HandofFate 0 Report post Posted September 10, 2003 From Prowrestling.com: According to some fans at RAW this past Monday night, Goldberg got into an altercation with some NWA-TNA fans while signing autographs. According to those in attendance for the scene, Goldberg got into a shouting match with some fans and seemed visibly angry. Goldberg was heard yelling negative comments about TNA, including a statement about their roster being WWE wash-ups. Yeah, I will get criticized to all hell for this, but I am a Goldberg mark. That's not good for business in any way to get into a shouting match with the fans especially when you are a face.

While he is for the most part entirely correct about some people, he shouldn't be talking as he may end up there sometime if Vince is still not convinced he could be huge again. Astro101 0 Report post Posted September 10, 2003 I dunno if TNA would even take Goldberg. He'd wipe them out with his contract.
Art Sandusky 0 Report post Posted September 10, 2003 The full story can be found in the WWE folder, and it shows the TNA fans started it by mercilessly heckling Goldberg while he was actually signing TNA flyers that some people had. It's not like he just went off on them because they were TNA fans.

Considering Goldberg is only in it for the money- I'm sure he could give a shit what kind of wrestling TNA puts on. GB has always had a negative view of TNA since they got Russo

Fökai 0 Report post Posted September 11, 2003 Here's the full story - The reader was around back, where the wrestlers come out, at Raw and there was a group of people handing out TNA flyers for tonight's one cent PPV on InDemand (which, as I said yesterday, is worth buying if you are considering doing so). Anyway, Goldberg came out and signed autographs for people, including signing said TNA flyers. This led to an interesting scene between Goldberg and a TNA fan. Here is the eyewitness report. "Here is where it got good. Goldberg had been signing autographs, acting like he didn't notice (the TNA fans), until he worked his way around to right under where they were standing. They started yelling at Goldberg, and Goldberg went off and started screaming at them about how TNA isn't s***, and it's full of nobodies and WWE rejects. They yelled back about how TNA is where the real talent is, and he wouldn't last a day there with his ability. Goldberg asked who they had that was better than him, and they responded with AJ Styles, Raven, Sting, and Jeff Jarrett, and Goldberg said he had already beaten them all, and they were all nobodies. One of them told him to come to TNA and tell Sting he's a nobody to his face. Goldberg was screaming and fuming mad. He said he could take out their whole roster, and one of them yelled back saying maybe in WCW bizzaro world he could take out an entire roster, but in real life he sucks! He looked like he was about to go up there. One of them told him he didn't have half the talent Raven had, and couldn't carry Jerry Lynn's jock. I don't know why security let this go on as long as it did, but they eventually told them to leave, and the Heel shirt guy flipped off Goldberg as they left." ... ... ... ...no wait, this is the real story - The reader was around back, where the wrestlers come out, at Raw and there was a group of people handing out TNA flyers for tonight's one cent PPV on InDemand (which, as I said yesterday, is worth buying if you are considering doing so). Guest OSIcon Report post Posted September 11, 2003 According to Meltzer on the Wrestling Classics board, the story is a fake. He says that he recieved the same story yesterday afternoon but noticed the email address was actually from a server in Japan (when the writer claimed he was from Huntsville). Due to that and the fact that it was "annonymous", he decided not to go ahead with the story. I tend to believe it was just made up. I really don't see Goldberg carrying that much or even knowing about TNA.

Just because people have worked for WWE and now work for TNA... does not mean they are WWE washups or rejects... It more or less does. It's not like WCW and WWF where if one guy left one place and went to another he wasn't a reject because the companies were equal. WWE is above TNA and people like D'Lo Brown, Raven, X-Pac, Jarrett, Douglas, Credible, Saturn, etc. ARE rejects. Whether they're better or not is not an issue. They have been rejected by McMahon and WWE and thus are rejects. The negative connotation usually comes from the fact that they're going from the top promotion to a lower one. Corey_Lazarus 0 Report post Posted September 11, 2003 Then I guess WWE is an AJ Styles reject... Sorry, felt like saying it. Anyways, even if the story is true, Goldberg lost his cool. Whatever. I'd lose my cool if I was signing autographs for people after I just worked, even signing stuff from a company I didn't work for, and some jackasses started saying I sucked. Hogan Made Wrestling 0 Report post Posted September 15, 2003 He is just jealous of a company that has WRESTLING. Yeah, because I mean, those Japanese feds that Goldberg worked for (and left voluntarily to go to the WWE) are just interviews and brawling... All two times? It's hard to judge by that large amount of working. The point being that if Goldberg wanted to, he could be working full-time in one of the major Japanese threads, which have both more and better wrestling than TNA does, so there's no fathomable reason for him to be "jealous" of them. This whole situation comes down to two things: 1. These fans are assholes who think repeating the whole ECW mutant behavior is going to "get them over". 2. Goldberg is the biggest mark in the entire business.
Guest The Real Nosferatu Report post Posted September 15, 2003 There's only one argument against Goldberg that really hurts him. His lack of respect for "da business" makes some fans resent him. Not to mention he nearly killed Bret Hart. (BASTARD~!) Who wouldn't love to see Goldberg take on Jushin Liger (or however he spells it this week) and nearly kill him with 3 concussions inside of 10 minutes.
