Chris Jericho turning face?

Recommended Posts

Well, there was talk of Jericho going back to being a face back in May, but that was before they decided to go along with Goldberg / Jericho which originally wasn't even supposed to happen in the first place.

Do you want to see him blow spots like he did in 2001 again?

That's hardly down to whether he's a heel or a face. There's not really a significant change in his moveset, that I've noticed anyway.

Jericho's annoying as hell as a face, as most people are. Thumbs down for a proposed face turn.

He's boring as a heel. The only heat he gets is from saying assclown and jackass every 5 words and his promos aren't even funny like they used to be

Six words...What About You? What About Raisin?

Come on, only 10 year olds and the mentally challenged laughed at that.

I must be 10 or retarded.

Or maybe I'm laughing for how stupid that is. Yes, Thats it, because its stupid.

Who could forget Raven complaining about never getting a hot dog when he was a kid?

While we're on the subject of wrestlers who play good heels who suddenly turn into awful faces, what about Jamie Noble getting his ass kicked the majority of the time in tag team matches and making the tag to his inferior tag team partner, Billy Gunn? If that isn't a clear indication of a reduced moveset after a transformation into a face, I don't know what is.

That isn't a clear indication of a reduced moveset after turning face, it's a clear indication that yet another pointless attempt at pushing Billy Gunn is in progress.

Seriously, what moves can be done by heels but not faces? Anything that involves restholds for an extended period of time is obviously classic heel stuff, but other than that, pretty much nothing. Turning face is more likely to expand a moveset, IMO.

The Rock? Stone Cold? Face Chris Jericho? Angle in 2001? Even Benoit to a certain extent? What do all of them have in common? That's right, stale movesets as faces, which = boring ringwork(not taking anything away from Jericho, Benoit, or Angle, I'm just saying). That's the WWE style for you.

Austin = revolutionized the Main Event style as a face in 1998, so I don't know HOW that makes him stale...of course that was 5 years ago.

Well, I guess you could say that because of WWE's new style that was set in place sometime around 1998, Austin was the first one to use it, and it continued with other upper mid-card/main-event faces after that, unfortunately.

I actually don't see HHH going face. As a face, he's horrible. Now I don't like Jericho as a face as much as I like him as a heel, but at least he's still alright as a face. Trips is a really, really bad face. He's a good heel.

I know. I hated him in DX and I hated him in 2002. His arrogance makes him a natural heel, if only he ever got his comeuppance.

If Jericho is turning face and HHH is too, Jericho should actually be thrilled because it buys him more time out of the line of fire.

And I prefer Jericho as a heel myself, but he was more over as a face, regardless of how annoying he was at times, than he is as a heel. So it only makes good business sense to push Jericho as a heel since he seems to get more response from the crowds that way.

There are pros and cons for Jericho (hell, anybody, not just Jericho) being face or heel with HHH. Sure, he's not facing him, which usually ends bad to those who do face him. But then Jericho will never be in the top feud because HHH is. Know what I'm saying? If HHH is a face, he'll be the top face. If he's a heel, like now, he will be, and is, the top heel.

I doubt that. If HHH is a face too, he is going to be shown kicking the hell out of heels that Jericho builds up.

As in:

Jericho feuds with Test, loses.

Test goes on to feud with HHH, and immediately breaks his ribs when HHH gives him a mean look.

If Jericho builds up heels for HHH, he's merely doing the same thing he does now for HHH, only on the opposite side of the fence. So I don't see how it's any better or worse, only that he's being put in a position where he's better at drawing crowd response.

And if your exact situation ever happens with HHH looking at Test, causing his ribs to break, after he annihilates Jericho, I'll send you a $100.00 check in the mail.

If you think HHH is boring and his promos are bad as a heel, then try to remember his little face run after returning at the 2002 Royal Rumble......uuuugh....the guy's promos were even worse and the face character doesnt fit him one bit.....he's good as a dick heel because.....well he's REALLY a dick

What about the promo when he talked about Steph's breasts being the size of the Grand Canyon? Ugh, that sounded like a forced joke and the only thing it did was just put more focus on Steph and HHH than Jericho and HHH (and we all know what happened a week before Wrestlemania, now don't we?) . I agree with you on HHH being a horrible face in 2002.

Actually, when Jericho was a face in 2001 and faced RVD (who was a heel at the time) at Unforgiven, RVD seemingly got bigger pops than Jericho, so it would have made sense if Jericho was turned heel right then and there, but WWE did it two months later and waited it out, much like they did so many times in the past for The Rock, whose pops were also dwindling a few years back.

It'll just be a matter of time before Jericho's face pops could possibly fizzle out "AGAYYYNNNNE" if Jericho does turn face.

I guess you didn't think it was funny because you didn't get it. He wasn't talking about her breasts. He was saying her vagina was like the grand canyon because she was such a slut.

Oh, and neither Jericho or HHH should turn face. The Kane turn finally made some balance by giving Raw three main event heels and all another face turn would do would help bury all the faces on Raw by moving them in and out of main event feuds.

The only way they can do a face turn right now is if it's a double turn between a face and a heel. If HBK and Nash were a heel team feuding with a face Jericho, that would work pretty well.

Well, I would have thought HHH meant that huge divide between Steph's implants seeing as how they were really big then like they are now, and that when we think of Steph, we think of disproportioned implants. Thanks for the correction though, but I still didn't think it was hilarious because of the focus put on HHH and Steph, with Jericho being overshadowed, of course.

Actually Steph said something to the effect of HHH being small in proportion down there....and then HHH responded with something like "Well, eveything would seem small when you're trying to land a helicoptor into the grand canyon.

I believe HHH's words were akin to 'Steph, even a Boeing 747 looks small when you fly it into the Grand Canyon!' - clearly referring to her bucket-like fadge. I found this hilarious, if somewhat childish...but then who watches wrestling for sophisticated humour?

Raven Effect, maybe it's the drink, but I didn't notice any of the workers you mentioned lose a significant part of their moveset upon turning face. Please feel free to quote some examples and make me look foolish.

And the example of the RVD/Jericho match is not a good one IMO. Y2J was still getting sizeable pops in that match, they were just outweighed by those of a red-hot RVD.

I think CJ's face turn is coming. After tonight, it didn't seem like overall. He did beat up Christian and the crowd was chanting Y2J. I would say he's a tweener right now. Given that he might as well have been a face tonight, but of course Austin is gonna get loved more no matter what. But then again, I'd be pissed too if I thought some guy was trying to cancel my show.
