WWE news from Keller

Got this from online it's Wade's News.

TOP STORY: Hey what's with all these guys being in movies. The Rundown starring the famous Rock opens in theaters nationwide next week. The filming of Nash's part in The Punisher should be done, meaning he could come back to TV anytime. And Triple H has just gotten two movie roles, one as a bad guy in the next Blade movie with Wesley Snipes, and one for the WWE Films division which may or not reprise his heavily praised role as The Disciplinarian.

TOP 5 STORIES OF THE WEEK:

#1 - Confidential bashes Billy Graham.

#2 - Jerry Lawler was pulled from the MLW War Games card by WWE, although Lawler has told a different version on radio shows. WWE announcers can work indies if they want, but with MLW getting TV clearance they'd prefer not to have their talent on other promotion's TV shows. Court Bauer of MLW told the Torch "I say thank you to Vince McMahon. You can't pay for this type of exposure." Yeah, buddy, you're on fire.

PS groups like MLW can use the "War Games" match and name because WCW never trademarked it, due to it being considered a common phrase. This may by why WWE has never bothered with it when they can do something like the Elimination Chamber that they'll own exclusively.

#3 - The buyrate for SummerSlam is up from recent shows, but pretty low for a SummerSlam. Estimates are around 375,000 - 425,000 buys, making it in the top 3 lowest of all time. Last year's did 520,000.

#4 - Raw's rating dropped against the first Monday Night Football.

#5 - WWE is waging their suit against the manufacturers of the harness that Owen was wearing, hoping to get back some of the $18 million they had to pay when the original judge excluded the manufacturer from having to pay anything. Or something. A later ruling overturned that and allowed WWE to proceed with this suit. WWE's position is that the company told it's UK staff to stop selling the harness for anything other than yachting, but did not do the same in the US where their stuff continued to be sold for stunt uses.

WWE NEWS:

- Injuries! Charlie Hass was knocked pretty loopy off a weird double backdrop type thing from the Guerreros, but he's okay. Shelton Benjamin hurt his knee in the match and had it scoped on Thursday, but there wasn't anything serious. Brock has floating cartilage in his knee but isn't expected to miss any time. Lance Storm landed awkwardly on his leg at Raw and it went numb and he had to leave the arena on crutches. No word on if it's anything serious. Referee Jack Doan had his shoulder dislocated by RVD. Billy Gunn had his oft-injured shoulder scoped and will miss a few weeks. Sylvian Grenier has been sitting out of house show matches due to some back and neck problems.

- There was a backstage bruhaha between Hurricane and Rodney Mack at a house show last Saturday. One wrestler described Hurricane as being "a complete and utter ass" on Friday, complaining to Arn Anderson that nobody listens to his ideas despite his status as a highly respected veteran, and he doesn't want anyone kicking out of his Shining Wizard move. Lots of wrestlers see Hurricane as being a big annoying complainer.

His complaining on this case came from the fact that he and Rosey were wrestling Rodney and Mark Henry at the house shows, and Hurricane and Rodney were going over their match. Rodney was just chillin', wanting to give ideas and hear Hurricane's ideas and then they could mix it all together, but Hurricane thought he was the veteran and that Rodney should defer to his plans and he shouldn't have to use any of Rodney's ideas. Hurricane also made it known that he didn't like that he and Rosey were doing the job, and he didn't think Rodney and Mizark had sold enough during their last match.

Before their match on Saturday, Rodney had tried to shake Hurricane's hand and Hurricane slapped it away. Arn and Michael Hayes stepped in before anything happened. During the match, Rodney got what he felt was a potato by Hurricane, and he'd heard the complaints that Hurricane didn't think they were selling enough and figured Hurricane was trying to make them sell. So after the match Rodney confronted him about the potato, and about Hurricane going around complaining about him, and was like "what's up, dawg."

According to friends of Hurricane, Rodney then gave him a cheap shot. According to everyone else, Hurricane told Rodney to "bring it on" and Rodney did. It was over quickly, Hurricane had no chance, and he got his head split open against a shelf or something that was nearby. They had to call for the trainer and he had to go get treated. The card lineups were changed for the next show so that they weren't wrestling each other anymore.

