Well, if the album does drop next month.. it marks two must-buy albums for me. And, I NEVER buy CDs.

Preorder now while that price is there, boys, I expect it'll go up. They KNOW it'll sell, they know they can milk you for more than that, and they WILL.

That's, of course, if this happens. Remember that HHH VHS that was posted at Amazon for years and years and never came?

If this is all true then that's great and I'll be getting it first day of release. But, New Gn'R album. Surely everyone knows it's title, it's been floating around for about ten years. I can't wait for more information, possibly giving a little more info.

Songs I've heard so far:

Chinese Democracy - kicks ass

Madagascar - excellent in it's full form

The Blues - well, BPS likes it :)

Silk Worms - meh, it's instrumental

I just don't believe this,

as a long time GNR fan I've seen tons of release dates for a new album (Early 95, Summer 96, Fall 97, Mid 99, Summer 2001, Fall 2002 Etc.)

I really thought that when they started playing gigs again the new album would come out shortly thereafter. But that was already what 2 and 3/4 years ago?

At least point I don't honestly think I'll ever see this album released.. and that's a damn shame because all the new material I've heard on bootlegs and such has all been excellent.

As far as "The Spaghetti Incident" goes, "Down On The Farm", "Ain;t It Fun", "Hair Of The Dog", "Black Leather" and "Look At Your Game Girl" are all pretty good in my book.

Those are all good, but I liked "Buick Makane," especially the ending, when GnR went into a brief cover of Soundgarden's "Big Dumb Sex."

Update:

Amazon.com Sales Rank: 487

What the hell? That means a mystery album is now outselling Eminem and 50 cent. By comparison, "Appetite For Destruction" is #737

THE BLUES OWNS YOU!!!!!!!!!!

"The Blues" is pretty good... not excellent or mind-blowing, but good.

Well, I know of many people over at HereTodayGoneToHell.com that are already purchasing the album without having any clue as to what it is. Word has it over there that the price will increase as the release date draws nearer, so it is best to act now.

Not a logical option for Australians such as myself, but I'd probably do the same if I was over in the States.

I give up.........no, I can't give up. That would be like conceding defeat and accepting this Limp Bizkit/Linkin Park ruled rock world. Can't do it. As the sucker that I am, I will continue to hope that Axl is jerking us around, and come November 25th, we will see Chinese Democracy. (fat chance)

At least they could stick some unreleased material on that greatest hits compilation, you know.

How sad, I'm kind of immune to the disappointment now since it has occurred so very often. Yet, I hit that same level of excitement everytime I hear of Democracy's 'release'.

*sigh*

Well I don't think Axl would want the new stuff on the same cd with some old stuff. I think at the very least he should have released an EP ala "Lies" with the new material most of the internet GNR fans have heard. "Madagascar", "The Blues", "Chinese Democracy", "Silk Worms" and "Rhiad and The Bedouins".

Me thinks this has little to do with Axl.

I remember a little while back, a record company released a greatest hits compliation of Prince's work and he posted on his website, urging fans not to bother buying it because it was just an attempt to make money off his name.

I see this as much the same scenario. However, maybe if this charted well Axl would grow the balls to release C.D?

Fuck it, I'm done analysing this.

There are little rumors over at HereTodayGoneToHell that Sanctuary, GNR's management, is suing the label to stop the Greatest Hits album from being put out, as well as the two Use Your Illusion DVDs and the Welcome To The Videos DVD.

It might get messy shortly, and all that can mean is a longer wait.

Good job, Axl. Lord knows we wouldn't want any GNR merchandise, after all.

I don't understand why Amazon posts a track listing, then they take it down like 10 minutes later, though.

Simple, a ton of people already bought it thinking that it was gonna be Chinese Democracy. Now that it's confirmed to NOT be Chinese Democracy, sales will drop like mad.

Not really.

You're thinking if 'Live Era', which is a compliation of GNR live performances from the 80's to the early 90's. The album flopped considerably and could be one of the many reasons Axl is so hesitant to release C.D.

Greatest Hits Album canceled

A representative of Universal Music has revealed to BW&BK that the previously announced GUNS N’ ROSES’ Greatest Hits album that was due out on November 25th through Geffen has been pulled from the labels release schedule.

A reason for the cancellation was not given and whether or not the disc will be rescheduled is yet to be seen.

The disc would have included the following tracklisting: ‘Welcome To The Jungle’, ‘Live And Let Die’, ‘Knockin' On Heaven's Door’, ‘Sweet Child Of Mine’, ‘November Rain’, ‘Patience’, ‘Paradise City’, ‘Civil War’, ‘You Could Be Mine’, ‘Don't Cry’ (original), ‘Yesterdays’, ‘Ain't It Fun’, ‘Since I Don't Have You’ and ‘Sympathy For The Devil’.

What an interesting couple of days.............

My money is on the fact every GNR website I've been to recently have greated huge petitions that declare war against the record company for releasing a GH album.

What? Democratic vote actually WORKS?!?!?

Kudos to JAxl sig, btw.

So even a greatest hits is pulled?

Well apparently is was put out by the record company without Axl, or any of the old band's knowledge. I am glad it was stopped, it was a ridiculous idea in the first place.

Live Era is a great album... no fucking clue why it flopped.
