EVIL~! alkeiper 0 Report post Posted March 29, 2004 Michael Redd drops 36 points. One day pick-up Tyronn Lue drops 19. As long as Kobe doesn't have one of those 40 point outbursts, things are looking good for the Miracle Poison.
Cuban Linx 0 Report post Posted March 29, 2004 Well i'm hanging on by a thread, my opponent already won FT's and Steals, and with Maggette, Kirilenko and Shaq to go he's only down by 12 FG's, 24 points and 3 assists, so unless Shaq and AK-47 don't play for some reason i'm finished. EVIL~! alkeiper 0 Report post Posted March 29, 2004 Down to the wire, things are looking sweet. I'm up 6-2, and Johnson just has Kobe Bryant left. Kobe needs 30 field goals, 24 free throws, 78 points, 96 rebounds, 19 steals, and two blocks to catch me in those categories. Needless to say, we are one game away from severing Johnson's last link to this board.
Sandman9000 0 Report post Posted March 29, 2004 Pogo the Monkey suddenly showed up and decided to make things interesting, but he still played about half of the games he had available. Kwame decided to show up and J. O'Neal played as well, so I should be ready to be crushed in the next round. Now I just need Michael Finley and Speedy Claxton to get healthy. Cuban Linx 0 Report post Posted March 29, 2004 SHIT. By my calculations i lose 5-3, i was 3 rebounds and 1 f'ing assist from making an unlikely victory. Bloody hell. * curses K-Mart and Q-Rich's injuries *

Cuban Linx 0 Report post Posted March 29, 2004 Well my defeat is official, looks like i'll have to settle for the 5th place playoff. I'm determined to win though, by sheer volume of players if nothing else, i think i've added/dropped as many players in the last few days as i've done the whole season previous. EVIL~! alkeiper 0 Report post Posted March 29, 2004 We should change a handful of categories to percentages next year, in order to prevent player saturation from becoming a viable strategy. Lord knows I've pioneered it. In any case, FT% instead of FTs, and FG% instead of FGs sounds reasonable. Also, we should set our lineups weekly next time.
Cartman 0 Report post Posted March 29, 2004 Daily lineups are a big part of the Head 2 Head style though, I like it that way. I do agree with percentages being used in the future though.
the pinjockey 0 Report post Posted March 30, 2004 We could add in turnovers if you wanted to counteract player saturation.
EVIL~! alkeiper 0 Report post Posted March 30, 2004 We could add in turnovers if you wanted to counteract player saturation. I don't like turnovers, because they generally have little connection with actual TO ability. Players rack up big TO numbers simply because they carry the ball more.
the pinjockey 0 Report post Posted March 30, 2004 I agree, but there aren't many other ways to discourage player saturation. We could set game limits. Maybe 100 games per position. This gives you some room to cycle, but you wouldn't want your bench players in every game.

Guest Mindless_Aggression Report post Posted March 30, 2004 Well me and the Celts had 2 players in the dogfight that was Atlanta vs Memphis and I believe he had Mr. Posey, so I'm already down most likely. Good times.

