Vern Gagne 0 Report post Posted September 23, 2003 How in the holy hell is Minnesota 22nd? They haven't played anyone. Notre Dame's schedule is absolutley brutal. The next 5 games at Purdue, at Pittsburgh, vs USC, at Boston College, and vs Florida St.
lomasmoney 0 Report post Posted September 23, 2003 minnesota always does this they spend a week or so in the top 25 until they lose to northwestern or michigan state or some other lower tier big ten school. Michigan might still have a shot if they win out but the big ten looks really tough with 5 ranked teams right now. But if they play like they did against notre dame every game they can win out, but it will be so hard because of the competitiveness of the big 10(11). I can see OSU being unbeaten going into the big game because they just find ways not to lose and you have to respect that
Bored 0 Report post Posted September 23, 2003 Here is YOUR college football national television schedule for the week. All times are Pacific. Thursday #15 Nebraska at Southern Miss, 4:30 PM, ESPN Saturday #24 Minnesota at Penn State, 9:00 AM, ESPN Northwestern at #4 Ohio State, 9:00 AM, ESPN2 #23 Missouri at Kansas, 9:30 AM, FSN #9 Arkansas at Alabama, 12:30 PM, CBS #21 Washington State at #10 Oregon, 12:30 PM, ABC* #17 Pittsburgh at Texas A&M, 12:30 PM, ABC* Notre Dame at #22 Purdue, 12:30 PM, ABC* Wake Forest at Virginia, 12:30 PM, ABC* Wisconsin at Illinois, 3:00 PM, ESPN2 #3 USC at California, 3:30 PM, FSN Tulane at #14 Texas, 4:00 PM, TBS South Carolina at #8 Tennessee, 4:45 PM, ESPN #7 LSU at Mississippi State, 6:00 PM, ESPN2 Arizona State at Oregon State, 7:00 PM, FSN
Bored 0 Report post Posted September 26, 2003 Wow need to bump this before it goes to the 2nd page. Not exactly a compelling week for games with only one game between ranked teams. After the last couple of weeks have to figure things will go more to form.

Vern Gagne 0 Report post Posted September 26, 2003 Huge game for the Gophers. They play a mediocre Penn St. at Happy Valley. If they win and they should. Great Run offense vs bad run defense. The should be a top 4 Big 10 team.

Rob E Dangerously 0 Report post Posted September 27, 2003 KU's four wins are over UNLV, Wyoming, Jacksonville State, and Missouri KU will probably be 5-2 when they go into Manhattan to face K-State (they'll beat Baylor and lose to Colorado)
Bored 0 Report post Posted September 27, 2003 (edited) KU's four wins are over UNLV, Wyoming, Jacksonville State, and Missouri KU will probably be 5-2 when they go into Manhattan to face K-State (they'll beat Baylor and lose to Colorado) Not that I'm saying Kansas would win but UNLV did embarass Wisconsin (I had wondered on this board how a team could lose to a team that lost to Kansas but that's what I get) and has a nice win over Hawaii. Missouri was ranked today although after just eeking out a win over Middle Tennesee St. last week I guess you could see this one coming. Holy crap Washington St. is laying a beating to Oregon 31-2. This poses the question...how the fuck did WSU lose to Notre Dame? That might end up being the upset of the year. Edited September 27, 2003 by Bored
Agent_Bond34 0 Report post Posted September 27, 2003 What a great day in college football... NOTRE DAME HAS LOST!!! It's always a great day when Notre Dame loses. EDIT - Just had to edit this a bit.
Bored 0 Report post Posted September 27, 2003 What a great day in college football... NOTRE DAME IS LOSING!!! It's always a great day when Notre Dame loses. Is this really such an accomplishment? I feel bad for Tyrone. Note to John Saunders: Northern Illinois is supposed to beat Iowa State. Quit trying to act like its an upset. Actually judging by the score NIU didn't play a very good game. CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted September 28, 2003 What a choke job by Alabama. Up 14 in the 4th AND holding the ball in OT after stoning Arkansas, and they still lose.
Bored 0 Report post Posted September 28, 2003 Fuckin' Cal. Their best case scenerio is playing in the Las Vegas Bowl and they have to cost the Pac-10 a potential national championship.
CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted September 28, 2003 I'm having a hard time believing any team will go undefeated this season. The utter destruction of the BCS is right on schedule...
Vern Gagne 0 Report post Posted September 28, 2003 With 13 teams remaining undefeated at least 1 will remain all season long. USC gave that game away. Why did they run the ball 3 times at the end of regulation? You've got Mike Williams, use him for christ sakes.
Hogan Made Wrestling 0 Report post Posted September 28, 2003 My prediction: Oklahoma goes undefeated, everyone else loses at least once, while Michigan sneaks into the Sugar Bowl by beating Ohio State in the final game of the year.
AboveAverage484 0 Report post Posted September 28, 2003 Don't hate on Bama. They've played very well this year, considering they have no depth, which means their players are sucking wind by the start of the second half. All those bullshit sanctions that they got from that worthless piece of shit the boosters gave money to don't help them either.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted September 28, 2003 I'm praying that BCS get fucked with a boring draw for the National Title game just to bury the fucking BCS.
Hogan Made Wrestling 0 Report post Posted September 28, 2003 What's funny is that for all the bitching about the BCS, it has still managed to convincingly determine the national champion during every year of its existence. As a Michigan fan, I will take the BCS any day over seeing the #1 ranked Wolverines win their title game and fall to #2 in one poll because the stupid "traditional matchups" gave them a weaker opponent while the #2 team got to beat up on the #3 in another game. Bored 0 Report post Posted September 28, 2003 (edited) What's funny is that for all the bitching about the BCS, it has still managed to convincingly determine the national champion during every year of its existence. Oooo ya cause its sooooooooooo hard to figure out who's national champ when there is only one undefeated team at the end of the year. The NCAA has lucked out since the BCS was put in as we haven't had a year yet where the was no undeafted teams before the bowls or more than two undefeated teams before the bowls. Of course it has fucked up the national championship game twice by putting in an undeserving Florida St. team in there in 2000 to get beat up by Oklahoma and an undeserving Nebraska team in 2001 to get humiliated by Miami when the Rose Bowl was killed forever. Last year they got lucky because they were two undefeated teams at the end and it ended up being a great game and people praised the BCS for "working". *sigh* I actually don't want this topic to turn into a bowl vs. playoff topic...well not until November. Hogan Made Wrestling 0 Report post Posted September 28, 2003 The BCS also produced one of the best bowl seasons in NCAA history in 2000, where we were treated to four great games: Sugar Bowl: Florida State 46 - Virginia Tech 29 Orange Bowl: Michigan 35 - Alabama 34 (OT) Fiesta Bowl: Nebraska 31 - Tennessee 21 Rose Bowl: Wisconsin 17 - Stanford

You would have gotten the same bowl schedule under the old system with the polls just FSU/Va Tech would have been the Orange Bowl. Seriously wow a Big 10/Pac-10 match-up in the Rose Bowl...never saw that one coming. Of course the BCS has RUINED the Rose Bowl but hey they sure gave us a good game in '99 that we would have gotten regardless.

Guest Just J Report post Posted September 28, 2003 I went to Tuscaloosa Saturaday and I have to admit, it was a great game. I think Arkansas is still over-rated though. Bama had the game won and gave it away. T-town wasn't a happy place last night.
