Mik Posted September 21, 2003 Report Posted September 21, 2003 Marlins back in the lead for the Wild Card. Thank you God and Thank you Cabrera.
treble Posted September 21, 2003 Report Posted September 21, 2003 Fuck. You know I hate a team when they have me cheering for the BRAVES, of all teams.
Vern Gagne Posted September 21, 2003 Author Report Posted September 21, 2003 Seattle's making up ground on the A's. A win Sunday and their only 2 games back, and they still play at Seattle next weekend.
Bored Posted September 21, 2003 Report Posted September 21, 2003 Seattle's making up ground on the A's. A win Sunday and their only 2 games back, and they still play at Seattle next weekend. And the A's can all but lock it up if they win tommorrow...which they better. The worst thing about it for me is having to read an A's message board I go to and have to read all the sky is falling posts after every loss and I'm not just talking about this weekend. You would have thought the A's were eliminated from the playoffs after they loss on a game winning homerun to Angels earlier in the week, a loss preceded by a seven game winning streak. Anyone else expierence the gloom and doom type of fans of their favorite team?
Vern Gagne Posted September 21, 2003 Author Report Posted September 21, 2003 I was like that with the Twins this year. I started a thread about it. Of course they where playing like absolute dog crap so it's not the really the same.
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted September 21, 2003 Report Posted September 21, 2003 Anyone else expierence the gloom and doom type of fans of their favorite team? The Phillie fans invented it.
Bored Posted September 21, 2003 Report Posted September 21, 2003 A's are crushing the Mariners 12-0. They can clinch before the final Seattle series with as sweep of Texas (who they swept last week) or 2 out of 3 against Texas and a Mariner loss to Anaheim.
Vern Gagne Posted September 22, 2003 Author Report Posted September 22, 2003 Well the Twins will probably have to sweep the Indians (2 games) if they want to clinch at home. Kansas City gets Detroit at home.
Mik Posted September 23, 2003 Report Posted September 23, 2003 Marlins win. +1 on Phils with 6 to play. Big time series starts tomorrow!
the max Posted September 23, 2003 Report Posted September 23, 2003 Home plate ump in the DRays @ Toronto game was a fucking joke. Ruined the game for me.
Rob E Dangerously Posted September 23, 2003 Report Posted September 23, 2003 The Tigers lose #118 Oh yeah.. Jays fans.. Dan Reichert really sucks. Why did he come in to relieve Halladay?
treble Posted September 23, 2003 Report Posted September 23, 2003 The whole bullpen sucks, really, but he's probably one of the worst. No idea why he came in, he would have been one of my last choices.
Rob E Dangerously Posted September 23, 2003 Report Posted September 23, 2003 Dan Reichert earned my wrath for.. a) being a POS on the Royals b) blowing an intentional walk against the White Sox in July
Rob E Dangerously Posted September 23, 2003 Report Posted September 23, 2003 If you wanna get technical about it.. we canned his ass, he signed with the Devil Rays, they released him, and the Blue Jays signed him on their own
CanadianChris Posted September 23, 2003 Report Posted September 23, 2003 If you wanna get technical about it.. we canned his ass, he signed with the Devil Rays, they released him, and the Blue Jays signed him on their own Man...must've been Ricciardi's day off.
the max Posted September 23, 2003 Report Posted September 23, 2003 The Tigers lose #118 Oh yeah.. Jays fans.. Dan Reichert really sucks. Why did he come in to relieve Halladay? Halladay got ejected for 'throwing at' Rocco Baldelli, when in fact, the pitch had a ton of movement, and hit Baldelli. No warning, nothing. Just threw him out of the game.

You sure they didn't warn him after he hit Rolls with a pitch?
treble Posted September 23, 2003 Report Posted September 23, 2003 Well, apparently, there was one before the game. TORONTO (CP) -- The warning came moments before the first pitch, during a pre-game conference with the umpires at home plate. Major League Baseball believes there's bad blood between the Toronto Blue Jays and Tampa Bay Devil Rays and they wouldn't tolerate any trouble. But, for whatever reason, Carlos Tosca didn't tell Halladay about it. Still a bullshit call, if you ask me.
Rob E Dangerously Posted September 23, 2003 Report Posted September 23, 2003 Considering the pre-game warning, and Halladay hitting two batters, how many would be hit until something was done. The precedent is for BS calls, like Jason Grimsley getting ejected for hitting Ichiro with an 0-2 count and 2 outs and a few on in the Top of the 9th.
CanadianChris Posted September 23, 2003 Report Posted September 23, 2003 Yeah...umpires need to realize that batters get hit for reasons other that pitchers throwing right at them. I mean, you throw a hard, spherical object at speeds exceeding 90mph to within a foot of a person, a few are going to get away from you occasionally.
Bruiser Chong Posted September 24, 2003 Report Posted September 24, 2003 Fun night tonight, with the Cubs winning, Kerry Wood going quite far with a no-hitter, the Giants getting a 10 spot in the second against the Stros, and the Marlins and Phillies in the middle of a nail-biter.
Spaceman Spiff Posted September 24, 2003 Report Posted September 24, 2003 Arrrggghhh, Phuckin' Phillies. Sailing along w/ a 3-0 lead, then walk-walk-HR -> tie game. And, hey, Mesa's pitching now. Wonderful.
Spaceman Spiff Posted September 24, 2003 Report Posted September 24, 2003 Motherfuckers. Phillies can't lose another game in this series.
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted September 24, 2003 Report Posted September 24, 2003 I almost feel physically ill after watching that game. Seriouisly, every day I get this feeling of impending doom. And Jeff F'n Conine? Why is it that some guys wait until the worst possible opportunity to stop being worthless?
Spaceman Spiff Posted September 24, 2003 Report Posted September 24, 2003 Conine had a good series when the Marlins were last in Philly. You'd think they'd learn to be careful around this guy.
KingPK Posted September 24, 2003 Report Posted September 24, 2003 Dammit, that's it, DAVID ORTIZ FOR MUTHAFUCKIN' MVP!!!!
the max Posted September 24, 2003 Report Posted September 24, 2003 I really wanted to see the Marlins v. Phillies, but FSN decided that Tampa @ Toronto was more important. Bastards.
JangoFett4Hire Posted September 24, 2003 Report Posted September 24, 2003 Walker and Ortiz doing thier part to make Choken One and NocalMike look like LIYAHS!!!
