AndrewTS Posted September 24, 2003 Report Posted September 24, 2003 So Taker, who has star power and also is a strong ratings draw, shouldn't get to face Lesnar for an unsuccessful title defense so Eddy can be built up in the meantime to challenge for the title in one of the major PPVs of the year? That's pointless bitching. Taker's been great lately, and his match with Angle was good and drew strong ratings. My only complaint is the lousy impending McMahon bullshit.
Guest Choken One Posted September 24, 2003 Report Posted September 24, 2003 I've been Pimping for a Eddy/TBS series anyways just for the comical Possibilities... The match would be creative as FUCK as well... The sell would be "How can Eddy cheat against that monster?"
Guest Fook Posted September 24, 2003 Report Posted September 24, 2003 Stephanie McMahon vs. Vince McMahon in an "I Quit" match. Please, no more.... Haven't we suffered enough?
Guest hhheld_down Posted September 24, 2003 Report Posted September 24, 2003 seems like forever since the last mcmahon free ppv.... steph/vince sucks but at least it keeps them in one match and not in two seperate matches... thats the only thing i dont like.. and the possible big show/eddie match at NM... that will suck

Who says Undertaker will be unsuccessful? Who says Eddy will get a shot at Survivor Series? It was rumored that he would get a title shot vs. Angle at Survivor Series a couple of months ago. It isn't a fact that he will now? Even if he does it will just be the Cena 1 month push again then back to midcard he goes. Everyone knows he has no fucking chance of winning the belt. The only people that will win it are Undertaker, Angle, Big Show, and Lesnar.
Guest Choken One Posted September 24, 2003 Report Posted September 24, 2003 What? Eddy/TBS will NOT suck because TBS is in his Flair 1989 run right now and Eddy is midas and that match has SO much to work with... Eddy is going to have LOTSA fun with this feud...
ANKLELOCK Posted September 24, 2003 Report Posted September 24, 2003 TWO Eddy matches?? Tajiri vs Rey?? Angle-Cena feud finally begins?? Sounds like a winner.
Guest Choken One Posted September 24, 2003 Report Posted September 24, 2003 When was the Last time someone we liked did double duty... I dig Eddy defending both titles...as it's likely going to be the obvious reasoning for the Guerrero Family Fued... I continue to push for my Guerrero Family Survivor Series ala Harts 1993 EDDY-CHAVO-HECTOR-MONDO! Vs Cena and 3 wigger jobbers.
BoboBrazil Posted September 24, 2003 Report Posted September 24, 2003 I bet it is Chavo vs Eddy at Survivor Series.
Guest Boo_Bradley Posted September 24, 2003 Report Posted September 24, 2003 *Awaits Anglesault's rant*
Guest Choken One Posted September 24, 2003 Report Posted September 24, 2003 Wasn't Keith Hart like 50 at SS93?
Guest Choken One Posted September 24, 2003 Report Posted September 24, 2003 I bet it is Chavo vs Eddy at Survivor Series. With a Near Hometown crowd...That would be INSANE.
Lord of The Curry Posted September 24, 2003 Report Posted September 24, 2003 Steph vs Vince? Seems like they're determined to shit No Mercy up just like Shane shit up Unforgiven.
Guest Choken One Posted September 24, 2003 Report Posted September 24, 2003 Shane shited Unforgiven up? It was already "SID"ed without him...
jester Posted September 24, 2003 Report Posted September 24, 2003 How about this... who was the last person to kick out of a pedigree? I think Nash did it last.
Guest Smell the ratings!!! Posted September 24, 2003 Report Posted September 24, 2003 Stephanie McMahon vs. Vince McMahon in an "I Quit" match. i think that about sums it up. No, wait, SMELL THE INCEST, ok we're good.
ISportsFan Posted September 24, 2003 Report Posted September 24, 2003 So what's No Mercy looking like? Brock v. UT (***ish if they both have working boots on) Vince v. Steph (I quit, -**** if they both have working boots on) Eddy v. Big Show (** if we're lucky) Angle v. Cena (***1/2 if we get something like their first meeting many moons ago but longer) Benoit v. A-Train (God bless this, if Benoit gets Albert on PPV I'm gonna punch my TV) Maybe Guerreros in a tag defense Probably a Rey Mysterio match and a Tajiri title defense. So, it looks sucktacular compared to what it could be, of course. And don't say I'm just being a smark who is whining, Albert should never face Benoit on PPV. Ever. And Vince and Steph need to get a room if they want to roll around together. Jason
Guest Choken One Posted September 24, 2003 Report Posted September 24, 2003 That card would actually be the best card on Paper after Mania... WCW had Benoit wrestle MIKE ENOS! in a curtain jerk match after having a high profile angle...A-Train isn't that bad compared to that shit...
Fökai Posted September 24, 2003 Report Posted September 24, 2003 Steph vs Vince? Seems like they're determined to shit No Mercy up just like Shane shit up Unforgiven. Then again, it had an adverse effect on Vengeance, which turned out to be the best PPV of the year...with TWO McMahons in TWO different matches.
ISportsFan Posted September 24, 2003 Report Posted September 24, 2003 That card would actually be the best card on Paper after Mania... WCW had Benoit wrestle MIKE ENOS! in a curtain jerk match after having a high profile angle...A-Train isn't that bad compared to that shit... B.S. Vengeance had 3 potential awesome matches. This potential card I just listed has Angle/Cena, and depending on Rey/Eddy/Tajiri/tag titles there could be one or 2 more. Angle/Cena will not be as good as any of the three top matches at Vengeance, the tag title match (if there is one) will not be as good as WGTT/Rey-Kidman, and Tajiri defending won't get enough time. Will NOT be as good as Vengeance, probably not as good as WrestleMania. Since I like wrestling though, I hope I'm wrong. And on your second point, at least Enos is carryable to a good to great match. Albert sucks. Jason
Markme123 Posted September 24, 2003 Report Posted September 24, 2003 OHSHUTTHEFUCKUP!! Jesus, this isn't as bad as you guys are making it out to be. I can guarantee that Eddie vs Big Show will be good/entertaining. Eddie is on fire and Big Show has been trying his hardest the last few months. Plus both have been apart of some creative matches over the last couples months, so we have that to look forward to. AND we know Eddie is going to come out winning in the end. Vince vs Steph won't have a "-****" match. Especially on PPV. They both try hard and usually have fun matches (especially Vince). Their match could range from 1-3 stars. Brock vs Taker could be cool if Brock learns to sell Taker's MMA stuff. Angle vs Cena could be good if Cena tries as hard as he did at Vengence, and the Cruiserweight match will be good or great, depending on the time given. A-Train isn't a *BAD* wrestler, he's just average. I kind of liked the Benoit/Train matches from Smackdown and know if they have one at No Mercy, it won't suck. Expect a decent match. Plus adding Chavo vs Hass or something like that wouldn't hurt the card. If the show does shape up like this, it could be as good or better (overall) than Vengence. Lighten up...

