Guest EQ Posted October 6, 2003 Report Posted October 6, 2003 Did anybody watch the new Tarzan show on the WB Sunday? I checked it out last night and I really like it.
The Dames Posted October 7, 2003 Report Posted October 7, 2003 Well, I watched it with you and you saw first hand how I practically no sold it. I didn't care for it. Seriously....how the FUCK did Tarzan find Jane all over the city? "I hunted you" is not a fucking excuse. Dames
Nighthawk Posted October 7, 2003 Report Posted October 7, 2003 I didn't watch it, but in lieu of that I was flipping through a Teen People and saw the guy that plays Tarzan. He looks like the kind of guy that chicks dig, if they get him in the public eye the show could do well.
Guest EQ Posted October 9, 2003 Report Posted October 9, 2003 I thought it was good. It had some cheesy moments, but I'm willing to give it a chance
Anakin Flair Posted October 9, 2003 Report Posted October 9, 2003 I have no interest in this show, whatsoever
WrestlingDeacon Posted October 9, 2003 Report Posted October 9, 2003 I about half watched it on Sunday. I thought it was pretty stupid. It took Tarzan and updated it into a teeny-bopper soap. While that has actually worked pretty well with Superman on Smallville, this is just a ripoff of that. The female lead reminds of Gena Davis.
Guest EQ Posted October 9, 2003 Report Posted October 9, 2003 While I will not argue one bit that this show is trying to feed off the success of Smallville, I still think it's worth watching. Tarzan in a modern setting? Come on, you know it's kinda cool. The actor they chose for Tarzan... yeah, he is just a generic prettyboy to make the girls cream, but I'm still giving the show a chance. I've got nothing else to watch at that time on Sundays anyway.
Guest EQ Posted October 13, 2003 Report Posted October 13, 2003 I guess it's probably a lost cause, but I'm going to ask anyway. Did anyone catch tonight's episode? I thought it was pretty good. Spoiler (Highlight to Read): I knew Jane's boyfriend wasn't going to last long.
Jobber of the Week Posted October 13, 2003 Report Posted October 13, 2003 This plot is held together with bubble-gum and duct tape, but it worked for Hercules, though they didn't try to drag that story into "modern day." So who knows how long it will last. And I could look like that guy..... If I really wanted to.
Kardo Posted October 13, 2003 Report Posted October 13, 2003 Hercules was a parody/comedy show though and I don't think Tarzan has that so can't get away with rubbish storylines.
Guest EQ Posted October 13, 2003 Report Posted October 13, 2003 Since nobody else likes the show, I guess I'll just let this thread die.
