JHawk 0 Report post Posted September 26, 2003 SmackDown from JHawk's Beak (9/25/2003) uh...yeah...
Guest Goodear Report post Posted September 26, 2003 I think when you get to the point where one segment that lasts 10 minutes or so is ruining the program for you, its time to not watch those segments anymore. I'd much prefer a review that goes... Vince comes out CLICK Rather than bashing a show that had Guerros/Hardy & Moore, Eddie vs Haas, and Rey versus Tajiri just because you don't like the McMahons... it seems sort of kablooey. Guest JacK Report post Posted September 26, 2003 Wow . . . it was THAT bad . . . it ruins the show in like ten minutes . . . I better not watch that bit.

Well, unfortunately, I can't just click off the TV, as it's my job to sit through and report on that garbage. But since the quarter hour ratings apparently show that the McMahons draw they think we're willing to swallow that garbage (even though the only time I ever paid to see Vince McMahon wrestle was the cage match with Austin). Heaven forbid I actually want to purchase their PPVs and want to see a good show. Heaven forbid that they put on a main event that I give a shit about to make me want to order the PPV. Meanwhile, is Ultimo Dragon still with the company?

Meanwhile, is Ultimo Dragon still with the company? I doubt it's a coincidence that the McMahons are on the first and last segments every week. Seeing as how those are the "must see" (in my words) segments, as in the first one sets up the show for the night, and the last one concludes it - so people want to watch to see what happens. Thus it appears that the McMahons draw. I agree with you, had I had to watch that last segment I would have been quite pissed off. Sucks to be you for having to watch Vince play out the beginnings of his fantasy of rolling around sweaty with his daughter. That match alone is stopping me from ordering the ppv. Papacita 0 Report post Posted September 26, 2003 Cole bitches that Lesnar cheated to win last week, and yet he was just praising Eddy Guerrero about four minutes ago for the same thing. That made me laugh. Great read, as usual. I agree, the last segment was terrible, but overall it was a good show. I had planned to order No Mercy since I intentionally missed out on Vengeance and that ended up being one of the better PPVs of the year so I dunno...Taker and Brock should be ok, as will Angle and Cena...we could get another great Rey/Tajiri match...so far the card is shaping up ok, so as long as the McMahon shit is kept to a minimum (which it will hopefully) I really don't see it being that much of a problem. I can't understand what makes him think that people are willing to pay money to see he and his daughter wrestle.
Guest Dids Report post Posted September 26, 2003 I turned it off right after Steph entered the ring (and btw- she needs to wear more clothes- that outfit wasn't doing her any favors) and I thought it was a pretty good show.
Jobber of the Week 0 Report post Posted September 26, 2003 I don't understand. In this article, you're supposed to grade Smackdown. A promo is a promo. It could be a good promo, or a bad promo. Chances are with the McMahons taking up that much of the mic time it wasn't any kind of awesome promo, but that's besides the point. Just because you don't like the booking of a show that's not what your reviewing doesn't really seem like proper justification to shit on this show. Granted, it may indeed have been a very crappy program (I missed it, I have to struggle to care about wrestling around SurSer time) but you yourself say it's all about the final segment, and what it means in regards to the PPV. Crimson Platypus 0 Report post Posted September 26, 2003 Did you read the article? He gave almost all of the other segments good reviews heading into the final McMahonfest at the end. What I got out of that is that that final segment egofuck left a bad taste in his mouth, ruining the overall good feel of what (I thought) was an above average show. Jobber of the Week 0 Report post Posted September 26, 2003 He said that the booking of the PPV weeks away ruined the show he was watching right now: You found a way to have one awful segment in a two hour program and make me hate the entire fucking show as a result. Way to fucking go! This is now five (or six) straight PPVs where non-wrestlers are competing on a show that you not only want me to pay for but expect me to pay for, and on top of that, you're giving a match based off an angle that everybody with half a goddamned brain told you to kill six fucking months ago. haVoc 0 Report post Posted September 26, 2003 Ultimo Dragon should try to get out. He said his dream was to wrestle at MSG and he did a few weekends ago. I can't imagine Ultimo is hard up for money so he should get out now before his Japan legacy is ruined.
Guest Goodear Report post Posted September 26, 2003 His legacy won't be ruined by not being on television dude. Most likely people will just forget he ever worked for Vince and that will be that. It's not like he is getting beaten up by Stephanie every week or something.

I turned the TV off as soon as they announced McMahonMania was NEXT~!
haVoc 0 Report post Posted September 26, 2003 Speaking of MSG..... After all the anticipation, it took roughly 5 minutes this morning for WWE WrestleMania XX tickets to be completely sold out. The special ticket pre-sale started this morning at 9AM ET and all tickets were gone by roughly 9:05AM ET. Tickets to the general public were to go on sale tomorrow. WWE may open up more seats in the future, but that is far from confirmed. Credit: 1wrestling.com/