Lightning Flik 0 Report post Posted March 30, 2004 ... *shaking of head* Since everyone is ok with how the stats are played out, and how the suggestion for an extra player is. Here we go with what we'll have for next season. Again, just a proposition. 9 players to be drafted once again. 2 guards, 2 forwards, 2 utilities, a lone centre, 2 benches. IL drops to 2. Stats: FGM, FTM, 3PTM, PTS, REB, AST, STL, BLK, TO(new). 9 stats in total, one new stat. Two keepers is still debatable, btw, but since I'm not changing anything (only adding a single stat to get rid of the 4-4 ties), the idea of keepers will be staying. Said amount is up in the air. On March 21st, you must decide whether you wish to take two keepers and lose your first two draft picks, or restart fresh. Now I know some people are going to say that "I would've planned on keeping some players had I known this" but how are you sure you were going to keep them then? Besides, I doubt a lot of people will go the two keeper route (mostly bottom drafting teams that were highly ranked). You have the option of changing your choice of keepers or fresh up until April 18th (that's the finalized day for having keepers or no). Trading keepers for picks or keepers for keepers will be allowed a month prior to the official drafting day. During the draft, trades will be allowed, but only at the person officating the trade's pick (so say I have the 14 draft pick in the third round, and I'm trading up, I must state that I've traded my third round pick for Alfdogg's #3 choice, Brian Cardinal, and then let Alfdogg make his pick). All trades made during the draft, must be approved by the commish before said trade is announced (just because I don't want this multi-player eighteen man trade going down between three teams without due notice and assurance that this is agreed upon by both managers). That more or less covers it. As it stands right now for the draft (order of the draft will be finalized March 21st as well, playoffs is a whole difference season and shouldn't reflect on what is done). What position you have determines what pick you have every single round. 01) *New Manager* 02) Gotham Harlequinns 03) Crimson Storm 04) Gwangju White Tigers 05) Fear The Slayers 06) Pocono Poison 07) The Alfdogg Asylum 08) The Allegied Rapists 09) The Court Jesters 10) Pogo The Monkey 11) Whalers On The Moon 12) Team Failure~! 13) Better Than Utah 14) Team 2004 15) Celtics 16) Guerreros May I please have some indication of WHY you people suddenly don't agree with what I had put forth and WAS PASSED OVER FOR THE MAJORITY OF IT~! Yes, somethings were changed. Like I only wished to know if you were keeping instead of WHO it was. Yes, the draft format has changed, just because people finished differently and no one wanted draft picks changed. But for the majority, it stayed the same. And wasn't really objected. So please inform me, why oh freaking why are we back at square one in trying to fix things a whole month and a half later? For info, this wasn't touched even a whole day later. I actually checked myself on this.
EVIL~! alkeiper 0 Report post Posted March 30, 2004 Because we have a new problem that has occured. Owners dumping players en mass in order to field a full lineup the last day or two of the matchup. And like I said, I probably pioneered it. But what happens if I'm down 5-3, Allen Iverson, Karl Malone, and Michael Redd are on the bench, and I have one player in a game. Of course I'm going to pick up five players to fill the lineup, because I'm finished otherwise. We are discussing solutions to fix a specific problem. As commissioner, instead of pissing and moaning, you should review these suggestions.

As commissioner, instead of pissing and moaning, you should review these suggestions. You know, I'm pissed because I brought any questions or complaints a whole month before we started to shut down. I'm a little pissed that this was brought up a whole month and a half later. And please don't give me the excuse the en masse firing of people is something new. It isn't. Everyone has been doing it all season, and it was never a problem then. I probably should've just locked the "drop players" in the playoffs. But I hadn't, so yes, my bad on that part. ...meh, your right. I am being an ass. Sorry about that. Got a lot on my mind and kinda letting it spill over to where it doesn't belong. That being here. Anyways onto what you were talking about. If you wish to do the weekly thing, all I'd have to do to change it, is instead of having a bench is: have those bench spots as utilities, or more specific roster slots. That's all there is to it. If we wish to give it day to day, I could even limit the amount of players you can pick up. All there is to it really. Not really much to discuss, we just need to figure out which route we wish to go, and that be that.
Cuban Linx 0 Report post Posted March 31, 2004 Two days into the matchup and i already have a healthy lead in most categories, 5th place will be mine. It's seems every time i play fantasy basketball i lose the important matchup, than go all out and win a minor place like 4th or 5th.
MarvinisaLunatic 0 Report post Posted April 3, 2004 If I figure that I dumped Butler for Lucious Harris, I think the move has worked out better than I would have anticipated (especially after Butlers 30 pts earlier in the week). I wouldn't have dropped Butler, except for the fact that I saw an oppertunity to pick up Harris who was going to be a starter due to Kidd's injury. Im surprised that no one else picked him up. I also went ahead and dropped Ford who's done for the year and Jackson, who I picked up when I dropped Butler although his IL status allowed me to pick up Harris. Anyway, Im winning 5-3 with sizable leads in Points, FGM and FTM. Hopefully I can carry the other two Im winning. Im at a game disadvantage 9-7 although Slayers has 2 people playing Sunday who were hurt and didn't play (Tinsley, Brown) last night. If it ends up a 4-4 tie, I would advance with the better winning %.

Guest Mindless_Aggression Report post Posted April 4, 2004 I think I am gonna somehow, via the grace of God, manage to beat Cartman and at the very least, I'll have probably given him his best match up in the whole thing, so I'll consider that a moral victory if we can't get the actual win. How DARE Bob Sura go nuts and lead me in points, rebounds, assists and God knows what else. If he signs anywhere but Atlanta next year, he never does this again, but he's having a really great last few months.
razazteca 0 Report post Posted April 4, 2004 With Coran Butler, Alton Rafer, Carlos Boozer having good games tonight it looks like I will take the lead. Butler and Boozer had 14+ rebounds and went to the line which I needed in the worst way and of course Rafer did the usual 7 assists and 3 pointers.
