The delay in Raw ratings is due to a problem in that the original numbers given didn't include the overrun. The rating as things stand is a 3.4, which is the lowest in a long time. It may go up to a 3.5 depending on how the overrun did.

lowest rating since the June 9 show if rating is a 3.5

lowest rating since the April 04 show if rating stays at 3.4

It was the ME and hyped up for a week.

And there was hardly a vignette that hyped it during the show. Oh wait, RVD thanked Steve Austin for the match. Silly me. Must have forgot. And considering RVD/Christian was on in the final spot - and the OR isn't out yet - with almost no buildup during the show, they can't seriously be blamed for the ratings. That had to be a joke, right Mike ? Er.....right ?

Wait to see what the overrun does until you say RVD and Christian will get the blame. Usually a fun main event with no storylines to it scores a big rating (example, Dudley Boyz and Spike vs a main eventer or two and another guy in a tables match).

I just hope the next Raw will have more Jericho, Christian, RVD, women wrestling.

Well, obviously. They're some of the more entertaining aspects of the show.

So Orton, Goldberg, Henry, announcer wrestling - it is !

Tha Game probably won't be back until January. Back wrestling that is, as I'm sure

they will show some long clips of him on the movie sets.

HHH is the smartest man in wrestling, he knew that the ratings will go down as soon as the fall season started.Hopefully Vince won't get scared by bringing HHH back too soon.

I must-uhh coincide my marriage-uhh with new fall-uhh premieres-uhhh to prove I draw ratings unlike Brock-uh. Hope-uh those smarks don't see through-uhh my cooky idea-uhhh. Hope they don't make funny of me-uhhhh saying uhhhh after everything too.....uhhh

Well, if you wish to ignore the end of last week's show. Or the announcement, again, of it being ME this week.

If Rob wants to be a ME'er, he has to suffer when things don't go well.

As for not knowing the exact rating, I doubt the OR popped a huge number.

Rob marks hate this little problem. If he is put in the ME and the show tanked -- guess who takes the heat?

Your logic fails here though. If the fans knew the RVD/Christian ladder match would be the Main Event, why are RVD and Christian responsible for the rest of the show ? Especially since they hardly appeared on any worthwile vignettes during the night (RVD thanking Austin, Christian screwup). They can't be blamed for the screw-up because:

a) It's not like they were all over the show this week, and fans tuned away to get away from them.

and

b) We don't know what the overrun rating was

by the way....

c) I hardly call a 3.4 or 3.5 rating as the show tanking.

Let's just wait to see how the ladder match itself did.

Here is what RAW had leading up to the main event

-a 20 minute or a little less opening promo with Bischoff, Jericho, Austin, Coach and JR.

-Kane talking before getting taken out by SHIT and Hurricane

-Cade/Maven/Jindrak vs La Deadgimmick

-JR vs Coach (as the 9pm main event no less)

-Lita and Trish getting beat down

-Kane vs Hurricane

-Triple H talking

-Goldberg/PrayerWarrior vs Orton/Flair with a special guest starring role by Rodney Mack and

Mark Henry (remember, they called this the main event...or at least JR did)

Now, looking at that line up....can anyone honestly say that the show even DOING above 3 isn't an accomplishment?

RAW was hell on Earth this week.

Well remember....RVD is the worst wrestler ever, draws horrible ratings, the fans don't cheer him at all, and he hurts people seriously(i mean he ended all those careers) so of course all the blame must fall on him.

Oh and I watched the entire show without changing the channel once and was under the impression that Goldberg/HBK vs. Orton/Flair was going to be the main event. Hell after RVD walked off from Austin I forgot there even was going to be a damn ladder match.

So once again....you can't blame RVD.

Somehow, HHH gets blamed for the ratings tanking, even when he's not on the show constantly.

Why? Because he's IN THE MAIN EVENT OF THE SHOW, usually.

The MAIN EVENTER gets the blame --- that's what comes with BEING A MAIN EVENTER.

Your attempts to justify your beliefs are laughable.

Or he was listening to JR who CLEARLY said

"IT'S OUR MAIN EVENT AND IT'S UP NEXT!" as Goldberg was walking to the ring.

Least Coach would have known where he was, unlike JR who I expect to shout "WHEN'S JELLO" during a match next week.

To a common fan who may have been doing other things, perhaps they thought the Goldberg match was the main since JR said it was.

RAW was just horrible in terms of production and matches leading up to the main event.

Funny, I seem to remember EB and others, last week and this week, mentioning that ladder match. I seem to remember RVD thanking Austin for getting him that match.

But, hey, it drew less than JR v Coach.

Probably Hunter's fault.

More Details On RAW Rating

RVD/Christian match fails to draw...

RAW finished with a 3.4 overall rating, the show's lowest rating in awhile. The rating is down from a 3.6 from last week and a 3.7 from the week before.

The highest rated segment of the show was a 3.9 for the Jim Ross/Jonathan Coachman match in the fifth quarter. The Kane/Hurricane match caused the 3.9 in Q5 to drop down to a 3.4. The next quarter, featuring Goldberg & Shawn Michaels facing Ric Flair & Randy Orton, did a 3.5 rating. The RVD/Christian Ladder match did a low 3.3 rating in Q8 and went up to a 3.6 for the overrun, one of RAW's lowest overruns in recent memory.

The rating displays that when wrestlers are treated as mid-card level wrestlers for months and months, fans will simply not buy them as headliners overnight.

Well when the Ladder match is mentioned ONCE in the whole show and then JR calls another match the MAIN EVENT you kind of think that it won't be the main event. Moron.

The fault lies in the WWE itself. Three years ago they were in a place where they could have made Jericho, Benoit, and Angle the new generation of main eventers. Insteady, they opted to keep Undertaker, Austin, Rock, and Triple H looking strong. Now Austin is in semi-retirement, Rock is making movies, HHH's skills and impact are in the toilet, and Undertaker is still kicking. They WWE fucked up big time by not capitilizing on the talent they had then and now it's biting them in the ass.

The fault also lies in the WWE for taking too long to realize that quick fixes were not going to solve the problem. There haven't been any quick fixes as of late, but so many fans stopped watching during the times of half-assed nWo returns, HLA, and necrophelia that they probably assume it's just as bad.

Also, if it makes you feel better, go watch some old wrestling tapes. Watch Diesel vs Mabel and then you'll feel much MUCH better about today's product.
