Tony149 Posted October 16, 2003 Report Posted October 16, 2003 Baker is finally taking out Wood. What a moral boast it must be for Florida to survive against Prior & Wood, two pitchers who were supposed to be untouchable.
Mik Posted October 16, 2003 Report Posted October 16, 2003 I didn't even see anyone warming up. Who is coming in?
Downhome Posted October 16, 2003 Report Posted October 16, 2003 Bambino vs. Billy Goat, 2003 World Series. They'd have so much fun with the promos for that series. Yeah...I'm sure they been to a millon farms...hired John Goodman and all that shit You know it.
Bruiser Chong Posted October 16, 2003 Report Posted October 16, 2003 If the Marlins win here and the Yanks actually win tomorrow, I won't be able to stomach the WS. I know I said I'd rather have the Yanks win if the Marlins win here, but I take it back.
Guest Choken One Posted October 16, 2003 Report Posted October 16, 2003 Farnsworth...Great. So much for the world series.
Mik Posted October 16, 2003 Report Posted October 16, 2003 HAHAHAHAHAHA Farnsworth boots it. Forget Bartman, Farnsworth is getting murdered.
Guest Choken One Posted October 16, 2003 Report Posted October 16, 2003 Yep...Dusty Baker. Worlds greatest manager.
Bruiser Chong Posted October 16, 2003 Report Posted October 16, 2003 That's it. I can't watch anymore. I'm a hardcore Cubs fan, but that play just summed it all up and I really just can't bear to watch another pitch.
Guest Putty Posted October 16, 2003 Report Posted October 16, 2003 If the Marlins win here and the Yanks actually win tomorrow, I won't be able to stomach the WS. I know I said I'd rather have the Yanks win if the Marlins win here, but I take it back. I wouldn't watch.
Downhome Posted October 16, 2003 Report Posted October 16, 2003 What a catch by Farnsworth! Play of the game, wow, way to go.
Guest Choken One Posted October 16, 2003 Report Posted October 16, 2003 However...At this rate cubs should just wait until the 9th to "comeback"...you DONT want the lead...each team proven this.
Guest Choken One Posted October 16, 2003 Report Posted October 16, 2003 shocked a 6'5 big man couldn't catch a little white ball at his face...
MarvinisaLunatic Posted October 16, 2003 Report Posted October 16, 2003 I wanna be the first to tell the Cubs fans : Wait til next year! meanwhile, I-Rod strikes out..
sfaJack Posted October 16, 2003 Report Posted October 16, 2003 Why Farnsworth? The Marlins have been ripping him all series. Everybody has gotten good swings off of him.
A Happy Medium Posted October 16, 2003 Report Posted October 16, 2003 Bah..the Cubs need a long reliever. 7-5..
Guest Choken One Posted October 16, 2003 Report Posted October 16, 2003 Why the FUCK wasn't Clement pitching? You need him for two innings, he won't pitch until Sunday anyways...
Guest Choken One Posted October 16, 2003 Report Posted October 16, 2003 I have a feeling one way or another this thread will hit 100 pages tonight easy
MarvinisaLunatic Posted October 16, 2003 Report Posted October 16, 2003 I think this has proven that Dusty Baker can take just about any team to the playoffs but he can't manage the team when he gets there and gets outmanaged, flat out outsmarted by the other managers, esp. when it comes to pitching moves. The Cubs should fire Baker and hire Mike Hargrove.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted October 16, 2003 Report Posted October 16, 2003 I have a feeling one way or another this thread will hit 100 pages tonight easy uh..well not for me with 40 messages per page..right now its at 61.
Mik Posted October 16, 2003 Report Posted October 16, 2003 I don't know how fair that is. How many managers have taken two separate teams to the world series in consecutive years? That's what Dusty would be doing if the Cubs turn it around.
Guest Choken One Posted October 16, 2003 Report Posted October 16, 2003 it's 82 and if chi town wins...its all joyness celebration and if florida wins its all FUCK THE YANKEES crap...that fills up quick
Mik Posted October 16, 2003 Report Posted October 16, 2003 So, let's talk MVPs... If the Marlins win I have to go with Beckett or Cabrera. Cubs...Sosa or Gonzalez
MarvinisaLunatic Posted October 16, 2003 Report Posted October 16, 2003 Hargrove? Eh, Why not. Hes a really good manager if he has players that can play. Although he's the anti dusty baker in terms of dealing with pitchers. He seemed to take pitchers out too soon..I don't know which is worse.