- There's definite talk of having Coach and Al Snow win their match on the PPV, making them the Raw announce team. But it would only be an angle until JR and Lawler get the spot back, not a permanent replacement.

- Paul London was called up from OVW to work some house shows this past weekend. Early talk was that London would be put on Raw, because even though he'd be a strong addition to the cruiserweight division on Smackdown, they'd like to get some exciting workers on the Raw side. But that was said to be reconsidered even before London did the house shows, and he ended up working on the Smackdown side. He's getting good reviews from officials because he really likes the storytelling and acting aspects of wrestling, as opposed to the indy guys who just want to do spot after spot with no meaning to them.

- Chris Jericho said on the Orlando Jones Show that he plans to name his son "Ash" after the Evil Dead guy. It's assumed he was kidding. Jericho's wife is due sometime soon.

- Crash Holly has been badmouthing Mick Foley on a lot of internet and radio shows lately, saying it kills Foley that Crash got the hardcore title over through comedy and didn't have to fall off cages and land on thumbtacks.

- Ryan Sakoda and Chris Mordetzky from UPW have gotten development contracts.

- Kurt Angle said in a speech he did at a college that the plan is for him to team with John Cena over the next 6 months or so, but didn't elaborate on it. Angle/Cena was being advertised in local spots for No Mercy.

- The word going around about the TNA offers is that James Mitchell makes too much money at his regular job to go on the road with WWE. A while back Mitchell wrote a Torch article about his job as a karaoke host and how he charges $500 an hour or something insane. Doing TNA only takes one evening, but to be on the road with WWE would require them to sign him to a far heftier deal than they offer most new signees. There's different stories around saying that WWE offered him their standard deal and he explained that he'd need more money, or that they were told he'd be asking for more money and didn't offer him a deal at all. Either way, it doesn't look like they signed him.

There was some last minute interest in Trinity, but WWE learned that she'd signed with TNA some time ago and that ended things. Simon and Swinger say they were contacted, but were told that Vince doesn't like negotiating under deadlines, so they had to delay signing their TNA deals if they wanted to negotiate with WWE. They told the TNA locker room that they signed the TNA deals.

TNA NEWZ:

- Raven and James Mitchell got into it after this past week's show, where Raven was shaved bald at the end. Watching it, you could see that Raven was bleeding, and he actually got cut several times from the sheep shears that were being used. Mitchell said he had never used those shears before and was nervous about screwing up and not cutting anything, and that he had no idea he was hurting Raven.

Raven was livid backstage and Mitchell apologized immediately, but Raven took a swing at him. People say Raven ended up pulling the punch at the last second, realizing that he wasn't making a good decision, but he still connected with it. Later on Mitchell tried to apologize to him again, and Raven rubbed his hand across his bloody head and pie-faced him. The latest word was that they've since made up.

- Shane Douglas threw up during his match. He said he swallowed some of his own blood, but the widely believed version is that he's just out of shape, probably had too many liquids before the match, and got all blown up.

- It sounds like most of the wrestlers who were offered contracts signed them. There were some who wanted guaranteed dates and some compromises were worked out. Others wanted creative control in how they're used outside of TNA, meaning they didn't want groups like ROH or MLW to book them and be forced to use them in relation to their TNA booking. For example, CM Punk is a Raven ally in TNA, but elsewhere they're feuding with each other.

CLASSIC TORCH:

- Rick Rude beat Ric Flair for the world title at Fall Brawl. Or the international title, I guess. That year's War Games got a rating of only one star. Bruce: "This match was about as flat as a bag of day old Cheetos in Dusty Rhodes's pantry. It was just a colossal waste of time."

- Shawn Michaels looked to be out of the WWF, but no details were known. Matt Bourne was given a 6-week drug suspension and others filled in as Doink. Eric Bischoff began his reign of being moody and unapproachable as WCW's boss.

ON TOPIC WITH JASON POWELL:

WWE should pay more attention to history, am I right.

THIS WEEK WITH WADE KELLER:

Confidential used clever and sneaky editing on the Billy Graham story. When they put on clips of Donahue and cut back to Graham saying he was a liar and he'd take back what he said if he could, was he talking about the comments made on Donahue? I don't know!

