The One and Only Angel Season 5 Thread

Recommended Posts

Very interesting episode. That sort of stuff definitely gets me hyped for the rest of the arc.

And Andrew in next week's ep, I marked out hardcore for that.

Buffy soundclips! Name those episodes!

I don't remember what else she said, but the "Can you say jumping the gun? I kill my goldfish" line is from "The Prom."

1. I can't believe no one mentioned THE BEAR!!!!!!!!! That was some awesome.

2. Spike mocking the girl was awesome.

3. The dreams were awesome - everyone was just so happy. Fred operating on Angel was sooooo much fun. Lorne with a 'stache and Gunn with the panther eyes was really cool.

4. This episode was awesome. I'd put it "up there" in the best of the season. But I couldn't help but get a Star Trek feel from it... not a bad thing, mind you.

5. Fred didn't look as hot as she did in the last epy, though.

6. Gunn keeps stealing the fucking show - "ooh, let me hear"~!

7. Fuck, I hate watching on a different-channel-than-the-WB, I DIDN'T GET TO SEE ANDREW!!!

8. The Armageddon sequence and the following magical castle was great.

Whoa, Andrew grew his hair out...?

This night's ep was odd, but in a good way. Very fun stuff all around, there was much rawking to be done. Can't wait for next week's episode, though; hopefully we'll get more Andrew/Spike dialogue as that was one of the high points of Buffy Season Seven for me.

I love, love, these episodes.

The City Of references were golden. Eve was foxy. ANDREW AND CORDY. Life is good in Joss country.

Guess Andrew's been out helping find slayers...and, uh, dressing like a Hogwarts prefect.

Blahahah. That episode was excellent. So much good stuff throughout.

Lindsey as Doyle was fun, and Spike as Angel circa season 1 was full of awesome. The double stake, the overdramatic lines, the slo-mo...great stuff. And him telling off that girl he saved was priceless.

Angel's hallucinations were quite amusing as well. Gotta love Fred pulling all that crap outta his chest ("What do ya know, your heart really is a shrivelled up walnut"), and of course BEAR~!

I also loved the scene with Spike banging away at Buffy, and poor Angel talking about how they were supposed to go to the prom together. What the heck were the Buffy lines though?

I really liked the scene with Spike, Wes, and Gunn at Spike's new crib. The shots of Wes and Gunn were interesting...really made em out to be "not good", if you know what I mean.

Good point. They almost seemed to resemble Lindsey and Lilah from season 2.

Oh, and we need to see the bear again before the season's over.

Thank god I'm not the only one who thought he looked like a Hogwarts student.

Oh, and I see the comparison between Gunn and Wes and Lindsey and Lilah too. They looked pretty not-good in that scene with Spike and that first shot of them was perfectly done.

I wish they just kept him as a goofy nerd. I mean, I guess he had to "mature" and everything, and being a 'watcher junior' is interesting, but hopefully they kept his nerdy side.

Of course, the episode is co-written by DeKnight and Goddard, so it should rock.

Ugh, I went to my friends school last night, so I didn't get to watch Angel. I asked my Pops to record it for me, but OF COURSE he forgets to. So, I am downloading it from Buffy.nu right now, so I'll have my thoughts later.

Angel got a 2.4 this week, which is the lowest of the season. It didn't help from the fact that the OC got a 7.8, I believe, from the Idol lead in.

Well it took 4 hours to download the episode, but it was defiently worth it.

1. The first scene with Lindsay and Spike were gold. "My name is Doyle." I loved that so much. It reminded me of Angel season 1, but of course they did that on purpose.

2. Spike saving the girl, then telling her she was retard was gold.

3. All of the dream sequences were awesome. "Here you go bear." I was rolling on the floor after that comment.

4. Spike's new place looks just like Angel's place in season 1, once again they did that on purpose.

5. Gunn and Wes coming into Spike's apartment was a sweet scene. It didn't remind me of Lilah and Lindsay, but after other people said that it makes perfect sense.

6. We finally know what the tattoos mean. I wonder exactly what they say though; it must say something special.

7. I wonder if Spike will ever tell Angel and company about "Doyle" and what he is doing for Spike. You could OBVIOUSLY tell that "Doyle" isn't getting visions because he didn't seem in that much pain. Of course Spike doesn't know that, but still.

8. I love the new Gunn, nuff said.

9. Spike banging Buffy was great, too bad it wasn't SMG.

10. Joss probably said "Fuck WB, I am going to have a story arc" because story arcs are awesome. Eve saying to Angel that "Maybe you should worry about the people IN your circle" or something like that was great. Eve and Lindsay are playing the Holtz card, by trying to get to Angel through mind games and not killing him.

My guess is that their plan is to have Angel loose trust in everyone, and then have him turn on someone in his "circle." I loved the shot of Angel and everyone behind him, it was a great shot. I could see them framing someone else, and having Angel kill someone. My guesses are either Lorne or Fred, those are just guesses.

And David did a great job directing this episode. If his acting career suffers, I could see him becoming a director. In season 6, yes I am not saying their might be a season 6 BECAUSE THERE WILL BE, David should direct another episode.

This was my favorite episode of the season, and I am loving the story arc. Joss = THE MAN.

Off the current subject, but I got my tickets for this upcoming convention and I will be getting my picture taken with not only James Marsters and Tony Head, but the entire Troika as well. I guess I will get to experience Tom Lenk's hoss new hair firsthand. Awesomeness!

Yeah, I am little annoyed they just let Eve go. The writers aren't trying to make a Lilah clone, but someone who is like Lilah but a completly different character. So far, I like what they have done with Eve.

And we must see pictures Cavi!

Something that no one has really talked about is the scene after Spike saves everyone from the apocalypse. That scene really seemed to embody a lot of what areacode was talking about in the last page. Spike saves the world, then gets a reward, even though he says he didn't do it for a reward. The little fairy flutters in, he gets turned into a real boy, and poor Angel is left with the mail cart.

So Angel saves the world, and he gets a dead son and a crapload of problems with this crazy law firm. Spike saves the world and basically gets redeemed and gets Buffy. The scene with Spike in bed with Buffy sorta slammed that home, as Angel even talks about going to prom with her. Angel gives up Buffy for her own good, so what happens? Some other vampire with a soul ends up bagging her? Pretty unfair. Especially since Angel loved her first.

It's interesting thinking about the stuff that's happened to Angel, and how badly it's really turned out for him.

My whole thing about Angel's life is that he will never be fully happy. No matter what he does, saving the world tons of times, saving lives, and whatever; he'll never become human.

He is a true champion though.

What's happened with Eve? Gone as in written out or gone as in fired from the firm but staying around?

Well, I imagine she'll still be around w/ Lindsay scheming against Team Angel. It would be kinda stupid if she still worked for Angel, though, since Angel doesn't trust her. I imagine Gunn spoke (or will speak) with the Senior Partners on the subject.

Just got done watching it finally....just about everything that I would say has been said so I'll just simply say, Loved it! Great episode, David did a fantastic job directing and hope to see him do more in the future.

How will they do this storyline wise though?

With Eve inside Team Angel, she could finish the plan she and Lindsay have, whatever that is.
