EVIL~! alkeiper Posted October 1, 2003 Report Posted October 1, 2003 Florida @ San Francisco Brad Penny (14-10) vs. Sidney Ponson (17-12) 4pm, ESPN Sidney Ponson earned a decision in 29 of his 31 starts. How often does that happen? The Giants shut out the Marlins yesterday, thanks to the dominance of Jason Schmidt. Tonight the Giants don't have Schmidt, making their task a little more difficult. Still, Ponson is adequate, and they have home field advantage. Chicago Cubs @ Atlanta Carlos Zambrano (14-11) vs. Mike Hampton (14-8) 8pm, ESPN If one more ballpark plays "Day-O", I'm going to go insane. Why do they insist on playing it? Do players rally around it? Gary Sheffield comes to the plate, hears that sweet sound, and gets psyched? The Cubs pulled off a great win yesterday. A win tonight, and they go to Chicago up 2-0. Cue flashbacks of 1984. Boston @ Oakland Pedro Martinez (14-4) vs. Tim Hudson (16-7) 10pm, ESPN So let me get this straight. The Cubs/Braves game airs at 8 on ESPN. The Red Sox/A's ALSO airs on ESPN, at 10pm? Someone's getting screwed, and I fear it will be the fans. Its a shame, because this game is as good of a pitching matchup as you'll see all postseason. No favorites here, so just sit back and enjoy what should be a highly competitive contest.
the pinjockey Posted October 1, 2003 Report Posted October 1, 2003 Is there a reason Zambrano is going tomorrow? I didn't know if they wanted Prior to pitch in Wrigley or if it was just Zambrano's turn in the rotation.
the max Posted October 1, 2003 Report Posted October 1, 2003 Why doesn't Fox have a game? Paradise Hotel finale
ISportsFan Posted October 1, 2003 Report Posted October 1, 2003 Even if the Cubs/Braves game runs over, the A's/Sox game will start on ESPN2 and move over to ESPN when the NL game ends. Jason
Vern Gagne Posted October 1, 2003 Report Posted October 1, 2003 Is there a reason Zambrano is going tomorrow? I didn't know if they wanted Prior to pitch in Wrigley or if it was just Zambrano's turn in the rotation. Prior pitched on Saturday and it is Zambrano's turn.
KingPK Posted October 1, 2003 Report Posted October 1, 2003 Who is the team doing he Sox-A's game? If Joe Morgan is anywhere near Network Associates Coliseum, I'm just going to put on the Sox radio broadcast.
OldSchoolWrestling Posted October 1, 2003 Report Posted October 1, 2003 I don't know how they decide the announcers, but he lives nearby so it wouldn't suprise me if he were doing the game.
KingPK Posted October 1, 2003 Report Posted October 1, 2003 Oh joy, even better. Joe Castiglione and Jerry Trupiano have another listener for tonight.
Bored Posted October 1, 2003 Report Posted October 1, 2003 No Berman is doing the Giants/Marlins game like yesterday because he HAS to do every Giants game to jerk off all over Barry. For the A's/Red Sox it will be whoever the guy who does the games with David Justice and Justice of course. I forget the guy's name.
Bruiser Chong Posted October 1, 2003 Report Posted October 1, 2003 Joe Morgan and Jon Miller will be doing the Cubs/Braves game.
treble Posted October 1, 2003 Report Posted October 1, 2003 Why do they stick Dan Schulman on the radio broadcasts? He's better than anyone else they've got.
Cartman Posted October 1, 2003 Report Posted October 1, 2003 They got Jeff Brantley and some other loser doing the Sox/A's game tonight. This series gets ZERO respect from the networks and the league...
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted October 1, 2003 Author Report Posted October 1, 2003 That's still better than listening to Rick Sutcliffe.
Vern Gagne Posted October 2, 2003 Report Posted October 2, 2003 What you didn't like Rick saying that Ozzie Guillen was the Marlins MVP during that 3 run inning to tie the game?
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted October 2, 2003 Author Report Posted October 2, 2003 I watched the Phillies broadcast of that, so I didn't get Sutcliffe, thank god. Just read an espn chat of the man, and you'll see what kind of analyst he is.
