Dangerous A 0 Report post Posted October 21, 2003 Whoo hoo, our league is up to 12 players now!! I hope you know I'll be on top for most, if not all the way and I anticipate I will make the leaderboard as well. (for those of you not in the know, making the leaderboard means you are in the top 50 players playing the game in the world. I made the leaderboard in the second half of last season for several days before I hit a dry spell)

Dangerous A 0 Report post Posted October 22, 2003 That's a damn good team, HQ. I may have to consider what you have. I just can't resist Duncan's potential numbers against the weak interior of the Suns. Stoudamire is good and all, but he can't hold Duncan.
alfdogg 0 Report post Posted October 23, 2003 I'm considering dropping Malone and using Amare the first night instead...What do you guys think? I think Amare will have better individual numbers than Malone...then again, the Lakers are playing Dallas. If Dallas gives up 120 points, at least 3/4 of that will be split between Shaq, Kobe, Malone and Payton. Also Malone should get more rebounds than he normally would against Dallas, I think. And Amare is matched against Timmay. Spoiler (Highlight to Read): 3/4 of 120 is 90.
Dangerous A 0 Report post Posted October 24, 2003 We're up to 17 now, but I suspect the number will climb up as the season nears. I've also invited a handful of other people I know who may be interested.
Dangerous A 0 Report post Posted October 24, 2003 Alright, now we're up to 21 players and counting. If we can get a good 30-40 players in our league, that'd be ok with me.
HarleyQuinn 0 Report post Posted October 24, 2003 Coolz DA, I'm getting a friend of mine to join now
Dangerous A 0 Report post Posted October 25, 2003 Bam!! In less than 8 hours, 8 more people joined up. I think we'll be full by the time this baby rolls around. I can't wait!!
Dangerous A 0 Report post Posted October 25, 2003 We are now at full capacity for the SmartMark Fantasy League. We've got a full 50 members. My question to people who are members of the TSM VGM game, should we keep any and all VGM discussion here or should I create a new OAO VGM thread?
HarleyQuinn 0 Report post Posted October 25, 2003 Keep it here...it's already essentially the OAO thread
AlwaysPissedOff 0 Report post Posted October 25, 2003 Jeebus... 50 people? That's insane... (not saying it's bad or anything, but DAAAAAMN!)
Dangerous A 0 Report post Posted October 26, 2003 It makes it more fun. Plus, while I keep an eye on how I'm doing in the group, I always am aware of my ranking in the world. That is always my big picture goal.
Dangerous A 0 Report post Posted October 27, 2003 I just saw that Caron Butler is out 2 weeks, so I had to get him out of my lineup for tommorrow's VGM. Here is my new lineup. PG Gary Payton, LAL SG Emanuel Ginobili, SA SF Lamar Odom, MIA PF Tim Duncan, SA C Shaquille O'Neal, LAL Cch Randy Ayers, PHI I just hope Ginobili is good to go. He is listed as probrable. I actually think I made an upgrade from Butler to Odom. Odom is the #1 man on this team right now and he will get the chance to put up some big numbers for me. BTW, is anyone else playing that other nba.com game, the Rookies? I decided to play that one too. It's free, plus if I can win big, I get 5 authentic NBA rookies jersey's. (hear that, Alfdogg?) alfdogg 0 Report post Posted October 28, 2003 (edited) I'm in. Here's my lineup: 10-28: Dwayne Wade 10-29: Marcus Banks 10-30: Carmelo Anthony 10-31: Chris Kaman 11-1: LeBron James 11-2: Mickael Pietrus I swapped Malone for Stoudemire in the VGM for tomorrow's games, as well. So I now have: PG: Marbury SG: Ginobili SF: Marion PF: Stoudemire C: Shaq Coach: Riley (SVG now) EDIT: Do you know what Jonathon Bender's status is? Dangerous A 0 Report post Posted October 28, 2003 (edited) I posted it in the OAO fantasy basketball league thread. I think it was out at least a week or two? I forgot my lineup for the rookies game and since I'm at home, I can't look at it because of tech problems with my PC. My lineup is almost like yours, except on day 2 I had Jarvis Hayes and where you have Chris Kaman, I have Chris Bosh or TJ Ford. Again, I don't remember. It's cool though because you can change it the night before. Edited October 28, 2003 by Dangerous A
Dangerous A 0 Report post Posted October 28, 2003 What is everyone's squad like for tommorrow (10/29) ? Here is my lineup. I tapped out and have zero value points left after taking in this lineup... PG Jamal Crawford, CHI SG Tracy McGrady, ORL SF Kevin Garnett, MIN PF Zach Randolph, POR C Jermaine O'Neal, IND Cch Jim O'Brien, BOS For the rookies game, it's... Today-Dwayne Wade 10/29-Jarvis Hayes 10/30-Carmelo Anthony 10/31-TJ Ford 11/1-LeBron James 11/2-Mickael Pietrus Today's the day. I can't wait.
