Kingdom Hearts: Final Mix (Spoiler)

Recommended Posts

Edited:

Because RPGamer's bandwith crapped out or something, the file I wanted you guys to see died out. So using my Kageho address, I have it accessable for download.

http://205.206.60.145/kageho/

Please just go down and click on the file KHFM - Secret Ending.wmv and that'll give you the extra ending on it.

Discuss.

Much thanks if you do buddy. Btw have you started your new EWR fed yet? It looks very promising.

Be started shortly (just setting up tourneys, divisions and feuds) and I should have the file accessable for download here shortly (or so the person tells me). Please be warned that the file is about 18MB so it'll be kinda large for dial-ups.

Look's damn good I must say. Still not as cool as the Cloud/ Sephiroth battle I saw a while back though. I've heard that Disney didn't want to be involved in a sequal but that may just be a rumour.

I could see them ditching the Disney characters and either just use Square characters or just coming up with a whole new cast for the game. If they keep it that badass looking and fix the camera angles a bit they have at least one copy sold already.

Thanks one again man.

Not a problem with helping you out. As it gets this out there.

Actually, I haven't seen the Cloud vs. Seph battle that was done for the Final Mix (WAH~!). But if someone gets me it, I'll be MORE than happy to link it.

Oh and didn't you see Mickey in that thing? He's clearly there for a few seconds (with a weapon, keyblade I think). Also if it's THAT badass, I'd pre-order the damned thing.

Also, who do you think was the guy who materalized out of the rock and who was sitting down? At first I thought it was Sora because it goes immediately to him battling the Heartless, and I assumed the person sitting down was Kairi. Yet, the person sitting down says that "he looks just like you" and now I'm thinking that the person that was sitting down was really Sora and the person who materalized through the rock was Riku, which would make the part where Sora threw Riku's keyblade to him and when they passed each other, Sora took a second look at him and kinda was like "what the...".

And yes, I read into things WAY too much.

I did see Mickey who did look so fine but I heard that Disney kinda scoffed at the direction that Square wanted to go in a proposed sequal. On Gamefaqs a while ago there was a huge dicussion about this clip with everybody from Ansem to Riku to Sora to Kairi to mister unknown as being a possible subject for the cloaked individual.

There also was rumors of Sora becoming the evil force in this game and Riku and Kairi fighting to bring him to the good side again but they might have just been watching to much Star Wars. The dynamic of this would be quite cool but this is where the troubles with Disney showed up having the hero from the first become a villian in the sequal. As long as they have some more J-popish music I'm all set :P .

Wish I could help you on the Cloud/Sephiroth clip but that was on my old computer but it should be on Kazaa. It's just a teaser clip but still was very cool.

You know, I just kinda thought of something about the way this commercial ends.

It ends with II coming before Kingdom Hearts.

I'm kinda thinking that when the sequel comes out, it'll be called II Kingdom Hearts, to play on words if you will.

Also it IS Riku under that coat who materializes out of that rock. Why do I know this? They do that seperate clip thing right before the II shows up that are all supposed to be him (I just wonder why the bandana around the eyes). Also I'm getting the vibe that the bad ass of this video game might've been what Disney was bulking on. I say bulking on, because WHY would you put in something so blatant for a sequel and NOT carry it through?

Oh and if you pay REAL close attention, you'll see that Sora's carrying three keyblades with him (one in his left, two in his right) when he fights before he tosses one to Riku. As when the two pass each other, Sora's still holding onto two keyblades.

Yet, another question arises. Where did that second keyblade come from that Sora has? I had originally assumed it was Riku's but the one in his left hand is totally different than the others. Perhaps the one I still have to get in the Colosseum? I'm not sure, but that new keyblade is kinda spiffy looking.

Another thing though, is that I think that I might've made a mistake. It isn't Sora who's sitting there, it's Kairi. And she's describing how Sora seems to look just like Riku perhaps. I really don't get that last part.

Also that last line I believe is Sora speaking it... I am wondering what he means by that though.

