The 19 year old first baseman was named the Fresh Fish Award winner in the East-West today. What a way to begin a career! Fury has hit 23 homeruns this year while batting .269. He adds 43 doubles, along with 97 runs scored. Henderson (MEM) wins Big Stick Award It was a day to remember for Memphis' Robert Henderson, who won the North-South Big Stick Award today. It put the finishing touches on what has been a tremendous season for the slugger. While compiling an on base percentage of .425, Robert hit .370 and slugged .718. He has collected 176 runs batted in this year. He's 2nd in the North-South in batting, 1st in homeruns and 1st in RBI! Henderson wins the award for the sixth time in his 11-year career. East-West Fresh Fish Award: Christian Fury (BOS)! He batted .269 in 565 AB, with 23 homers and 113 RBI. North-South Fresh Fish Award: Andrew Cuprik (KAN)! He batted .265 in 611 AB, with 10 homers and 76 RBI. East-West Rocket Wrist Award: Tipsy Gesner (SEA)! He had a record of 23-6 with an ERA of 3.18 and 2 shutouts. Chevalier had no time to speak about the connections between New Orleans and France as he immediately surrendered to the general manager as he approached with Andre's jersey. Many of his family members still living in France are looking forward to see him playing for the Machine De Crunk. Ten picks later, the Glory Holes were up and added "Rocketbuster" Joey Zurn to their stable of TSM players which includes Timothy Marsch and Austin Sly. Many LA women have lined up outside the Draft HQ to see if Joey's packing a Rocketbuster in his pants. No word on how many of them are actually men in drag. After Zurn was picked, the final TSM rookie sat on a stack of phone books, straining to see a glance of the SFBL Commissioner as each team continued to pass him up. Finally, the long wait for the short man was brought to a close as the Phoenix Ashes selected closer Tiny "Tattoo" Gonzales as the 13th pick in the fifth round. The shortest player in SFBL history might have a short or tall ladder to climb to the majors, depending on his spring training performance. Currently, he's slated to be the closer in AAA, but they may change if he fails to deliver this spring. Spring Training It's that time again. For those of you that don't know, Spring Training is the time when any player in the SFBL can improve, if they distribute their points right. You start with 20 points, divided evenly at the start among four categories. Batters: Contact Hitting Power Hitting Strike Zone Judgment Defense Pitchers: Pure Stuff Pitching Velocity Pitching Control Stamina From there, you can take away points from one category and put it in another, as long as you distribute all twenty points by the end of your reorganization. The other option is, of course, to take five points from all four categories (or from one), and put it towards learning a new position. There is no guarantee that you will learn the position, however, so choose how to distribute your points wisely.
