A biker chain match...

Recommended Posts

Guest JRE

On Velocity, the rules were vaguely announced. A biker chain will be suspended above the ring, the first person to get it can use it to their advantage. They didn't make it clear if this was on a pole....or ladder match styles, although I assume the latter....the ladder. Hmph.

Lesnar and Taker care capable of having a decent straight-up match, so of course the WWE has to overcomplicate things with a stupid gimmick that will only serve to hinder the match. Ladder or Pole match, either way it won't be good.

Alright, I'm conviced that they are trying to make this show as horrid as Bad Blood

There's no way they will be able to top HIAC from last year.

The stipulation is so lame though, it would've been better if it was just a CHAIN match like HHH / Kane 2 years ago. At least, that was entertaining to some degrees.

I was thinking the chain was on a pole. And you don't win the match when get the chain, you just get to use it when you obtain it.

*Has a flashback of the Bossman / Nailz nightstick match at Survivor Series 92*

THIS IS GOING TO BE GREAT! </sarcasm>

Like Regal v. Edge from NWO 02- It will probably be on a pole and be legal to use when you get it

::Remembers the horrendously boring "knucks on a poll" match::

Aw, crap.

Aw, crap.

Think positive, AS.

At least it won't be as bad as the "Viagra on a Pole" match, or the "Judy Bagwell on a Pole" match.

Why couldn't they do a Dog Collar Type Match then?

Nope Pole/Ladder with two guys not really great at climbing...

*awaits impending return of coalminer's glove*

That was EXACTLY what came to mind last Tuesday when I first read about the match.

And I ask again, why not just make it no-DQ? SK was right, Taker has never been identified with a chain before.

Oh, and they've FINALLY added some of the other matches at the No Mercy website, along with this match and THE REAL MAIN EVENT (there's no rationalizing around this one, it's been blatantly obvious), which were the only 2 matches listed there for weeks. A piss poor effort by the website people.

A Dog Collar match would be SO much better.

Anyways, since this is the unofficial Velocidental thread, I gotta say I marked out for the Rhyno-ECW footage and hearing Joey Styles again.

And Tazz and Josh fucking rule.

That is all.

...I actually liked the "Judy Bagwell On A Pole" thing. Well, the promo Kanyon delivered for it, anyways. Just his lisp, trying to sound deep-voiced and like DDP...

Considering Regal was on the majority of the offence for the Edge v. Regal series (except for the awesome RAW match) it's absurd to blame Edge if you didn't like those matches.

Regal's offense isn't what killed the feud for me. I rather like Regal's offense.

What killed me was how out of place Edge is in almost every match unless his opponent (which is why matches with Angle and Eddy are his only REAL good stuff) completely adapts to Edge's weird style of moving super fast on offense and SUPER SLOW on defense.

That Edge face of trying to get to the ropes makes a minute feel like an hour...and is then immediately followed up by runnign aroung the ring and leaping around.

Guest Smell the ratings!!!

we're totally off topic now, but I always get a laugh out of Edge trying to get across what unbearable, torturous pain he's in by pulling his hair.

The story of the matches was Regal trying to ground and pound Edge down via any means necessary with Edge trying to come back using anything he possibly can (Hence the flashy offence)

I fail to see how Edge is out of place in almost every match he's in. The guy's gotten good matches out of people like Test and Edge.

Even though I love Regal- I felt so bad for Edge. The NWO match just made him look like a buffoon.

Part of the problem is that Edge is roughly 3 inches too tall for his moveset...making everything look "funny".

His facial expressions are the worst in the history of the business.

He did have a real good match with Test and another one with Storm...but those are the exceptions and not the rule.

If anything those were succesful because we weren't subjected to the Edge slow methodical "Edge in peril" crap that drags his other matches down.

Both the Test and Storm match were fast paced, big move after big move matches that worked beautifully.
