Guest Username Posted October 1, 2003 Report Posted October 1, 2003 it's a shame that Ultimo Dragon isn't recieving a big push...but anyways, i ALWAYS miss Velocity. i'm never home on a saturday nights and i always tell myself i'm gonna set my vcr timer on and record it but i never actually remember to do so. for those of you who watch Velocity or tape it, how are Ultimo's matches? that's the only reason i wanna see the show. since Ultimo's been in the WWE, the only match i've seen was his debut match with shannon moore. it was a pretty short and fast paced match but still pretty good none the less...i'm sure they wanted it to be fast paced to excite the crowd being that it was his debut. but Ultimo isn't just a spot-fest wrestler, for those who watched wCw know what i'm talking about...he's actually got really good mat skills and throws a lot of submission holds into his matches. soo yeah, i was wondering if he's had any long impressive matches on Velocity...or if they're all short/fast-paced matches.
Tawren Posted October 1, 2003 Report Posted October 1, 2003 Nothing great, nothing terrible. Nothing to go out of your way to see.
Kahran Ramsus Posted October 1, 2003 Report Posted October 1, 2003 That's pretty much the story for Velocity. I like catching the show because it is more subdued and relaxed than Smackdown is. Almost like a house show. None of the matches are great. I think they had a good Kidman/Tajiri match once, but that's about it.
ISportsFan Posted October 1, 2003 Report Posted October 1, 2003 None of the matches are great. I think they had a good Kidman/Tajiri match once, but that's about it. That match was in the first ever edition of Velocity. Jason
art_vandelay Posted October 1, 2003 Report Posted October 1, 2003 It's the only show where you can catch dream match-ups like Albert vs. Funaki.
USC Wuz Robbed! Posted October 1, 2003 Report Posted October 1, 2003 And where unknown jobbers come out to play.
KTID Posted October 1, 2003 Report Posted October 1, 2003 For those who saw Dragon in his prime (96ish) he's nothing of note now, mostly due to the surgery.
notJames Posted October 1, 2003 Report Posted October 1, 2003 I'm just glad they finally named that finisher of his (Asai DDT).
Silence Posted October 1, 2003 Report Posted October 1, 2003 Last Saturday on Velocity was the only time Dragon impressed me with his WWE work with Funaki vs. two jobbers. Other than that, he isn't the same as he used to be pre-arm surgery.
Lil' Bitch Posted October 2, 2003 Report Posted October 2, 2003 None of the matches are great. I think they had a good Kidman/Tajiri match once, but that's about it. There was a kick ass match a month or two ago on Velocity. It was TWGTT Vs. Funaki / Spanky. Anyway regarding Ultimo, my favorite WWE match of his so far was against Kanyon on the Heat before Vengeance. *is pissed it wasn't on the Vengeance DVD
SamoaRowe Posted October 2, 2003 Report Posted October 2, 2003 Velocity is a fun little show to watch when you get a chance. I taped it while I was gone camping and I came back to be pleasantly surprised with how much fun they were. Ultimo Dragon, Spanky, Nunzio, The Basham Brothers, Kanyan, and others really put on a show worth seeing.
Guest TheZsaszHorsemen Posted October 2, 2003 Report Posted October 2, 2003 One cannot forget to mention that the commentary is so bad it adds to the matches.
CanadianChick Posted October 2, 2003 Report Posted October 2, 2003 The Josh/Tazz team? I love that team!
SamoaRowe Posted October 2, 2003 Report Posted October 2, 2003 LoL! I don't know, I like the awfulness of the Tazz/Josh Matthews team. It's like they're not even working, they're just having a good time.
Damaramu Posted October 2, 2003 Report Posted October 2, 2003 What happened to The Cat!? He was even worse!!!!
SamoaRowe Posted October 2, 2003 Report Posted October 2, 2003 What happened to The Cat!? He was even worse!!!! I will always fondly remember the Cat.
Silence Posted October 2, 2003 Report Posted October 2, 2003 What happened to The Cat!? He was even worse!!!! I will always fondly remember the Cat. Bleh, he sounded like a black Mongo McMichael to me because half the time, I couldn't make out what he was saying. He also talked about Torrie Wilson and Shaniqua (eww) too much, almost to King "Pupppiiieeeesss!" level.
Lil' Bitch Posted October 2, 2003 Report Posted October 2, 2003 Ernest always picking on Josh was gold.
USC Wuz Robbed! Posted October 2, 2003 Report Posted October 2, 2003 Cat's being packaged for an inring return
