BifEverchad 0 Report post Posted October 1, 2003 Rikishi continues to tell friends that he is very frustrated with his WWE contract negotiations. Things have gotten so bad that he is starting to consider his options, in particularly NWA TNA. Paul Heyman has not talked with NWA TNA officials, despite other rumors. It is believed that Heyman has more than two years remaining on his WWE contract. However, there is always a chance that WWE could release him, many think that Vince will hang on to him for the simple fact that he doesn’t want him working for a competitor. WWE recently showed last minute interest in Konnan through negotiations with Rey Mysterio. Konnan ended up passing on the chance to return to the company due to being happy in TNA. This came as a shock to most, considering the former WCW superstar has tried to get WWE to sign him over the past few years. (credit: a1wrestling.com) ----------------------------------------------------------------------- I could see Rikishi getting released, and probably going to TNA. There he could possiblily start a team and/or stable with Siaki and Ekmo (Jamal). As far as Heyman goes, I'd say he ain't going anywhere. The contract is still for TWO more years and Vince won't let him go to TNA, or anywhere else. He'll stick around. It's weird that Konnan's interest in the WWE has disolved. Wasn't it just a year or so ago, he was outside Vince's office washing windows, trying to get an interview? (jk)

The Ghost of bps21 0 Report post Posted October 1, 2003 Here's what I don't get... If Rikishi's having a contract dispute...why would he being weighing the option of going to a place that won't pay him a fraction of what WWE will? What kind of sense does that make? Nevermortal 0 Report post Posted October 1, 2003 Go Ahead TNA, You know you want him... He has more value then your world champion does...take him... FUCK THAT. AJ Styles is severely, immensely, superastronomically greater than Rikishi, name value or not.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted October 1, 2003 Doesn't Make sense, I rather do nothing making 6 digits then wrestle and perform in a bingo hall for 2500 people make squat.

AJ Styles is severely, immensely, superastronomically greater than Rikishi, name value or not. Yeah but has he made a IMPACT for TNA to make them a successful national company? Nope, Rikishi was a big name in WWE in 2000 and was a headliner and main evented WWE for a short time... Which gives him some good creditentals right there... TNA would take him just for the fact he worked for WWE...They'll take Ahmed Johnson at this point "MMM, Drug History, No known English Speaking ability, injury Prone...WHAT? WAIT! HE WORKED FOR WWF? HIRE HIM! LADIES AND GENTS! OUR NEW #1 FACE! BIG TONY NORRIS! I can feel it Jeff! We're in the big time now..." The Ghost of bps21 0 Report post Posted October 1, 2003 Now...Raven's point was in the context of going from a big push in WCW to nothing in WWE. He had a lot to say about how spending a long time being treated like crap and pretty much being told you are crap...made him feel like crap. His situation was more about being liberated from those miserable feelings than financial.

Raven doesn't have a family, Rikishi has a Big Family... Raven as usual thinks HIS agenda is the right one and that everyone follows it or are just corporate mindless yokels. The Ghost of bps21 0 Report post Posted October 1, 2003 I will say this. I have actually heard (or seen rather) someone say "I'm ordering TNA this week because of the Styles/Low Ki match"... wheras I don't think anyone would say "I'm ordering to see what Rikishi does!" RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted October 1, 2003 The _point_ is that wrestlers are glory hogs - the cheering of the crowd is a drug and they are all addicts. Not being used is worse than not being paid.

He headlined a few raws and smackdowns and was in a PPV main event along with a part in a Major Storyline. Rikishi was a MONSTER face in 2000, his merch did GREAT sales and was generally considered the highlight for many househows... It's equally Sad someone would pay to see WWE Rejects in the first place such as Jarrett...Rikishi would be no different.
The Ghost of bps21 0 Report post Posted October 1, 2003 It would almost be worth it for the angle where a skinny masked man stalks someone for a month than the day he unmasks he is suddenly 400 pounds.
The Ghost of bps21 0 Report post Posted October 1, 2003 Well...if you look at some of the names the WWE has let go that were in their system...being a WWE reject doesn't always mean your bad. Sometimes (Raven in particular) they just don't have anything for you. Hell...wasn't American Dragon under WWE development at one point? And I know they cut a few good people when they bought WCW...guys who never even made it to development. Strangely...I think one was Jimmy Yang...who they just re-signed. 2GOLD 0 Report post Posted October 1, 2003 Anyone noticing that when guys were offered deals to the WWE, they basically said thanks but no thanks? Maybe that should tell people something. The WWE apparently isn't the happy grounds of green it once was. Makes you wonder if Rikishi isn't just the start of a bad trend for the WWE. What happens if they do this to Jericho? I'd imagine he'd be fine working one day a week and having more time with his band and family. And it doesn't sound like the WWE is in the money like they once were. King Cucaracha 0 Report post Posted October 1, 2003 Yeah, those crazy talentless WWE rejects...like A.J Styles, Low Ki, Yang, Am Drag, Raven, D-Lo Brown, Jerry Lynn... All a bunch of rejects, right? I mean, why should TNA pick up talented wrestlers if they happened to work for another company beforehand. They should stay on the scrap heap, because we all know if you're not in the WWE anymore, you must be nothing but a reject for the rest of your career. As for Rikishi, TNA'll go for him for name value. But if he does go, hopefully we'll be free from the dancing fat samoan gimmick he can't shake off in the WWE. Guest Goodear Report post Posted October 1, 2003 Yang, American Dragon Uhm, Yang doesn't work for TNA anymore and I don't remember American Dragon being on a single show. Aren't both under WWE contract now?

Spaceman Spiff 0 Report post Posted October 1, 2003 Yang is under contract, but I don't believe AmDragon is. He had a couple matches on Heat & Velocity, but they were probably just try-out matches.
Guest Dynamite Kido Report post Posted October 1, 2003 Yeah, those crazy talentless WWE rejects...like A.J Styles, Low Ki, Yang, Am Drag, Raven, D-Lo Brown, Jerry Lynn... Point and case. Why is it when the WWE releases someone they are considered a "reject", yet everyone will bitch and moan when the WWE has them signed and don't do anything useful with them? I would imagine that they were just misused talent them.....right?

Guest subliminal_animal Report post Posted October 1, 2003 news that Rikishi may come...and Konnan wouldn't go... Yeah ... that's what their wives said! Ouch! Take it from me ... that one hurt even if you didn't understand it. What impact would he make? You'd be a pretty sad person to order TNA just to see Rikishi. Actually, no—I'd be happy if I was seeing Rikishi on the pay-per-view that I only ordered because of his appearance on it. wheras I don't think anyone would say "I'm ordering to see what Rikishi does!" Yeah, they don't sound excited enough. Maybe I'm just speaking for me, but I'm probably really speaking for everybody ever when I say that when Rikishi is up to something, I want to see what it is that Rikishi is up to. And when I state my desire to see what he's up to and what I will order in order to see it, I make sure I'm totally flipping my wig. I wouldn't cry if Rikishi left I wouldn't either, I'd just order TNA to see what Rikishi does!