Will Albert/Benoit be good? Maybe. Great? Absolutely not. Will Big Show/Eddy be good? Maybe, actually probably. Great? Absolutely not. Will Vince/Steph be good? Absolutely not. I don't get where you think they'll somehow make this watchable, but there is no chance on this earth. Whenever Steph and Vince have PPV matches that are even watchable they are with main eventers or top-level women wrestlers, respectively, and are overbooked like crazy. One of those equations will be in full effect, since the overbooking machine will be on fire. But, since I can almost guarantee that somehow we will be expected to believe that Steph can somehow hang in there with Vince for what will likely be 10 minutes of pure crap is ridiculous. Angle/Cena will definitely be good. But it won't be great. Brock/UT will probably be good. Won't be great. The rest (save maybe the tag title match) won't be given enough time to warrant anything. Thus, this card will not be better than Vengeance. It will be better than Bad Blood and Unforgiven. But I could take 20 guys from my neighborhood and make a better show than Unforgiven (sarcasm, don't rip my head off for that). The card as I presented it (if that's how it goes down, remember we're not totally sure past the top 2 and Angle/Cena's almost definite too) will be AVERAGE. Thumbs in the middle. 5/10. Jason

Guest Nanks Posted September 24, 2003 Report Posted September 24, 2003 Vince McMahon v Stephanie McMahon - I Quit Prediction - Audience will quit The mind boggles at what this family thinks people will be entertained by. Having a storyline like this is all well and good, but it would work so much better if they each elected 'champions', if you will, and simply took the corners of the worker representing their interests None of the Benoit v A-Train matches thus far have been unwatchable. Given a well built up story, why shouldn't their PPV blow-off match be decent?? The A-Train hate is a little much in this case. I know we all want to see Benoit in the ME, but it's just not happening right now, and this is not the worst thing they could possibly do with him. Everything else on that card looks good to me. Angle v Cena will most likely have a good/great story built around it and the match will almost certainly be good. Brock v Taker probably isn't ideal, but their last encounter was thoroughly entertaining IMO and when Taker really has a go he's just fine, particularly against athletic guys his size. All those potential options with Eddie look just fine. They couldn't have Eddie go down with the way his heat is right now, and going on the fact he is wearing two straps right now it sure looks like he's being pushed, so having Eddie go through the monster who's been hanging with the MEs lately is a great thing
nl5xsk1 Posted September 24, 2003 Report Posted September 24, 2003 "Big Show defeated Arch Kincaid & John Walters in a handicap match. Show then joined Tazz and Michael Cole to provide commentary." Does anyone know anything about Arch Kincaid? Has he appeared on any Smackdown shows before?
Guest Goodear Posted September 24, 2003 Report Posted September 24, 2003 One of the things people seem to be overlooking is the possibility of a Haas/Chavo match on PPV. Considering the histories and the likely possibility that Eddie will be facing SHow on PPV, that would be a great option for both guys to develop a singles groove while their partners are busy/injured. Color me stoked.
Guest Choken One Posted September 24, 2003 Report Posted September 24, 2003 I actually wouldn't be shocked to see Eddy do DOUBLE DUTY on PPV...it'll REALLY sell him and since WWE is rumored to do a Guerrero Fued...It's an EASY way to do it...Going about the Owen/Bret route...
Guest Goodear Posted September 24, 2003 Report Posted September 24, 2003 I just don't see the Guerrero feud taking off since Chavo seems to have issues bringing the singles personality at times. Especially while Eddie seems to be groomed for main event type feuds... I really do think Chavo would be better suited to playing sidekick for a while before simply splitting the Guerreros up without having a feud. Of course, when was the last time that happened?
