Unfortunatelky the drafting is automatic and to qualify I need atleast 3 more players by midnight. the league is called just for the fork of it the league number is 448546 the league password is smartmarks (no caps!) It may be alot of fun to see how everyone else does in a fake league with real players and besides, seeing how my twistrers arent going anywhere, this may be the only chance at a legaue title Tim
Guest Evolution Report post Posted June 18, 2004 Damn computers. Paco would like to go back to Jacksonville. He likes the humid weather. For the record, your trade request came after I had already re-simmed the first month. So, as of May 1st, you're back on the Jackoffs.

The batters, with the exception of Robert Henderson, of course, are all looking pretty mediocre. Brandon Rhodes figured that with the restart of the season and the lack of a trade that would send David Hunter to Montreal, that he would be assured a starting spot at second base. Unfortunately, Josue Castro and Willie Sauceda fill those two spots and Rhodes is a third-stringer behind those two men, as Rhodes simply isn't good enough right now to fight with the raw talent that the other two second basemen have. Montreal is obviously trying to win it all this year, and they're taking some good steps in the right direction by getting a solid second baseman. As for the pitchers, it's a miracle that Ben Dover's career hasn't gone down the drain, and if it weren't for the expansion teams, that likely would've been the case. For now, he is stuck on Montreal, and not contributing much in his eight performances of the season so far. Meanwhile, Rolf Dreikugeln is looking pretty solid through one month of the season, and is already on pace to rack up a great number of saves. Eric LeBeau is off to a good start as well, looking for yet another 20-win season, perhaps. None of the pitchers are looking very bad, per se, but that will likely change when we get into the later months of this season. LEAGUE LEADERS I've decided to adopt a new policy on league leaders. Unless it is requested, I won't be posting the league leader numbers until the All-Star break and at the end of August, going into the final month of the season. The former is just to gauge how the first half of the season treated everyone, and the end of August allows our TSM players to see how close they might be to winning in a certain category or even setting a TSM and/or SFBL record! Plus, this drastically cuts down on the time that it takes me to type up a report. The League Leaders is the longest section in the whole report, and it takes me a very long time to complete, thus I think that cutting down the reports to two times a year with exceptions for questions about where someone stands ("Do I have the most stolen bases among SFBL players?," for example). Guest Evolution Report post Posted June 20, 2004 SFBL May 2016 Awards/SFBL Players In The News: Monday, May 7th, 2016: Van Siclen wins Player of the Week honors The Player of the Week award in the North-South goes to Vancouver's Mike Van Siclen this time, as the shortstop displayed the best offensive performance in his league. He had an on base percentage of .560 and hit .500, while driving in 7 runs. He now has homered in 3 consecutive games as well! While compiling an on base percentage of .416, Mike hit .357 and slugged .777. He has collected 32 runs batted in this year. He's 8th in the North-South in batting, 3rd in homeruns and 3rd in RBI! Monday, May 21st, 2016: Frost wins P.O.W. award The East-West's best player of the week was Seattle's RJ Frost, who wins the award for the 12th time in his career. RJ was on fire, hitting .545 with 2 HR and 11 RBI. He got at least one hit each game this week and is on a 7 game hitting streak right now! Monday, May 28th, 2016: James (LV) wins P.O.W. award Las Vegas' third baseman Edward James had some reason to celebrate, as the league named him the East-West Player of the Week. In 22 at bats he hit .409 with 1 HR and 8 RBI. James has walked 16 times this year and posts a .350 OBP. While batting .296, 56 for 189, he has driven in 35 runs. He's 9th in the East-West in RBIs and 6th in homeruns! SFBL Standings Injuries: Saturday 5/12/2016 : OKL: Gabriel Cirillo was injured while pitching. Diagnosis: Spasms Back. Paco Fernandez moved to Jacksonville and quickly shot up the Batter Rankings, looking to have a strong season after being stuck in AAA during April before the trade. Shiro Suzuki also showed some promise this year, after seeming to have lost his touch so long ago. Speaking of those possibly losing the touch, Big Red's batting average has dipped below .400 for the first time since I can remember, and he'll have to work to not only keep it above .400, but to keep his opponents from taking his batting title--Michael Lucariello is only 15 batting points behind Henderson with a .384 average. Giant Gonzales is off to a 7-1 start, as Atlanta has suddenly turned into a hot team, looking to capture their first playoff berth in franchise history if they can hang on through the rest of the season: They've earned the wildcard spot if the season were to end today. The other pitchers aren't too so bad themselves, except for Gabriel Cirillo, whose unfortunate injury to his back while likely set him back with the recovery time it will take. Hopefully the Oklahoma ace will have a somewhat speedy recovery, though, because the Twisters are only a measly six games out of first place in the East-West Central, and is currently the best expansion team. Lightning Flik 0 Report post Posted June 21, 2004 The problem is we need to get a "clutch" hitter or something like that. Because honestly, something isn't right here. We signed another great hitter (that non-TSM player) and then there's me and Hunter. That SHOULD get us doing some damage.