 I'm so obsessed with this game, aren't I? I don't know why, but that video just rocked me up for a video game. I guess because it leaves a lot to be answered.

And an idiot too as I missed this tidbit.

According to Japanese site Quiter, Kingdom Hearts 2 has indeed been confirmed to be in development by Square. No details are available so far, but RPGFan will keep you posted on all future developments.

Square officials have already hinted at the possibility of a sequel to their 2002 blockbuster title whose two versions have sold more than 1.2 million copies in Japan alone. Back then however, Square president and CEO Yoichi Wada noted, that a decision regarding a possible sequel had to be made by Disney, whereas his company was definitely interested in making a sequel.

In further Kingdom Hearts-related news, producer Shinji Hashimoto and director and character designer Tetsuya Nomura will receive the IGDA's Visual Art Award at the Game Developers Conference in San Jose, California.

I wonder if they'll still hold til the 2005 date.

If they do, then the secret ending is the only thing you see before the game comes out.

Probably. I wouldn't see why not.

I mean, anticipation is the best medicene for getting people to buy a game.

Kingodm Hearts, overrated.

Uh, how exactly? I was quite satisfied with what I got.

Considering it was made by Disney as well, I was expecting crap since that's what most of their games are.

And considering SquareEnix has been kinda slacking off (well, only the Square side, Enix really doesn't do too much NA side) and some of the games seem half assed.

I was quite happy that Kingdom Hearts was a good game.

1. Arc the Lad Collection - Obviously the best, they're all pretty old, but that was the first time they were released in the US, so I count it

2. Wild ARMs 3 - Just a great game, with tons of extra stuff to do at the end, the atmosphere is perfect.

3. Grandia XTREME - So the story wasn't the priority, but the music, and, obviously the genius battles make it worth it.

Kingdom Hearts would probably be fourth, Legaia 2 was actually pretty good, as well.

1. Wild Arms 3

2. Kingdom Hearts

3. Edit: (lost track of the year) Skies of Arcadia

Forgot about Arc the Lad actually. I absolutely hated Legaia 1 so haven't given the sequal a try yet.

I'd like to say it isn't overrated, but since some people actually consider it the best RPG of last year, it must be. As with most Square stuff, it gets more attention than it deserves.

What do you think was RPG of last year on a console? Personally, I thought for what Kingdom Hearts brought, it deserved to be considered... Compared to a lot of stuff.

Yes, I restrict it to console, because I don't think consoles games should be put into the same category as computer games, but that's a whole different beast.

Ok my top 5.

1) Arc The Lad: The Collection. Four games, a worthy story (that was if you kill of 3 and never consider Arc 4) and a lot of stuff to do. Although this finally got a US release date and technically should be thought of seperately, I thought it was the whole package. Comedy, funny stuff, sad parts, and just outrageous. It had a lot and then some.

2) Kingdom Hearts - This gets second place due to the fact that the menu system was awkward and detracted from the play. That and well, it really didn't do anything to answer a lot of questions.

3) Legaia 2 - Although it was pretty much bland on the story (as in, been there and done that) it was balanced out with it's fighting system (although, it got a little button mashy) and just overall achieved wellness.

4) Wild Arms 3 - gets fourth on my list of a top 5. It's a little drawn out (in my opinion) compared to 1 or 2, but the story definitely is better than 2. My only complaint is that lvling still is a pain in the arse as it never seems like you lvl up (as you are more dependant on getting your ARMs built up).

5) Tactics Orge: Knight Of Lodis - The beginning of the Tactics Orge series kicks off with a good start. Although, it's not as story heavy as many RPGs out there, it's still pretty darn good.

Honorable Mention: Mega Man Battle Network 2

AS for Grandia Xtreme being on someone's list at all is a shocker to me. Can you please tell me how this "genius battle system" is any better than say, Grandia 2? Since it was THAT just add a few details here and there. There was no difference. Music though, was good, but if you had to back trail to get eggs, it got repeditive fast.

Uh, Xtreme's battles ARE the same as Grandia 2, except for very few additions. Grandia 2 has a genius battles system, so so does Xtreme. Get it? And never be shocked by someone's opinion.

