(9) Eddie Guerrero defeated John Cena to retain the WWE United States Title. Pre-match Cena cuts a great anti-Binghamton promo calling all the women trailer trash and telling us to kiss his a$$ ( didn't bother me, I don't live there...thank god!). Match seemed a bit rushed after Guerrero missed a frog splash and seemed to injure his elbow...must have been legit as the trainer came out almost immediately. They wrapped up quick due to the injury with Guerrero smacking Cena with the U.S. title and getting the win. Post-match, Eddie and the trainer walked back to the locker room with Guerrero holding his arm very low at his side.

Why would WWE run a house show opposite of their own PPV? Or was this from Saturday night?

Lately WWE logic would be to run a house show on the PPV night.

That's actually kinda cool. If I had the money, i think it would be fun to hit up a house show before going home to see a PPV

It's no against the PPV. It's just on the same day as it. It's earlier in the day. People can still watch both.

I'm talking about on Monday nights, when they put on a Smackdown house show. That has never made sense to me.

Makes sense to me. The WWE is going to make a lot more money off a house show than off 1000 people watching Raw. They make that weeks advertising money anyway.

 

If the House show is really good, the people in attendance would be more likely to watch Raw next week, and you build a dedicated audience. (In theory, ignoring the fact that Raw is usually less than thrilling.) Running opposite a PPV however, would be bad business because people would be paying $35 to watch that and this way you're getting BOTH buys (again in theory).

 

So this way actually makes a lot of sense. Run house shows (which individual people pay for) against TV (which they don't) but not against PPV (which they do.)

Is it a rule that both Chavo and Eddie can't be together for more than two months before one gets injured? Sure seems that way.
