See, if i gave up on WWE, i'd miss shit like this. Fucking company...I often find that if the top draw for your shittiest show-who's a known beater of women of the female persuasion-as an alcoholic mysoginist will not only help your image, but draw ratings as well, ESPECIALLY against football & the AL Championship series. Jim Ross officially lost it well over a year ago (i first noticed it when he called Lita "Multi orgasmic in a cosmic sort of way" or something like that), so there goes his credibility. The fact that amazes me is that not only did this serve no purpose, but it killed Steiner & Test's heat. Granted, it's a mercy kill, but the fact remains that their pushes & feud have been rendered useless.

 

Also, it might have been just me, but did Austin seem to be acting a little weird tonight? I can't put my finger on what it was ( ), but it just seemed off.

Austin wasn't saving her so much as he was looking to fight Steiner. You could see the Stacy stunner coming from a mile away once she touched him, my only real problem with it (aside from JR's "Oh that's crazy rattlesnake, he's so crazy") is Austins reaction at the end - he should have been more happy than *shrugs shoulders and grins*. It kinda reminds me of DDKanyon in a way.

I would've been willing to forgive the Steiner beating, because it was as if Austin was serving as a condoit for Stacy's pent-up frustration over being treated like shit for the past month or two. They were even playing up that angle, with the camera cutting to Stacy smiling, and her egging on the "Austin!" chants. The whole thing was kind of sweet, in a way. Then he stuns her because she doesn't like beer? Hello? Did they not learn anything from the Mae Young silent treatment?

 

They covered their asses a bit with the Jericho/Trish segment, which was pretty cool. But if they're trying to portray Jericho as a heel, and Austin as a face, they're not doing a very good job.

HBK isn't turning heel. He's just being forced into a match with Goldberg by Bischoff. Michaels said they were even, so I doubt they would add one of the last remaining faces to the heel side. As for the Austin stunner, I think that they were trying to put Austin's beer over women. So if Austin, out of kindness offers a beer, you better take it! Also, if WWE is so dead set on the soap opera stuff, they should have Jericho/Trish be the Fred/Britney of the WWE. Jericho says they did and Trish says they didn't. Hearing Jericho every week talk about how he nailed Trish would be kind of funny.

Hello? Night after Mania...Bischoff discovered Austin has a broken neck and got medical clearance saying Austin cant wrestle any more and thus would have to be retired which allowed eric to fire him.
