King Kamala 0 Report post Posted September 7, 2003 Does anyone mark out for the Nickelodeon episodes of Doug as much as me. Maybe it's a being a child of the 90's, but I always mark out when I'm up at 6 in the morning and Doug reruns are on. Too many "great" episodes to mention. My favorite has to be the episode where Doug formed a band where he was the lead singer/banjo player, that song that was supposed to be their big hit was so damn catchy. Tawren 0 Report post Posted September 7, 2003 I loved that show. The early versions sucked, but when it got to the newer episodes, it got funnier.
King Kamala 0 Report post Posted September 7, 2003 I hope you aren't talking about the Doug episodes on ABC. Except for the one where Doug exposed some evil junk food ingrediant, most of the episodes blew.

King Kamala 0 Report post Posted September 7, 2003 Gotta move, you got run, YOU GOTTA SHOUT YOUR LUNGS OUT! One of the Beets lesser hits, one of the worst ABC episodes was the one where they found out that Doug's dad recorded an album in the 70's and the Beets were a huge fan of it. King Kamala 0 Report post Posted September 7, 2003 Nickelodeon or Disney should have released a Beets album at Doug's peak. Hell I think it might have sold quite a few copies. I know I'd buy several copies. Let's also not forget that Doug started the phenomenal comeback of Don Knotts. Forget John Travolta in Pulp Fiction, Don Knotts on Doug was THE comeback of the 90's! Karnage 0 Report post Posted September 7, 2003 Disney ruined Doug. Making Roger rich, getting rid of the Honker Burger, etc.
Guest The Upright Man Report post Posted September 7, 2003 Doug was a filthy fuck and I'm GLAD that that piece of shit died. I only wish he could’ve suffered more. HUMAN FUCKING GARBAGE.
PsychoDriver 0 Report post Posted September 7, 2003 (edited) I am a huge Doug mark, I lived on that show as a kid. It's perhaps my favorite childrens cartoon show ever. I've scared a good share of my friends with my frightening knowledge of that show. too bad "Doug" sold out to Disney (who ruined the show in so many ways it's not even funny). Just look at some of the good side characters that show had: Smash Adams, Sky Davis (and his Sky Davis Air-Jets), The Beets, Race Canyon, Man O'Steel Man, Jack Bandit, Quail Man, Silver Skeeter, Dr. Klotzinstein, Fluke, Ol' Chester, Hamlet, Stinky, Hamburger boy, The never seen principal Mr Buttsavage, Mr. Swirly, Ronald Wisenheimer among others... Total classic. Hope they release the NICK Era Doug on DVD, of course that'll probably never happen thanks to Disney. Golgo 13 0 Report post Posted September 7, 2003 (edited) I really hated this show. It sucked when the eps were first run, it sucks years later, and Disney SOMEHOW managed to make it worse than it already was. There's not one funny thing in all the episodes I've seen. The most objectionable part of the show is the whiny bitch of a main character himself. Nothing likable about him, except for his purpose as a punching bag for Roger. On a whole it's just an example of the shit which passes for children's cartoons these days. Edited September 7, 2003 by KingOfOldSchool

Guest JumpinJackFlash Report post Posted September 7, 2003 I like Doug, but there were only 10 shows in the good days of the show. I like the one where Doug finds a lucky hat. When Doug had to write a paper on Silk, but decided to play a video game instead. Doug as the Honker Burger dude was awesome! "One little voice is calling me, calling me! One little voice is calling me!" I can't believe they kicked Doug out of his band after he wrote a song like that. The fight in the A/V room? Those people were stupid for not knowing something was up. Killer Tofu is the shit! Funniest thing was when Doug hit his weird neighbor's grill, and had a dream about it that night. When he went to his neighbor's house to apologize, the neighbor turned into a werewolf. Remeber when Doug was home alone during a storm? Great stuff there. Doug with the zit that had a mind of its own! Doug played Truth or Dare, and thought he would end up kissing Pattie. Roger proved otherwise. Quailman, who was real smart, but wore his underwear over his pants and a belt on his head. Doug spent over 50 dollars trying to win a publisher's clearing type contest. Why so much? Porkchop was cool, as was Skeeter, who "moved" in one of the episodes. Doug's costume to the school dance was dumb. Why did he wear it? Judy was a great actress, since she portrayed a man, even though she was too hot to be a man. Doug ran for Treasurer, was honest, and won. I wish it worked for me. Roger got more than he bargained for when he won the box car derby, and became vice mayor. What other great episodes are there?
PsychoDriver 0 Report post Posted September 7, 2003 Doug ran for Treasurer, was honest, and won. I wish it worked for me. Actually Doug lost... Skeeter's Uncle Dan Freebird won (Skeeter used his Uncle's old campaign posters because He and Doug had the same intitals and people just voted for him I guess)