the.weej 0 Report post Posted June 21, 2004 The problem is actually, as Evo has mentioned to me, that LV has more or less the single worst pitching staff in the SFBL. The Berzerker converted seven consecutive save opportunities in the month of June, improving his ERA after stumbling slightly in May. For the batters, Winston Ghandi had a good June, and it shows as his overall standing with the rest of the TSM batters has improved. Speaking of improvements, Robert Henderson has gone back over .400 after a temporary scare that saw him actually be human and fall under the .400 batting average mark. Big Red once again has a legitimate shot at the Triple Crown, but it will take some very hard work as there is plenty of season to go and not nearly enough time for Henderson to catch up in the North-South homerun race, currently being led by Neall Isaacson and JC Morello (both with 30 dingers), and Eugene Widrick and Robert Henderson tied for third with 27 homeruns each. Edward James, David Hunter, and Peter Kostka all had mediocre to above average Junes, but Las Vegas remains nine out of the top spot in the West currently being held by Seattle. Keeping an eye on the expansion teams, Montreal is the closest to any kind of playoff berth, 10 games behind the Tea Baggers, who have enough problems with New York and the Philadelphia Freedom only three and four games back, respectively. Oklahoma and New Orleans share the same record as Montreal, but in the East-West Central it appears to be a two-horse race between Chicago and Denver through the first half, and right now Atlanta is hanging on dearly to a sliver of a lead, looking for their first playoff appearance in franchise history and hoping that the second half works out as well as the first did for the Hanoi Janes. KingPK 0 Report post Posted June 27, 2004 Just found something really great. At the Underdogs site, you can download OOTP2 for free. 400 Software Studios apparently released it as freeware, so you won't feel guilty for d/ling it. You can play your own version of the SFBL at home!
Guest Smell the ratings!!! Report post Posted June 27, 2004 OOTP 2 is actually pretty sweet although it's way ghetto. I've been hoping they would put out 3 soon.
Guest Evolution Report post Posted June 27, 2004 2016 ALL-STAR GAME RECAP North-South @ East-West Seven North-South players drove in at least one run as the North-South All-Stars were able to stifle the East-West early, having a 10-7 lead by the end of five innings and adding one run in the top of the ninth to make the final score 11-7. Brett Smith was the All-Star MVP, going 2-for-4 with a solo homerun in the fifth inning off Patricio Diez, scoring twice and driving in two runs while drawing one walk. Other batters driving in two runs included current batting leader Robert Henderson, Neall Isaacson and Steve Hatfield. Henderson went 1-for-4, scoring twice and driving in two runs with a walk as well. Carlos DeSantis did not play for the North-South, but Giant Gonzales pitched two full innings of work, giving up three hits and striking out one after coming to the mound in the fifth inning. This will likely be the 38-year-old Gonzales' last All-Star Game, as retirement seems very likely within the next year or so. For the East-West, Abel Ortiz hit a two-run homerun in the fifth inning and Jose Etenza's two doubles made those two batters the offensive leaders for the night, Abel with two RBI and Etenza with three. Edward James and RJ Frost both went 0-for-3, while James was at least able to bring in a run by grounding into a fielder's choice. NORTH-SOUTH 11, EAST-WEST 7 WP - Tipsy Gesner (3 IP, 0 HA, 0 ER, 0 BB, 0 K) LP - Tim Neal (3 IP, 3 HA, 3 ER, 4 BB, 2 K) S - Celso Frese (2 IP, 0 HA, 0 ER, 0 BB, 0 K) All-Star MVP: Brett Smith (2-for-4, 2 R, 2 RBI, solo homerun in fifth inning) Coming up: League leaders and some talk about the trading block. Who's on the trading block this year? Discuss while I compile the league leaders.