HarleyQuinn 0 Report post Posted October 28, 2003 (edited) I'm trying...damn VGM Errors! Here's my roster(UPDATED) PG - Jason Kidd(21.2) SG - Jason Terry(17.0) SF - Jalen Rose(15.7) PF - Kenyon Martin(18.2) C - Ben Wallace(21.9) Coach - Jim O'Brien(3.1) Total = 97.1 Edited October 28, 2003 by HarleyQuinn
Dangerous A 0 Report post Posted October 28, 2003 Personally, I wouldn't go with Carmelo just yet. Plus, he's facing the Spurs, one the the league's best defensive teams. For VGM, I usually wait until a month or so before taking any rookies. They are too unpredictable.
NoCalMike 0 Report post Posted October 28, 2003 is it too late to signup, i think the first game is just a few hours away. also, can you set lineups a day or two ahead of time just in case you won't have access to a puter?
Dangerous A 0 Report post Posted October 28, 2003 It's not too late to sign up for VGM, but you can't join the Smartmarks group because it is already at full capacity. Also, you can't set your lineups a day or two in advance. It has to be set the day before to score for the day of. Sorry about that.
HarleyQuinn 0 Report post Posted October 28, 2003 Updated my roster for tomorrow...looks like a solid lineup, here's hoping it pulls through for me I'm so fully expecting to compete head to head with ya DA
alfdogg 0 Report post Posted October 29, 2003 Tomorrow's lineup: PG: Jason Kidd SG: Bonzi Wells SF: Dirk Nowitzki PF: Zach Randolph C: Jermaine O'Neal Coach: Flip Saunders
Dangerous A 0 Report post Posted October 29, 2003 Fuckin Shaq. He is the most costliest player except Garnett and he gives me lame ass numbers on the first night. That and Odom leaves in the first quarter with an ankle sprain, fucking up SF for my team. That's ok, GP and Duncan came through. It's a long season. Lots of highs and lows with this game. Cuban Linx 0 Report post Posted October 29, 2003 My team for tomorrow, though i may tinker with one or two positions a bit: PG- Jason Kidd @ Toronto SG- Tracy McGrady @ New York SF- Jamal Mashburn vs. Atlanta PF- Rasheed Wallace @ Utah C- Brad Miller vs. Cleveland Coach- Bill Cartwright vs. Washington Comes in at 99.
alfdogg 0 Report post Posted October 29, 2003 Boy, Amare REALLY fucked me over on that swap. Ginobili too. He was hurt though I think. Meanwhile, Malone was one assist shy of a triple-double. And I shouldn't have believed the Heat's preseason hype, I guess. Of course, it's only one game.
alfdogg 0 Report post Posted October 29, 2003 And why isn't it showing any scores for us?
Dangerous A 0 Report post Posted October 29, 2003 Bad news for you Cuban. Mashburn is expected to miss the first 2 weeks of the season with an injury. You won't get any stats for him.
HarleyQuinn 0 Report post Posted October 29, 2003 Yeah...where're the scores for yesterday?
Dangerous A 0 Report post Posted October 29, 2003 Go to the page for your roster. In the middle going towards the right, you'll see a section called scoring/resources. Click on previous and you will see your team from the previous day. I am ranked 5th in our group and in the top 91.5% of people playing in the world. OK considering Odom left early and Ginobili stunk the joint up for me. You can also look up other people and who they have on their rosters as well. Here is my lineup for tommorrow. I have .6 leftover value points after picking this squad... PG Andre Miller, DEN SG Tracy McGrady, ORL SF Shawn Marion, PHO PF Elton Brand, LAC C Zydrunas Ilgauskas, CLE Cch Jeff VanGundy, HOU In the rookies game, I have Jarvis Hayes today. I got big numbers from Dwayne Wade yesterday, but everyone and their mother had him in.