Arc the Lad 4 was released this year, too...it wasn't part of Collection. Its story is excellent, though. Arc 3 is sort of weird, but it's still good.

Yes, there is uniqueness in being able to cancel out someone's effects and stuff, but um... It's the same old same old from the first game with tidbits added. How is it genius if it's still the same thing? From the first game? I mean, there's not really much in the evolution of the system. It's just add tidbits here and there.

And with the eggs, it just makes everyone be like some Godly magic using fiend? Hm... Didn't people bitch about FF7 being like that? Yet, people like that? Uh... Ok then.

Oh and if you knew how to create the proper eggs early (I thought I fucked up until I tried using some Fairy Eggs and finding out otherwise), you could become Godlike after only two dungeons (three if you do the Water dungeon and get the Healing Eggs, and then difficulty is just GONE). That immediately killed any difficulty in the game.

+++

Secondly, I know that Arc 4 wasn't apart of the Collection. Did I EVER say it was? No. I said if you forget that 4 was apart of the story (as they are all connected in some fashion). 4 had a good story, yes. However, it felt like tidying up loose ends.

Spoiler (Highlight to Read):

I mean the Ancient Evil can suddenly assume human form? Excuse me? I mean, that didn't make too much sense. Sure, it was explained ... enough, but really was kinda just there as a pitiful excuse to me. And how the hell do Darc and Kharg suddenly become buddy-buddy even though they just fought their asses off at the Tower before the final dungeon? I mean, both of them wanted to kill the other just not that long ago. If it was built in a little better than they had to trust one another and not just "oh we must trust one another in the final dungeon" then I could probably have bought it.

I still think FF7 was a better game, I felt like I actually did something and achieved somethign while playing that game, other then the 70+ hours of my ass getting fatter.

And come on, they hada bad version of starfox in the game....raw's caw was better then kingdom hearts create a ship. The game just left me going, wow, look at all the pretty colors, and lack of the game feeling like anything special. There was hardly any FF involvemnt, wow 1 level. And even then, it was kinda to kiddieish for my taste.

I just found it to be really beautiful to look at, but that was about it.

That's ok with me. I consider FF4 a better game than Kingdom Hearts.

HOLD THE FLAMING~! It's because it was my true first RPG that I played through and was like "oh a fantasy game" with utter distaste. Hence why I like it a lot. It got me into Fantasy games.

Now then, comparing the create a ship to Raw's CAW is absurd to compare the two. One the ships just provide trasportation. Whereas the CAWs allow you to create a living wrestler (or a fantasy type). Besides, the CAWs are built to preform as a function that can be played in the entire game.

And you were expecting a lot of FF involvement? Geezus, please move on then. I was expecting a new game with FF and Disney cameos (beside the few that join you). I mean, FFs weren't included because the original concept of the game was supposed to have up to 30-40 worlds. This is why it became a series because there were too many worlds. Hence, we just haven't hit any FF worlds yet.

Yes, it was kiddish. But what do you expect when the main characters are kiddish themselves? Hm?

And of course it was draft. It's only the first part of a series (accidently one [as SquareEnix claims], or made that way, it's your decision on which to believe) and thusly it just builds up to something but leaves you wanting more. At least that's how I see these games.

It's why I'm into .hack. ...but I hate how I've gotta pay 200 bucks for a single game... In the end.

Sigh all you want, a battle system doesn't have to significantly change from game to game to still be good. G2's battles being the same doesn't take away from Xtreme.

I've never seen anyone bitch about materia than praise Grandia's egg system, so I don't know where that came from...I don't remember the game being easy, I didn't look at any egg combinations until after I beat it for the bonus dungeon. If you somehow figure out the right combinations on your own, you deserve to plow through the enemies.

And the way you worded it it sounded like you included 4 in the Collection, calm down. Everything with the Dark One or whatever it calls itself is very confusing, I doubt any of the planners even know how it's supposed to connect from game to game. The brothers don't become buddy-buddy either...they just accept each other.