A Happy Medium 0 Report post Posted September 10, 2003 Remember the episode where Doug and Skeeter went to see The Beets, lost their tickets, but then got to see the show by helping with the equipment? That was all the more classic when that didn't work in The Jerky Boys. Oh, and at the concert.. Doug: Wow, Skeet!! She touched my arm! Skeeter: That's nothing, I just got stepped on!! Ed Wood Caulfield 0 Report post Posted September 10, 2003 I am THE Doug mark. I've seen every episode about 1,000 times and loved each one. I based my whole life around him when I was little. And I think I may be the only one who actually LIKED the Disney episodes. Sure, I didn't find them AS great as the Nick ones, but I still enjoyed them alot. I cried so damn much when the series finale aired. It was like a family member died, THAT'S how much I cried. Keep in mind I was 11 when the finale aired, so it was a pretty big moment for me. I didn't cried watching the MST3K finale, yet I cried when I saw the Doug finale. That suprises me to this day. There are so many memorable episodes. I LOVE the one when Doug forms a band. I also love the one when Doug and Patti go out on a date yet Doug keeps denying it's a date. The thing I hated was how they never came through with their promise that Doug and Patti would finally get together. They teased it since the first episode but they never came through with it and that pissed me off. The only thing they let you know in the series finale is that they would go on their first date but that's it. No kiss, nothing. Just like the Futurama finale, disapointing. I also was one of the few people to actually see "Doug's First Movie" in theatres. I loved all the characters. I always loved each Quailman episode. I even drew my own Quailman cartoons and made my own comic books based on Quailman. I ripped off the Power Rangers also and called it "The Quails". I was 6 when I drew this so that's why the name sucked. I never got how Doug didn't get the hype nor the recongition as Rugrats did, despite Doug being the better show. Doug is like MST3K in that it never got the recongtion it deserved. "So long everybody. It's been fun. Your friend forever, Doug." I cried so much after that last line. Great show, man, great show. Ripper 0 Report post Posted September 10, 2003 Y...you cried watching the Doug Finalie? DIdn't that go off like 2-3 years ago. *slowly backs away* But the show was kick ass, though. Until, as said before, Disney murdered it. "Killer Tofu" has Grammy written all over it too.
Ed Wood Caulfield 0 Report post Posted September 12, 2003 Doug ended in April 1999. And yes, I actually cried for about 8 HOURS after it ended. I had it on tape so I just played the finale over and over and over again. And Disney DID NOT MURDER DOUG!
DerangedHermit 0 Report post Posted September 12, 2003 Doug ended in April 1999. And yes, I actually cried for about 8 HOURS after it ended. I had it on tape so I just played the finale over and over and over again. And Disney DID NOT MURDER DOUG! Hah! You cried. Pussy. Oh, and sure, Disney didn't murder Doug; they just put a slippery bar of soap in his hands and sent him off to prison... Doug ruled though.
Ed Wood Caulfield 0 Report post Posted September 12, 2003 I actually had no promblem with the changes that took place during the Disney years. I thought it was cool how they freshened up the show. *And since Doug was suppose to be based on real kids lives*, it made sense since kids do go through changes in their lives as they grow up. *The creator, Jim Jenkins, based Doug loosely on his life and the lives of his kids and their friends.*
Ed Wood Caulfield 0 Report post Posted September 12, 2003 And I still have no idea why I cried so much after the Doug series finale. I didn't cry after the MST3K finale and I'm borderline OBSESSED with that show. It's a mystery I'm still trying to figure out four years later. I think I should have hung out with my friends more back in April 1999. And as for why Skeeter had blue skin, Jim Jenkins, the creator of Doug, said that he made Doug's friends different skin colors to show that friendship knows no color and that you can be friends with anyone no matter what the color of their skin.