THE MCNEILL FACTOR:

Apparently Court Bauer of MLW is a liar and a fag. Pat elaborates but who really cares.

RAVEN:

It's all about ECW. He and Paul E. were close, but he doesn't think Heyman would return any of his calls today. He wishes he hadn't put over Dreamer before he went to WCW.

END NOTES WITH WADE:

Did TNA's one-cent PPV work? They seem to be encouraged from info they've got from cable companies, but not many Torch readers seemed to be excited enough from the show to spend $10 every week for it. But even if it doesn't lead to hundreds of new viewers, at least they turned a negative (no live show) into a positive by getting the word out with this show.

1) Well, I see that Shane Helms is well on his way to becoming a huge main event player by having HHH as his personal role model.

2) Go Mack, kick his ass! If Helms is really acting like a shit, then he deserves to be treated like one.

Before people start discussing what is said about the Hurricane, let me start off by stating that it isn't inconceivable that Wade has something against him, as Helms busted the Torch's nuts for saying he was close to Brian Gewirtz some months back.

So I'd take what's written that hasn't already been said with a grain of salt.

Yeah I'm sure Foley is reeling in agony with his Multimillion dollar life and mainstream name value while CRASH plays in a fucking bingo hall called MAD MIKEY in the WWE REJECT FARM.

Oh please. We all know this story isn't fake. Hurricane is one of the smark-darlings, so it's INCONCEIVABLE that the guy can ever be an asshole. We know he's had a bad temper in the past, so this story is entirely plausible. If the roles were switched, and Mack was the asshole, people would be assuming it was 100% fact and calling for his firing. But since Hurricane did it, everyone likes to be in denial. The guy was an asshole, and got what was coming to him. Hopefully, this will shut his mouth and show him that he's not nearly as tough as he likes to act.

Wrestlers are such whiny bitches, they seriously need to grow up. They feel like they've got to act the big man when something doesn't go their way, so as not to 'lose face'. It's pathetic. If the stuff about Hurricane is true, he's a dick. Simple as that. Also I'm surprised at Raven, there was no need to go off at Mitchell like that. Its a physical business, a contact sport. Obviously there are going to be occasions where miscommunications and accidents occur. Mitchell obviously didn't intend to cut Raven. Raven should've taken it like a pro and not behaved like a spoilt bitch. He's a veteran, you'd think he'd behave like it.

This story is so fake.

This isn't copied and pasted from the Torch itself, but paraphrased. The original story didn't include the silly sayings and jokes sprinkled throughout, the person who posted it added those in. Clever stuff in there, am i rite?

Shane might be nice to fans, that doesn't excuse him from being a dick to his fellow co-workers.

He got just what he deserved, a Hurra-ass whooping!

1. Can someone explain the Graham bashing to me?

2. Wait a minute...you mean JR is going to WRESTLE at the next PPV?????

3. Of all the people Crash could have shot on...he chose Mick FUCKING Foley?

4. Are we talking an Angle/Cena *feud* or *team*? Because I thought Angle was a face now. I'd love to see an Angle/Cena team, even if only for the comedy.

Alfdogg, regarding Angle/Cena, kind of both.

Ads for No Mercy advertise a match between the two, and Angle said at a recent appearance that he may team with Cena "within the next six months".

Oh, and Keller should not attempt to type dialogue like that ever, EVER again.

I don't like Hurricane either, but Wade and Helms have had their share of Fuck Yous to one another, so I'm not going to take a Wade report on Helms seriously.

I'd believe 1Crapshit before Wade on Helms news at this point.

I actually buy this (but not the Ebonics).

Think about it:

Rodney Mack is still a rookie, the Tiger Bomb incident is still in people's minds. If he fucks up, he's likely gone. Why would HE start a fight?

Oh, I don't doubt the Hurricane started the fight or anything, but the way that the story is portrayed makes it sound so fake.

As much as I despise Rodney Mack, and while I have no idea of the validity of Keller's story, I can confidently say that if Mack and Helms got into a scrap, Mack would beat the shit out of him. There are no "hurri-powers" in real life... biotch.
