beat K-State.. I guess it's proof that beating UMass by 28 wasn't good.

Marshall's running game bulldozed K-State because Marshall's line was larger.

Ridiculous.. I never want to see Jeff Schwinn out there again. It's offensive to the KSU public to see Suh-diddily-uck out there.

I don't care that Michigan lost its just that the officials did not make any calls. There were so many holding calls that went uncalled and that hurt us big time. We are still in contention since we lost early. We just need to run the table because i think that miami and oklamhoma will lose and so will usc and of course we will beat lloyd carr. Great comeback by the wolverines who should look into getting a special teams unit that scores points for them instead of losing the game. A punt return, blocked punt for a td, a blocked extra point, and a botched fake fg probably cost gave oregon a good 17 points. But oregon did play well and john navarre threw a huge pick while we were driving in the fourth. Great effort by both teams and a great game i think that oregon may be the second best if not best team in michigan will play all season

Ahem.... WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.

Sorry about that. Just got back from LSU-Georgia. That interception that LSU made to seal the game still has me pumped.

OSU just refuses to job eh?

I'll get annoyed if they BARELY squeak by these MAC teams like B.G but blow out Michigan...you just KNOW that's going to happen...

But Oklahoma is damn good.

I've missed almost all the games today as I was busy so I have to see the highlights as to what happened but I'm shocked (and happy as a Pac-10 fan) that Oregon pulled off the upset. I just didn't think they had any defense at all but I guess I under estimated how tough it is to win in Eugene.

Damn and Choken has the right idea with Ohio St....they are the Triple H of college football!

Hey what happened to Kansas St. beating Marshall 48-10? Sorry Rob had to do it. :D The MAC is incredibly good this year at the top as Marshall might only be the 4th best team in the conference.

Toledo only down 24-21 to Pittsburgh in the 3rd.

Northern Illinois up 19-9 late against Alabama.

MAC for the BCS! I'd say they are better than the ACC this year.

Oh should add since I didn't have it on the national television schedule, even though I doubt anyone will care but, Texas/Rice is on ESPN2 right now. Must have been a late addition because it wasn't even listed on their website.

Northern Illinois beat Alabama 19-16. Now with that win and the Maryland win if they can go undefeated they have a shot at fucking up the BCS. They have Iowa St. next week at home so should win that one and then start conference play. They do have to play Bowling Green and Toledo on the road so it will be tough but I'm rooting for them the rest of the way now. They will definently be ranked in both polls this week.

Oh one other MAC note, Miami of Ohio blew out Colorado St. 41-21 on the road. Wow the MAC is good.

Also no one is going to care but...Stanford beat BYU 18-14 on the road, WOO HOO! I grew up a Stanford fan and they just flat out sucked last year so good to see they might turn it around this year.

Bowling Green actually worked their way up to being ranked last year...and this year beat their first ranked team (Purdue) since 1972.

They aren't a bad team...and although I didn't think they'd beat OSU...I did see them covering the spread.
