Fantasy NBA League?

Recommended Posts

Looks like i'm having a close matchup for the first time in a while, tied 4-4 with rebounds the only category that's probably safe. I think i have a 17-15 game advantage, so hopefully that can nab me the win.

I can see where this is headed. Just like in the NFL League where I staged an awesome comeback over the last several weeks of the season, only to come up a few points shot of the playoffs, I am again doing the same thing in the NBA league. Im probably going to finish mere percentage points behind whatever team finishes in 6th.

This coming of a year where I finished in 2nd in the MLB and NBA leagues..

My matchup continues to be much close than i'd like. I'll likely scrape by on games left to be played, but while i'm right in the fight for the last few playoff spots a narrow 4 or 5 category win isn't good enough.

Stackhouse slipping back to giving me average numbers isn't helping things, he was looking real good right after he returned but i guess the Wizards suck is contagious. Nene and Dalembert aren't doing much for me at the center position either, though at least Samuel gives me plenty of blocks.

Stackhouse officially shut himself down for the rest of the season after tonight's game, guess he realized it was over for the Wizards anyways, might as well not risk blowing his knee totally out.

Kirk Hinrich just recorded the first rookie triple double of the year. By God, the man is special.

Bah. My team has been suspiciously healthy lately, i guess it figures something like this would happen to try and de-rail my team. But as long as nothing happens to Garnett i should be alright.

*gets back to work on a bionic knee for Stackhouse*

And it seems our final three weeks will be an entertain few as:

11) Fear The Slayers

12) Pocono Poison - 1GB

13) Gwanju White Tigers - 3GB

14) The Alfdogg Asylum - 3.5GB

15) Crimson Storm - 14GB

Although, Crimson Storm must win at least 18 of 24 to even have a chance of making the last two playoffs, the last two spots are still anyones game.

As for the top running playoff spots:

3) Team 2004

4) Better Than Utah - .5GB

5) Whalers On The Moon - 1.5GB

6) Team FAilure~! - 5GB

7) The S.H.I.T - 7.5GB

8) The Court Jesters - 8GB

9) Pogo The Monkey - 14.5GB

It's pretty much anyone's game. Although, I think the only playoff position that'll be battled hard for is probably 6, as long as the top 5 continue to dominate like they have.

I have moved back into the top 6 via the power of players who never get off the bench on good teams but on a shitty team, can drop 20 plus everynight.

I think I can make a solid run at 4 to 5 but I'm good with 6, although Jason Kidd's iffy knee is a bit disturbing.

Im playing and will probably pass The S.H.I.T. and at least get into 7th place this week unless my whole team decides they dont want to play (see Juwan Howard with a stomach virus and Dwayne Wade with a bone spur)

Dwayne Wade is out 7 to 10 days, so yeah, you may be in a bit of trouble.

Oh yeah, Wizards doctors now say Stackhouse may be able to play a few more games. I dunno, I'd let the guy sit, better to have a working knee next year than to be Stone Cold Jerry Stackhouse, master of the multiple kneebrace.

...if Stackhouse plays more games right after i've dropped him...

*loads shotgun*

Here's hoping the Caron Butler from last season returns and kills the pod person that's been in his place this year. He's been decent the two games since i've picked him up, but he'll likely be back in his pool of inexplicable suck before long.

Looks like I dominated in the rebounds stat with 4 players getting 10+ in the games tonight. I was worried that Jerome Williams would not play due the injury from last week but he got 10 rebounds, so its all good.

Carter might be back today so YAH ME~!

At least means I've got a chance at making 12th... A slim chance considering whom I'm facing the next two weeks (Celtics and Team2004) but I've got a shot.

damnit damnit damnit damnit

Camby (ok, so this isn't totally unexpected) is hurt with a strained right groin and Kerry Kittles scores 31 for the S.H.I.T.

Ford

Wade

Howard

Camby

My team should be the Injury Prone Guys

Ron Artest returned last night, unbeknownst to me, which means either the doctors or media or both didn't know what the fuck they were talking about. So I missed his stats last night and also tonight against the Clips.

I missed Carter's stats yesterday when everyone said "oh, he'll be back tomorrow (today)".

Fuckers. All of them. They don't know squat.

That is my opinion on Stephen A. Smith whenever he starts hating on RASHO and goes on the Lakers are the greatest team in the world filabuster BS.

Oh come on! Steven A. Smith is loud! And there for everything he says is important! LOUD! HE IS LOUD!

Seriously, when the fuck did being able to talk at a higher volume than others become a talent that you can get paid actual money for?

It's the Lakers... You need someone to raise a storm. Since the team can't do it motivationally.

Although, I can't believe I'm actually up 5-3 on Celtics when I MISSED Carter playing that day. Even better, is I might've gotten a boost as some of his players played sub-par today.

If Pocono Poison, Alfdogg Ayslum, and Slayers all go 0-8, 7-1, or even 2-6, and I go 6-2... Well, let's just say that 12th playoff spot just became reachable for me.

That would be the greatest victory for me. Making that final playoff spot. I think it'll happen... I must face Pocono Poison in the final week. I've got a shot at 12th... It's still slim, dreamful, but it still is there.

Im going nuts here with my team. Every day a new player is hurt!

Today, I've got no starters because Rip Hamilton broke his nose for 3 games.

Ford

Wade

Camby

Hamilton

And scores havent been updated but Im probably losing to an inactive team.

*Says goodbye to playoff chances*

I think my team trumps all of you. Keon Clark, Raef LaFrentz, AND Matt Harpring have missed practically the entire season. Karl Malone has missed 35 games. Allen Iverson missed a month. Only a last second, deadline trade spared me losing Vince Carter for a month. Eddy Curry missed a month. Brent Barry is in the process of missing six weeks.

At least I get Malone back next week.

Yet that Vince Carter trade never really did hurt me since the other guy I traded him for wasn't doing squat either.

So really, wasn't too bad for me.

Other than the never-ending Stackhouse saga i've been pretty lucky with injuries, god bless the super-durable Garnett, in 9 seasons he's only missed more than 5 games once.

I did the math, being 7.5 games out of 6th place, Im the only team not in the top 6 with a realistic chance to make into the top 6.

Over the next two weeks, I have to go 16-0 and Team Failure needs to go 7-8-1 or worse.

Not very likely, but just like the NFL league, I've got a chance although Im gonna end up just a bit short again.
