Zack Malibu Posted October 9, 2003 Report Posted October 9, 2003 Pssh, I can't stand the Sox. I'm a Rhode Islander, and I loathe the Sox, the Patriots, and the Bruins. The only home team I like are the Celtics, but I barely follow the NBA anymore. I liked the Yankees as a kid (and the A's, actually. Canseco and McGwire on the same team rocked) and I won't stop supporting them, ESPECIALLY against the Sox. I'd root for the Rockies over the Sox.
bob_barron Posted October 9, 2003 Report Posted October 9, 2003 Yea but you're a Rangers fan. Your loyalties are all out of whack
Zack Malibu Posted October 9, 2003 Report Posted October 9, 2003 Yea but you're a Rangers fan. Your loyalties are all out of whack Loyalty schmoyalty. The Rangers have contained some of the greatest players ever, but even my markdom for Richter doesn't overshadow my loyalty to my personal favorite player of all time (not even a Ranger)...Patrick Roy. Hence my Montreal fandom (though I've stuck with them through the years even after his departure).
Anakin Flair Posted October 9, 2003 Report Posted October 9, 2003 I'd like the Cubs and the Red Sox to make it, instead of the Yankees for the umpteenth time.
Mole Posted October 10, 2003 Author Report Posted October 10, 2003 And that would be a good series too.

Mole Posted October 10, 2003 Author Report Posted October 10, 2003 ::Drains Mole of his blood and goes back to sleep:: Yes Sox lost.
Guest The Old Me Posted October 10, 2003 Report Posted October 10, 2003 ::Drains Mole of his blood and goes back to sleep:: Yes Sox lost. Surprised?
Zack Malibu Posted October 11, 2003 Report Posted October 11, 2003 Annnnd...we take another one. Pretty intense game today with all the extracurricular activity going on.
rising up out of the back seat-nuh Posted October 12, 2003 Report Posted October 12, 2003 Dammit, can we move this thread to "sports"?
JangoFett4Hire Posted October 12, 2003 Report Posted October 12, 2003 Don Zimmer was OWNED. He sucks anyways. Oh well, Sox will just have to make this a 6 game series.
Mole Posted October 12, 2003 Author Report Posted October 12, 2003 ::Drains Mole of his blood and goes back to sleep:: Yes Sox lost. Surprised? No, they lost again.
The Czech Republic Posted October 12, 2003 Report Posted October 12, 2003 Dammit, can we move this thread to "sports"? Is this an NHB first in which a thread is requested to be not taken TO, but FROM No Holds Barred?
Guest The Real Nosferatu Posted October 13, 2003 Report Posted October 13, 2003 ::Drains Mole of his blood and goes back to sleep:: Yes Sox lost. Surprised? No, they lost again. Whats in bold sums up the Red Sox playoff career for the last 80+ years.
Mole Posted October 13, 2003 Author Report Posted October 13, 2003 ::Drains Mole of his blood and goes back to sleep:: Yes Sox lost. Surprised? No, they lost again. Whats in bold sums up the Red Sox playoff career for the last 80+ years. Nah, tonight will be different. Same with tomorrow, then Thursday.
Guest The Real Nosferatu Posted October 17, 2003 Report Posted October 17, 2003 ::Drains Mole of his blood and goes back to sleep:: Yes Sox lost. Surprised? No, they lost again. Whats in bold sums up the Red Sox playoff career for the last 80+ years. Nah, tonight will be different. Same with tomorrow, then Thursday. Thursday passed....and... YANKEES WON!!! The Curse of the Bambino Continues. Or in other terms, the curse of terrible managing and being unable to finish off a team on the verge of losing.
Guest Agent of Oblivion Posted October 17, 2003 Report Posted October 17, 2003 If the Cubs lose, the Red sox have to lose as well. Now the Yankees are going to win the world series, and all is back to normal in the world.
Guest The Winter Of My Discontent Posted October 17, 2003 Report Posted October 17, 2003 Red Sox fans pysched themselves out because they actually thought this was their year. It'll happen when they least expect it, but certainly not when they are paiting World Series emblems on Fenway. They jinxed themselves. Fuck The Sox, Fuck the Cowboy Up. Now they'll learn not to act like a bunch of cocksuckers to the A's after squeaking by them.
Guest Sagrada3099 Posted October 17, 2003 Report Posted October 17, 2003 Everyone here seems to be forgetting the true future of the sport, one of the greatest teams to ever grace the diamond, the one, the only, Cincinatti Reds. ... Okay, so they suck. I still like 'em, though.
Guest The Old Me Posted October 18, 2003 Report Posted October 18, 2003 Well, the Sox showed again why they smoke the GIANT POLE. Let's go PEDRO, let's go!
Guest The Real Nosferatu Posted October 18, 2003 Report Posted October 18, 2003 I'm not sure if your pro or anti-Red Sox with that last post TNM.
Guest The Old Me Posted October 18, 2003 Report Posted October 18, 2003 Let's go PEDRO, let's go! Note sarcasm.
Guest FrigidSoul Posted October 18, 2003 Report Posted October 18, 2003 Fuck the Sox, wait till the Yanks rip apart their pitching. Pedro? He's ok...then what? Exactly. Then Derek Lowe and Tim Wakefield(who before giving up that homer had own3d the Yanks)...the Yankees didn't tear any of our pitchers apart with the exception of John Burkett...and really, who couldn't tear apart his stuff? Our number 5 starter next year however will be a kid by the name of Bronson Arroyo who pitched well over 13innings this year in his rookie season for the Sox against the Yanks and gave up 1 run

Its stuff like that which makes Rhode Island the bastard child of New England
{''({o..o})''} Posted October 18, 2003 Report Posted October 18, 2003 I hate the Yankees and everything they stand for but I KNEW that neither the Redsox or Cubs were getting in this year, so Mr. frozenblockofpissreborn III Esq. won himself $50.
Guest The Real Nosferatu Posted October 18, 2003 Report Posted October 18, 2003 The one pitcher the Yankees tore a part I didn't expect was Pedro. Wakefield surprised me by holding off the Yanks long enough to secure games 1 and 4. Still, best ALCS I have seen in a long time.
