The Ghost of bps21 0 Report post Posted October 13, 2003 That looks awesome. I actually can't wait to see it. Damn. For one day at least they have me happy about this idea.

The Ghost of bps21 0 Report post Posted October 13, 2003 So...how about a From The Outside on this then, Bps? Dames There'll be a From the Outside anyway...but now I have to write more. One thing that pleases me to no end is that my wish in last week's column that the storyline be about Hogan wanting to get the NWA Title is (for one week at least) the way it's going. The Dames 0 Report post Posted October 13, 2003 I'm pleased....very, very pleased. In every possible way. Dames
{''({o..o})''} 0 Report post Posted October 13, 2003 If this continues to rock to such a high degree as it has done so far, I will be humbled for ever doubting Hogan's involvement. Guess I better have $30-35 ready for the PPV.
Guest TheGame2705 Report post Posted October 13, 2003 Hogan signs with TNA and TNA gets interesting..... *SHOCK* I really hope his appearance outdraws everyone else in TNA to show the Hogan haters who brings in the paper. Of course, I'm probably the only one who would pay just to see Hogan but I can dream .
Fökai 0 Report post Posted October 13, 2003 Credit to Jarrett and the TNA executives who thought this angle up. This'll bring in alot of casual fans who are just naturally attracted to anything Hogan.

Downhome 0 Report post Posted October 13, 2003 (edited) *sigh* I love Hulk Hogan. I can't believe so many of you are behind this idea, what with the insane levels of Hogan hate 'round these parts...even if it's a great story. I love it though, and for the first time since TNA has been around, I'm going to try my BEST to find some sort of way to watch their program. I just...don't really know how I can get that done. Guest Boo_Bradley Report post Posted October 13, 2003 38,000 fans was a disappointing turnout...huh
The Ghost of bps21 0 Report post Posted October 13, 2003 Meltzer wrote that part of that was the weather since most people use public transportation and the weather caused everything to shut down. He said that Hogan and Sapp being there saved the show from having pretty much 0 turn out.
Jobber of the Week 0 Report post Posted October 13, 2003 Also, Dave Sherer just recently said on his radio show that they will probably in the future be taking legal action against sites that do exactly what you just said (typing their stuff word for word and then saying "credit 1wrestling.com.") Bluff. And anyway: I also have unfinished business in the United States. The only title I've never won is the NWA World Heavyweight Title Uh... AWA? Anyway, they should have made this part of the show or something. They basically flew a guy all the way to Japan for one appearance that wasn't even part of an event so no money was made on it. I guess if the goal is to get TNA in Japan then it was a good idea. If the idea was to draw American interest in the angle then it's kinda flunky since most people here don't pay a rat's ass to what's going on in Japan anyway. The Ghost of bps21 0 Report post Posted October 13, 2003 I think the idea was to do a couple things: 1. Give New Japan a reason for Hogan (who just won the right to book New Japan as a result of his win over Chono) to disapear to the States without resolving that storyline right away. 2. Put over the NWA title...which I think it did. 3. Give TNA some footage to not only kick of the storyline, but fuel the Jarrett heel turn coming next week. Guest Boo_Bradley Report post Posted October 13, 2003 Is Chono an acknowledged Match Maker in New Japan, or what's the deal? Fill me in on the storyline please? Plus expect a Chono vs Jarrett NWA title match down the line
The Ghost of bps21 0 Report post Posted October 13, 2003 I don't know the answer to that. All I know is that the match was for control of New Japan so I guess he is recognized as such. Good call on Jarrett/Chono. I bet that was the deal. Jarrett and Chono set up this little altercation and Jarrett returns to a later show to face Chono. That's actually a really clever move for everyone.
Guest Boo_Bradley Report post Posted October 13, 2003 And anyway: I also have unfinished business in the United States. The only title I've never won is the NWA World Heavyweight Title Uh... AWA? He means active promotions that people still care about I'm sure... Plus he did win the AWA title a few times, but he kept getting stripped for uncalled DQ's and the like... The Ghost of bps21 0 Report post Posted October 13, 2003 Yes. Chono beat Rude in 92 than lost it to Muta
Guest Choken One Report post Posted October 13, 2003 Who else is in Chono's fed? Because I could dig Jarrett aligning with Chono and a couple Japan legends like Muta or something... but yea...This angle has OWNED so far.
Guest dvkorn Report post Posted October 14, 2003 From my limited puro knowledge.... Chono is like the head booker (dunno the official name) of New Japan... Some of the other guys in New Japan probably most known to non puro fans are probabl Takayama & Tenzan... and also some news from the fantastic world news post on DVDVR by KrisZ "Jeff Jarrett appeared surprisingly at New Japan’s Tokyo Dome show today and smashed a guitar over Hulk Hogan’s head during his press conference after his win over Masahiro Chono. Chono helped Hogan up after he was decked and they are going to join forces to team up and take on the “foreign enemies” of New Japan." Muta is in charge of All Japan... Guest Choken One Report post Posted October 14, 2003 Damn...Who does AJPW have? Tenzen? Takayama? Not that Well known as Muta or Liger to the states...
Use Your Illusion 0 Report post Posted October 14, 2003 Keiji Mutoh is head of All Japan, Choke. Also, Hiroyoshi Tenzan and Yoshihiro Takayama are mainstays in New Japan. EDIT: bps is one step ahead of me in terms of pics.
Guest dvkorn Report post Posted October 14, 2003 All Japan has Muta, Kojima, Kawada, Kaz Hayashi plus they use guys like Malice, Bull Buchanan, Mike Awesome, Elix.... Also, they had Sasuke on a recent card as well... Not sure if Sasuke is always there or not though.... And i dunno what Liger is doing... Maybe someone with more puro knowledge can fill us in... Guest TheGame2705 Report post Posted October 14, 2003 Tenzan was at Starrcade 1995 and some other times in WCW. If you say that WWE fans won't know him, they won't know any other NJPW people as they never went to WWE either.
Use Your Illusion 0 Report post Posted October 14, 2003 Instead of having someone give out explanations for each Japanese wrestler your interested in, just head over to this site and click on the specific wrestler you're interested in for all the up-to-date information on them. Guest El Satanico Report post Posted October 14, 2003 So now we have Hogan vs. Jarret and maybe Hogan/Chono vs. Jarret/? set up. Who should Jarret's partner be if the tag match happens? AJ would work unless TNA really wants to turn AJ face.

Guest Choken One Report post Posted October 14, 2003 Jarrett should get a Japan Heel...one that has history with Chono...who that would be I have NO clue.
Guest El Satanico Report post Posted October 14, 2003 Oh yeah forgot that Piper's back. I doubt it would be Savage. He's asking too much and isn't he on bad terms with Hogan.
