Guest JumpinJackFlash Report post Posted October 1, 2003 Its only number 2 because they are a little sick of the overexposure. They just love to hate it. Its not like its the worst, but its very popular, so people hate it. Its like the time when St. Anger came out, and people called into the radio station and said not to play that song. They were expecting something better from Metallica. I'm confused now.
Corey_Lazarus 0 Report post Posted October 1, 2003 It's because "St. Anger" isn't a Metallica song. It's Metallica covering Korn.
Guest TheZsaszHorsemen Report post Posted October 2, 2003 Or maybe they watched the WWE in 2002... I wisely avoided most of that year. But you watch now that it got even worse?
SamoaRowe 0 Report post Posted October 2, 2003 I think overall wrestling is better now than it was throughout most of 2002. I loved Smackdown from Sept. to November of 2002, but the rest of the year was really lackluster with little signs of hope. This year has had a lot of steps in the right direction, small as they may be.

From the time The Rock returned till he lost to Brock at SS the shows got REALLY good. SmackDown improved till Survivor Series. Though the booking seems to be improving now, the wrestling quality was much better last year.
Guest Sakura Report post Posted October 2, 2003 Looks like Vince can't have it both ways like he wants. He seems to want to be "edgy" and "controversial" yet also be accepted. Poor Vince. And rasslin IS big sweaty steroid freaks pretending to punch each other. It deserves to be seen as silly.

However, let's not forget that 2002 also featured a Hulk Hogan/Triple H main event at Backlash, followed up by a Hulk Hoga/Undertaker match at Judgement Day. There have been some awful PPVs this year, but they have been fun to ridicule at the same time. I can still remember laughing my ass off when I realized the WWE was really going ahead with the planned Judgement Day card earlier this year. I guess I just find myself being less frustrated with the weekley product this year. It might just be because I was finding myself unsettled by all the change in 2002 (the roster split, the elimination of most of the titles, the change from WWF to WWE). At least things have been consistent this year.
Guest Deviant Report post Posted October 2, 2003 People need to understand wrestling before they criticize it, but none of these assholes do so I want them to go away. Replace "wrestling" with absolutely anything and welcome to the world and the way it operates! As a general rule, due to the fact that I don't give a damn what anyone else thinks, I don't care what any poll says. Advertisers, McMahons and whoever else can pay attention due to the relevance to them, but I don't need to care, so I don't. I like wrestling, therefore I watch wrestling. Randomly surveyed people don't like wrestling and have the same stereotype in their head that has been drilled into the mainstream, good for them, just don't be annoying me when I'm trying to watch it or go on a PTC-sabotage mission and I'll be fine with it. I like wrestling, I watch it. They don't like it, they don't watch it. I'm comfortable with that. Meanwhile I'm downloading Jeff Hardy's ROH appearance. In 8 minutes, I will be watching that and enjoying every second. I don't care what some stupid survey says. It doesn't affect me in any way.

JMFabiano524 0 Report post Posted October 3, 2003 Well if it's mostly directed towards WWE, I have little anger and/or sympathy. They've gone down so bad, and are such a letdownto longtime fans now, that I just think they deserve whatever's coming to them.
